Kris is fantastic! We hired her about a year ago to help remodel several bathrooms in our house. She is a pleasure to work with, always prompt and professional, and with a fantastic sense of color and design. She worked extremely well with our contractor throughout the remodeling, which expanded to include several other areas of the house and took almost a year. Through it all, I appreciated her attention to detail and her ability to understand and implement what we wanted. We are delighted with the beauty and function she brought to our house. It's clear that she was the perfect person to help us improve our place, and I look forward to working with her on any future projects.

We first hired Kris to help with blackout shades for our bedrooms. From initial consultation to installation, Kris’ professionalism, stellar communication, attention to detail, eye for design, and organization were top notch. When we decided to add a bedroom, bathroom, sunroom and office to our home in 2024, we knew we wanted to work with Kris again. From helping select interior and exterior paint colors, bathroom tile and fixtures, flooring, metal roof color, window treatments, rugs, and furniture, Kris was instrumental in our project. She handled and kept track of all the details with ease, attended meetings with our GC, and always followed through on action items. She helped us find and vet vendors for the countertop and exterior shutters we wanted, incorporated steel doors to our sunroom in her overall design, and provided valuable counsel on our millwork. We could not be happier with our project, and Kris’ contribution. She is a dream to work and we highly recommend her.

I've had the pleasure of working with Kris on residential (2 homes) and commercial (2 office suites) projects over the last twenty years. It was time to update our living and dining space last Spring so I called Kris for a consultation. She has a great eye for color and design, while staying within the budget, and repurposing of items you have on hand. Our update included a large area rug, drapes, and pillows for the sofa - all beautifully coordinated - and rehanging of an extra large, framed map of the State of Texas that we had in another room originally. Working with Kris was absolutely amazing! We moved houses and needed help freshening up our existing furniture and decor to better suite the style of our new house. Kris did an excellent job of listening to what we wanted and offering several ideas. She respected our budget and always brought several suggestions with different price ranges to select from. She was very honest about what she thought needed to be changed but never pushed. In fact, there were a few things that we thought we should get rid of, and she said to keep them, and she would pull it all together.

I found myself getting married and moving into a nice home occupied for over 25 years by a man with completely different styles than I had - he is traditional and I am modern. He was a recent widower and I had been single many years, and we both had decor in our homes that we loved. But, some things had to go, and some things were "sacred pieces" that we just couldn't part with. Given our strong likes and dislikes, I decided to hire some help to help create a home that "flowed" with a merger of the two styles. Kris and I had a phone interview and she had some good suggestions on how to even get started. On Kris's first visit, we got a scope of work, as well as an understanding of our budget. First, we decided to change wall color to set the stage. She was very professional as she guided us through the choices, then she referred us to a team of painters that she typically works with. They were just wonderful!!! They were on time, did quality work, and left our home very clean and orderly each day. We then worked on new window coverings, dining chair reupholstery, bedroom soft goods updates, and a few design suggestions. Again, Kris's work teams did a wonderful job with time management, quality of work, and pricing. She did some periodic inspections to ensure they delivered a quality product. Everything looks really nice and has a nice flow to the color scheme we chose early on. All of that is just great, but what Kris really helped us with the most was getting two 70 year old newlyweds with strong opinions to work together patiently, respectfully, and compassionately to bring a new look into our home that reflects both of us. She was kind, honest, and direct when she needed for us to "hear" something. Bravo, Kris! Kris gave us the confidence we need to continue with our decorating over the next couple of years in a way that we could not have achieved without her "teaching moments' and we will be forever grateful as we continue to build our lives and our home together.

I hired Kris to convert my Traditional style family room into something more contemporary. The outcome was amazing. She listens to what you envision and makes it happen! Working with Kris on our project to gut and redo our kitchen was such a joy. We hired Kris to work on a couple of smaller painting and window covering projects first to get a feel for her approach and then it was easy to choose her to guide us through this massive remodel. Everything from order of operations, to knowing great places to go to get quality pieces where we wanted them and cheaper prices where we wanted that. Kris was with us every step of the way, making sure we were able to navigate changes in designs or materials along the way with grace and poise. I absolutely LOVE my new kitchen, and Kris' eye for what would go with what and what would be too busy are huge reasons for why the end result is so great.

