DELA TILE - Kitchen and Bath Remodel

​Did excellent work. Their crew was awesome. I have worked with a lot of contractors and they are by far extraordinary. They were respectful of my home while doing work. I highly recommend and most definitely will use again.

After reading many online reviews about Dela Tile and thinking I should look elsewhere for a fabricator and installer, I did come back to and select Dela for my project and am happy overall with the results. I coordinated all of the work through Ricardo and found him both pleasant and easy to work with. From many of the complaints (but not all) that I reviewed online, I saw a pattern where it was a miscommunication or a misunderstanding by one or both parties. All I can say is that if something is really important to you, write a contract addendum and get it signed by both parties. I drafted and added a separate addendum to Dela's contract on terms and conditions that were important to me and asked for it to be signed by us prior to any work being started or any payment made. Since Ricardo was okay with my additional terms and conditions, he signed it and everything was set to begin. Overall, I gave them a grade of A, because A- is not an available option. I had a reasonable timeframe to start and finish the work; coordinated regularly with Ricardo on the details and Dela Tile did a great fabrication and installation of the granite countertops. I'd choose them again if I have need of another granite installation. They only fell a bit short of a full-on "A" grade due to being a bit late to start the job (a time I had put into writing in the addendum); and, forgetting to bring back the sink I provided them at the beginning so they could make the cutout. Bringing the sink back, and installing it at my house on the day of the installation was quickly resolved after calling Ricardo. So other than a slight inconvenience, it was fine and the countertops are just great. Don't base your vendor choice solely on reviews of others. Had I stopped only after reading reviews, and not gone to Dela's showroom and met with Ricardo, I would have missed out on great work done by a very good company. My experience with Dela Tile led to a great result. Pictures are before the cabinets and backsplash were remodeled. My price might seem low; however, keep in mind that my kitchen is small, did not require more than 1 slab of granite that was in the mid-price range.

Absolutely beautiful! This is the fifth time for us doing business with Ricardo at Dela Tile and we will be using them again.

They have horrible customer service. We chose who
colors of granite from AG&M for two different areas of our home. The colors
were pretty different, but the names were similar. We tried working with DELA
to confirm the correct colors were set to go in the correct place. We signed
the contract under the impression that they were confirmed for the proper
installation locations.  Installation day
comes, what do you know, the wrong colors were fabricated for the wrong places.
Call the office, and the employee we were working with on our home ?quit the
day we signed the contract.? GREAT.
I have all of the email communication, including the one
where I specifically stated where we wanted each color.  After discussion of emails, communicating with
AG&M (who I wouldn?t recommend either) for over a week, DELA says ?sorry,
you signed the contract, so this is the way we are installing it.? 
It gets worse. I say, ?OK, we are going to have to consult
with our legal advisor because this is a really expensive mistake that we did
not make, but now have to deal with.? The next morning we get an email saying
we have 24 hours to schedule installation, or they are reporting US to collections.
REALLY?
This company is a joke. They care about nothing but their
money. It is not our fault that their employee quit, and at the end of the day,
they did not give us what we asked for, and forced us to take it anyway. My
best advice would be to find a company who has a long, positive history in
Austin, even if you have to wait 3Xs longer for your granite. It will be worth
it.

Dela did a great job installing our granite. However, they were sloppy on the bathroom tile work: uneven grout color, hole in tile slightly too large for fixture etc. The real problem was that when we pointed out what was wrong with the bathroom work, they pulled every trick in the book to get out of fixing it: no/slow returned calls or emails, pointing fingers within their company, blaming the contractor etc etc. I would only consider using them again if I had a granite installation and was supervising very closely.

End product was good.  The granite and tile backsplash look great.  Their plumber was incompetent and had to come out three times to fix leaks around sinks and faucets.  Their estimator at the store had to correct her estimate three times to include the various items that we asked for.  Bright spot was their installer supervisor who came out and supervised the work.  He was very good, thus good end product.

We were very pleased with their work.  The employees were very respectful of our home.  They were always on time and would contact us often to make sure everything was proceeding as planned.  Our remodel has made our home feel like a new home.  Their craftsmanship was outstanding.  I would gladly hire them again or recommend them to anyone.

The price was good for the amount of counter tops. I was not impressed with the joints in the granite or the finish at the edges. The joints were rough to touch and a bit chipped. The bullnose edge was inconsistent around the kitchen. They fixed that to some degree with hand tools but the room was not sealed off nor was the A/C turned off; you can imagine the dust throughout the home. Not as neat a job as I have seen elsewhere.
