Dayton Contracting Roofing & Renovation

Shane Dayton has done repairs for me for several years and decided I wanted him to do a total exterior renovation to our two story house. We reached an agreement based on exterior was to look like a new house. All personnel, particularly Alphonso and David, and subcontractors provided excellent work performed on a timely basis and the appearance is that of a new house. There were only minor problems and were taken care of promptly. My career was in construction and know the different levels of quality. Shane's work is top level and will certainly work with him again.

Shane was easy to communicate with. He was prompt in replying back and friendly each time we talked, texted or emailed. The roofing crew cleaned up the yard very well each day. They even went into our neighbors’ yards looking for debris from their work.

Great company! Shane is a straight shooter and took the time to explain all aspects of the job and answer my questions. There were no shortcuts taken while doing the job and the workmanship was outstanding. The crew was friendly and respectful of our property, cleaning up nicely after the job. Shane was very responsive to our questions and concerns. He clearly takes pride in his work and realizes that quality workmanship and service are the keys to a successful business. Our home is 25 years old and needed addition flashing, wood molding replacement, new higher quality skylights. All were done professionally. We are very please with the final result as well as the process. His workers were also very responsive and courteous. I highly recommend getting a bid from Shane and letting him explain how the work will be done. He gave us realistic expectations for the possible issues that he may face with the process so we had very few small surprises. He came in exactly to his bid that we agreed on. Shane is honest and trustworthy. These days, that is rare for roofing contractors.

Shane was very helpful in going through some options for the best way to fix up the front of my house. He is very knowledgeable and has great ideas. I ended up going in a completely different direction but will definitely call him again the next time I have work to be done.

Shane examined the problem area where multiple roof lines intersect and the original flashing and shingles in that area were inadequate. He proposed a solution in an estimate with clearly written details. Shane and his team were easy to work with. They installed newly fabricated flashing, a bitumen membrane, and new shingles. They showed up when promised and finished the job over two days, cleaning up both days. When the work was done, Shane provided photos of the roof areas that are not visible from the ground, which I appreciate having. The work looks great. I'd hire Shane again.

As a result of several pre-sale inspections, we realized that our home needed its stucco siding overhauled, a new roof, new gutters, new paint and several other external things. Not knowing where to begin, we just started getting random bids from contractors on various items. When it came to stucco, we started with Dayton. Shane Dayton the owner came personally to meet with us. He was confident and assuring that the work needed was extensive, but not devastating as others had told us. So we took a flyer and let him bid the work. His pricing was in the range of others, but it was the confidence he instilled in us was what convinced us. And then he told us that he started his business with roofing and would put his work up against anyone of the bigger outfits in the market. We have had really bad experiences with contractors in Austin, but Shane was genuine. So we gave him the whole job. That was the best homeowner decision we ever made in the ten houses we have owned over the years. Not only did Shane deliver (in spite of record rainfall delays) but the quality and beauty of the work was great. The best part is that Shane personally attended to each trade on site, and if there was ever a request by us for him to come out, about anything, he made it a priority to meet us on our schedule and even on weekends. Shane is a man of integrity, and the men that work on his crews are polite, prompt and always clean up at the end of the day. Never did we think that something was going wrong or would not be finished in high fashion. We would hire Shane any time, for any job that he would contract for!

I was really impressed with Shane. He definitely took more time evaluating the job and explaining the different components than the other contractors I interviewed. His crew showed up exactly when they promised to, and completed the job in one day. I would definitely hire them again.

We have a single story stucco house. The roof is composition shingle, with decking, shingle, fascia, soffit, and gutter butting into the left and right sides of a stucco chimney on an exterior wall. Kickout flashing was never installed at the roof edge to terminate the turnback flashing, so water was leaking into both sides of the chimney chase near the fascia. However, there was no exterior evidence of any structural damage. We spent the better part of a year interviewing several roofing/stucco contractors looking for a qualified assessment of the situation, and a bid for a proper solution. All of the bids recommended at least partial demolition of the stucco surrounding the affected areas of the chimney ($3000+), with a disclaimer that there would likely be extensive water damage discovered, requiring a rebuilding of the entire chimney ($10,000+). Since the stucco and chimney seemed structurally sound, we were looking for a practical solution that specifically addressed the leak itself, and Dayton Contracting was willing to provide it. Shane suggested retrofitting the kickout flashing through slots cut into the chimney's surface, preserving the integrity of the stucco at a fraction of the cost. Daniel and crew did an excellent job of implementing the solution, and Shane warrantied the work for 1 year. We were confident that the issue had finally been resolved, after the chimney remained dry following several major spring downpours, until a smaller leak returned in the same area. Shane, honoring his warranty, decided to fabricate and install a new cricket over the existing one, with new turnback and kickout flashing, to totally seal the chimney. Again, Daniel and crew performed the work in a seamless aesthetic way, preserving the integrity of the stucco. Working with Dayton Contracting has been incredibly satisfying. We experienced excellent communication throughout the project. Daniel and crew are truly craftsmen. Shane provides creative and practical solutions, and he stands by his work. We have recommended Dayton Contracting to several of our friends and family, for both smaller and larger projects, and will not hesitate to contact them ourselves in the future, if the need arises.

Dlayton Contracting was a very good company to work with. Workers were easy to have around. Work was thorough and well done. Owner provided recommendations on chimney area design, and reinforced with better flashing to stop a leak problem. They removed rotten wood and replaced. Additional work done on dormers to replace old wood with hardie plank. Paint was applied as needed. Owner had foreman come back and touch up a couple of areas he was not satisfied with. All very professionally handled! We expect to have them back to re-roof a smaller rental place.

Shane and his team were great to work with to repair our roof leak. He was prompt in providing us with a quality estimate and included pictures of areas he was concerned about. His team completed the job effectively and he sent me pictures of repairs at different stages of progress so I could see exactly what they were doing. A fair price and good, quality work. The issue was resolved by doing things the right way, not putting the band aid over a problem.

Shane and his crew did an outstanding job on my roof replacement. The work included replacing the roof, replacing rotten trim boards and the wood siding on my fireplace. The workmanship was great and the crew was there early in the morning till late in the evening and finished the job in less than a week. They kept my yard and driveway clean throughout the project. His company had roofed my next door neighbor's roof twice and I saw how well the work was performed. I had gotten other roofing estimates, but Shane beat them all. I would highly recommend Dayton Contracting Roofing.

Shane came out and did a fair assessment and estimate on what was, and was not needed, as well as providing a couple of product options. Our skylight was installed the following day, and looks fantastic!

A small tornado grazed our home and our roofing needed to be replaced. I called Dayton and a couple of others for quotes, and though Dayton's was not the cheapest quote, I was favorably impressed by the owner, Shane Dayton, and his responsiveness, so had him do the job. They did exactly what we needed, and what they said they would do, at the time we were told. The roof looks great and we are pleased. They were even willing to return several months later when I had a question about the chimney.

They were on time and very courteous. The work was completed in 4 hours and they even painted the new trim. The results look great and I have not had any more water problems. I would definitely recommend them.

The job went fine and the finished product looks great will know how it does when I get a few hard rains.

Excellent; professional and fair

Shane and his team were great! I originally called because I had a roof leak, and Shane came out quickly to look at it. They tarped it and informed me that i really needed a new roof (it was over 20 years old and had wind damage). He provided me with several options, and even came out a couple of times to show me samples, as I had a hard time making up my mind. The installation team was professional, and did a great job. I would definitely recommend Shane and his team!