I would definitely recommend Kris Miller as your design consultant. She is not only a pleasure to work with, but has a unique eye for color and patterns. She always respected that this is my home; offering suggestions, but never forcing her opinions, She works within ones budget which I found extremely important in that I am retired. I had a very positive experience working with Kris. She helped me with the project of getting my guest house fully furnished and ready for guests in a two month timeframe. What was wonderful about working with Kris was that I felt that everything was taken care, managed, and delivered smoothly and elegantly. Kris was also able to help with some bonus elements such as wall painting, bench staining, window drapery, and cookware. Very helpful.

Simply put, in my opinion, she is the best. I have worked with several other interior decorators; all good but none compare to her. At every level and stage of the various projects, she was superb. From our initial phone call, I could tell that she was professional, a perfectionist, easy to chat with and had a level of attention to detail that was amazing. For all of the projects that she has done for me, everything was delivered and wrapped with a bow. Initial design/conception, back and forth iterations while always attentive to my tastes â she had a way of gently conforming my tastes to ultimately create a very stylish look for each room that she did. She also really knows her profession and runs a very organized ship when it comes to working with suppliers, flooring contractors â whomever. She just gets it all done and keeps you posted every step of the way so misunderstandings are never an issue. I give her my highest recommendations and if you hire her, you will be very glad that you did and you will understand that my recommendation actually underestimates her talents and abilities.

Kris Miller at Decorating Den Interiors corralled the conflicting requirements of me and my wife, and made them blossom into a bright new bedroom and reading room. Kris redesigned our room configuration and helped us find new furniture and accoutrements that meet our needs much better than what we had. We appreciated her patience and responsiveness as she taught us about different design options. I liked her process of listening to what we wanted, assessing the space, and then giving us a set of choices for room configurations and items to include. We also appreciated her advance notice of realistic timelines for deliveries from the manufacturer. Everything seemed to fall into place on time or earlier.

Kris is a dream to work with. I was intimidated to work with a designer, and I hired Kris because she asks good questions, listens, and explains things in a way that a non-decorator like me can easily understand. While she is refreshingly down to earth in her communication style, her fluency with design is very sophisticated. I have a definite esthetic point of view, and Kris was able to take my input and translate it into reality. She is a creative problem-solver and has a can-do attitude. At the same time, she communicated clearly, kindly, and respectfully about what could or could not be accomplished within my budget. She didn't push me to increase my budget, simply made sure that my expectations were realistic. In the end, the results are beautiful, exceeding expectations, and reflect my taste and my lifestyle. I have a small space and a relatively small budget, and I felt she treated my project with the same care, commitment, and attention to detail that she would bring to a larger project. I feel lucky to have been able to work with Kris and recommend her wholeheartedly!

I Highly Recommend Kris with Decorating Den Interiors! We started in March when Covid just hit. We began our projects with photos and lists. I ordered furniture, pictures, pillows and lighting with Kris giving me great choices to pick from. I finally met her when everything was delivered and set up. Where do I begin with a review of Kris Miller, of Austin, Texas? I am on house # 2 with Kris now and she never fails to inspire and deliver. Kris has helped me with soft design elements and hard design element selections alike. She has helped me with furniture selections, furniture placement, rugs, wallpaper, lighting, color, paint, and fabrics, custom upholstery and drapery ... and all the finishing touches that make a room feel complete. Of course, Kris knows her craft. That goes without saying. She is also well-connected in the Austin design industry so when I need referrals and recommendations for GC's or other trade workers, she always seems to have a contact up her sleeve as well. But I think what I like most about Kris is she just "gets" me. She knows me, my people, and how we live. And because she pays attention to who we are -- us, as people -- it makes it really easy for her to help design the elements of our home in a way that works for us ... functionally, aesthetically, beautifully. Every time! I love Kris. I think you will too.

Kris is amazing. She did quite a lot of interior work at our home. We were amazed to see how good she is in her selections. She always listen to all the request and provide her perspective to it. In most of the cases we went ahead with her perspective. Her attention to detail skill is what makes her standout. Other than her work, she is a great person to work and interact with. I would definitely recommend her to my friends.
