It was a good experience, I would recommend them. The mechanics did a good job. They waiting room was good, they have loaner cars for you if you need one.

It was very unsatisfactory. I have had service with them continuously over the last three weeks. My battery was dead, and in Texas because it is so hot, and if you leave your car outside during the summer, it bakes everything. Batteries usually only last a couple of years, and then you have to replace them. These high temperatures are really hard on batteries. So anyways, I took my car in because my battery was dead. They replaced my battery, and they also did a test. They kept my car for three hours while I was sitting there. They came out and gave me a list of everything that needed to be fixed. They told me they would need to keep the car for two days to fix everything. I told them I couldn't do it right now or give them my car, but said I would bring it back on Thursday morning, and they could have it Thursday and Friday, and I would then come pick it up. Nobody called me. I then called them on Friday, and they told me that it wasn't done and that I would have to pick it up on Tuesday. That was four days, including the weekend made it six days. I told them I needed a loaner car, and they said they didn't have one for me. I came down, got my car, and kept it for the weekend. I gave it back to them that Thursday and Friday. They thought my transmission was broken, and it ended up not being broken. That's why they kept my car for four days, because they were doing all of these exhaustive tests to ensure that it wasn't broken. They had two things on the list: they told me the left and rear motor mount needed to be replaced. They gave me a price of $590 for the rear and $270 for the sides. I balked. I had been there earlier to have my belt change. When you have it changed it goes all over the place. I had only driven my car 1005 miles in the last five months, and it's garaged. I didn't know why the motor mount wasn't on the list when I came in for the belt. They said it just happens, and I told them I didn't believe them. Since I have been going there for 15 years, I know a mechanic that was retired from there who does work on the side. I went and bought the rear and side motor mount parts from them and scheduled an appointment with this mechanic. He did the job. He called me up to come pick up the car, and only replaced the left motor mount. He told me that my rear motor mount is like new. My car is 17 years old and has only 81,000 miles on it. He told me he wasn't going to rip me off. I went back to David McDavid and told the parts manager that an Acura mechanic went through it, and that the rear motor mount did not need to be replaced. That service would've been $590. I will never go back there again. Never. It is just not ethical to say I needed to replace all of my motor mounts, when I don't. I'd like to go back there and have them take a picture of the motor mount because it's obvious if it needs to be replaced or not. They have entirely lost my trust.

I took my 2008 Acura TL in for a factory recall on the power steering hose. After waiting the service manager came out and said I also needed to have the power steering pump replaced at a cost of approximately $500.00 because it was leaking also. I asked to talk to the mechanic and questioned him about it. He seemed suprised and nervous when I asked him questions about the pump leak. He could not show me anything specific and did not replicate the pump leaking with the car running. He just flashed his penlight at the pump and said it was leaking. I told him that I did not believe the hose, and the pump would go bad simultaneously and since he could not show me a leak at the pump or seals, I declined the repair and drove the car home. It has not leaked a drop since.

After doing some research I found out there is a replacable O-ring on both steering pump hoses that can be replaced. When the leaking high pressure hose was replaced I assume a new O-ring was added. Eventhough the reservoir or low pressure side hose was not leaking, I was not informed that the O-ring , which is a common source of leaking, could be replaced easily at a minimal cost. The video listed below explains the O-ring replacement.
I have no complaints with the promptness and courtesy at this dealership.
I also included a general article from Edmunds.com about car dealership service departments and how some service advisers are paid commissions for upsales.

Very well. WE waited until the last minute to have the car checked before a 2,000 mile vacation trip and the car is 11 years old, so we knew it was necessary. They made time for us, even though we had not made a reservation in advance, and got the work done quickly. The car was returned fresh and clean, as a free service. We were very pleased.
