We had to wait for the door to come in and the color we really wanted was not available, but the over all job was good and we are satisfied.

Did a great job of explaining what was done and why. Besides replacing the broken spring, the door is quieter now. Very pleased with service and price.

We bought an old house with an old garage door opener. It doesn't have the pressure sensors like the new ones, so when you forget and leave a trailer hitch on, or the truck bed down like I did, the door just keeps coming and basically bends until something breaks. The first time it happened, we were able to straighten it out with the intention of replacing the door and opener at some point in the future. The second time, it was pretty messed up - the metal bar was bent and twisted and the door was buckled at the top.
I called Richard, expecting to get a voice mail and he answered. He said he could come over as soon as he was through with the job he was working on. I was kind of expecting him to try and sell me on a new door and new opener, but nope, he quoted me a very fair repair price to replace some of the twisted metal and shore it up so the damage would be minimized if it happens again.
He was very thorough and lubed and adjusted both doors in addition to the repairs. I will eventually get a new opener and maybe some doors - although the damaged one just has a few minor dents now. When I'm ready, I'll definitely call Richard again.

I have used Richard twice. First time was installing a new garage door and this time is fixed the "cannot close" garage door problem. He did a good jobs with very reasonable price both times. He is very knowledgeable and explain the tings in details. I definitely will use him again for garage door problem.

Called Friday and scheduled for Richard to come out the following Wednesday
between 9-10 am to repair the cable. When he hadn't shown up by 11 am I called
him. He had done another repair in my area that morning and thought he
was taking care of me. He was very apologetic and came right over within
45 minutes of the call. Had to drive to his supplier to get a longer cable and then returned to make the repair. Took about 1/1/2 - 2 hours total to get the part and make the repair. The cost was $70. I would give him an "A" other than the scheduling snafu. Fortunately, I had scheduled to work from home that day and was able to wait at home until he could come.

Richard did an excellent job! We had major foundation repair done on our house and the re-leveling caused the garage door to get stuck at certain points. We have a double door garage and the opener on the left side hadn't worked since we moved in. Richard recommended a Chamberlain brand and told me where I could purchase one cheaply. After doing so, he came back a few days later and installed both (I decided to go ahead and replace the right side as well) in about an hour. After seeing all the parts when he opened the boxes, I was glad I had called him for the job. He was super friendly and even helped me switch out a 4-pronged plug with a 3-pronged plug for my dryer and helped me move it. Very satisfied customer. Will definitely refer others to Cornell Garage Doors in the future. Thanks!

Richard did an excellent job fixing our garage door! He gave it a tune up and replaced the front drive pulleys. Now it operates better than when it was initially installed. I give Richard an A+ for his quick response to our request for service, his professionalism and knowledge, and for being an all around nice guy. I would have him back as a service provider in a heart beat! He is highly recommended.

Richard did a great job. Door is big (18' x 8') and heavy and though only 8 years old the steel pipe that serves as the shaft/axle for the springs broke - original shaft was clearly undersized for the weight of the door. Richard replaced the shaft with a much heavier shaft as well as associated bushings. Richard was efficient at the repairs and did a good job explaining to me what had happened and how to maintain the door.

I called Cornell around 11:00am and met him at my house at 12:30pm. Problem was failure of the gear bushing in the door opening mechanism. Cornell repaired the opener by replacing the bushing and gear saving me a lot of money. He could have told me I needed an entire garage door opener and I would not have known the difference. I also had him adjust the door and install safety cables on the two tension springs. I was very happy with the service, professionalism, and the price. My old door works like new. I will use them again.

Doors work great, he provides 6 month warranty on his labor. I asked him which units to get, he was helpful (I got chamberlain with belt 1/2 HP). Super nice attitude!

Quick and easy appointment. Very nice and knowledgeable repairman came to our house and replaced the broken spring. He also serviced and inspected the garage door without charge and offered to program the in car garage door opener for free. As it turns out our car is too old and does not have a built in opener.
Great experience, recommended!

The result is great, was
accomplished very quickly, and he was helpful in obtaining the
materials. He knows everything you could expect about every kind of
door and opener, and is a pleasure to work with.
I don't text, but had no trouble contacting him on the phone or email.

One night when lowering my two car metal garage door, I was already inside and heard a vicious banging sound in the garage. I went back out and the arm of the door opener had ripped loose from the door, sent the attaching bolt flying off and bending the thick crossing metal strut supporting the door. The door had stopped halfway although nothing was blocking it. The middle of the door bowed inward and I thought it might collapse when in the raised position. This happened on Saturday, November 10, 2012.
I left a message with Richard Cornell, the owner of this company, and he returned the call early on Monday, November 12, 2012. We set up an appointment for him to come look at it on Thursday, November 15th. He was able to figure out the fix to the problem quickly, although we were not sure what caused it exactly. He was friendly and professional throughout, and repaired the door in less than an hour. I really thought the door and the opener were both goners, but was happily surprised. He explained in detail to me some basic procedures for maintaining my door.

He called to say he was arriving earlier than originally planned and did arrive about 20 minutes earlier than the original time given. He immediately started on the job taking down the old opener and tracks. After he finished the installation he cleaned up the area and gave a thorough demonstration of the features and controls for the newly installed opener. I would definitely call him again if we needed a new garage door in the future.

They came and found the doors had been locked so he unlocked them and changed a light bulb for me free of charge. I would highly recommend them. They are very honest and reputable.
