It's been a bit over a year since James repaired and resealed our roof with a rubberized coating. I wanted to wait until we had several rain storms before leaving a review. I have used Clear Choice for repairs in the past and had been very impressed with their customer service and the quality of the work. When it came time for a roof replacement I already knew who to call. They did not disappoint! Matt met the insurance adjuster at my property to establish a working relationship with me and the insurance company. Clear Choice negotiated adjustments with the insurance company and made the process easy for me. The roof installation went very smoothly (in one day) and looks great. I have had neighbors asking me who I used and I am always happy to recommend Clear Choice. It feels great to have a trusted roofer on speed dial - especially given the nightmares I have heard about fly-by-night roofing companies who are not actually locally-based.

I sent the request on a Monday and they said Russell would inspect that afternoon and commnunicate findings. No communication. I called Wednesday. They said they would talk to Russell and get back. 10 days later, no communication. Apparently too busy to respond.

The experience was awesome. Was buying a new house and needed the roof inspection to be signed off. During the inspection a few minor issues were discovered and fixed on the spot. They advertised an 'inspection special' on Angies list which was very reasonable and they stuck to that price even after a few touch-ups (mostly caulking).

On July 12, 2013 I signed a contract with Clear Choice Roofing to replace my roof. Prior to Clear Choice’s roof job I had rolled roofing on my patio roof because there is not enough slant. Because of that condition, I requested that Clear Choice apply rolled roofing on the patio roof. I was assured they would put rolled roofing on the patio cover. This past few weeks I have noticed that when it rains, the patio roof leaks. I called Clear Choice and they came out and said rolled roofing had not been applied. Several days later I received an email with a repair contract. Clear Choice refused to accept responsibility for my rolled roofing issue that they did not fulfill 6 years ago. If I had accepted Clear Choice’s current work proposal, that would not fix the lack of rolled roofing and the deterioration of my patio roof would continue. Instead their repair contract offered to remove 11 tabs then install ice and water shield and add 11 new tabs for $350.00. When I asked how much it would cost to apply rolled roofing I was given a verbal bid of almost $4000.00. Clear Choice bid was almost double the price offered by three other experienced roofing companies. I checked my original contract and realized Clear Choice had added on their worksheet under “extra work,” the following: “Add Ice and water shield under flat area.” Rather than providing the rolled roofing that I requested, they installed ice and water shield ONLY. I assumed I was protected with the rolled roofing, when I was not. As a result in the 6 years since then, my patio has developed leaking issues. After consulting several roofing companies I was told that the threshold in the roofing industry is to apply rolled roofing if the slope of roof is less than 412. The slope on my patio roof is much less than this, and according to common industry practice, rolled roofing shoulded have been applied. Since my patio roof slants less than that of the 412 industry standard, the work that Clear Choice did has created a much worse problem. I would like Clear Choice to reroof my patio cover with rolled roofing or reimburse me for another company to do the job. The estimate for this is 2300.00.

"Hi [Member Name Removed], If you do recall, James Brandon did let you know that we do not install the cheep glued down rolled roofing you are referring to. Torch down modified bitumen is what you was quoted on the flat roof 6 years ago and recently as well. You elected back then, due to cost, not to do the flat roof with torch down, so James helped you out the best he could by installing ice and water shield with shingles. You search bids and thought about if for 3 weeks before signing the contract. The work to be done was listed on the contract, nothing was ever "added" to the contract. You was aware that it only carried a 5 year warranty you agreed, signed the contract and sent it in to the office for production. If you would like the torch down modified installed at the quoted price, please let us know. Understand we will not install the cheaper rolled roofing that others have estimated. Did not like how they kept me in the dark during the whole process. No pictures taken after the work was done, but appreciate that they took the pictures after I requested it two other times. No one told me what they did, how they did it, and how it turned out....and just told me to pay over the. Phone. I just didn't like the whole process. I do assume they did the job well.

After all the heavy rain over the past few weeks, our roof developed a leak. Based on Angie's List reviews, I contacted Clear Choice describing the problem. Their representative Mike gave me a call to setup an appointment to inspect the roof. He arrived right on time, looked at the roof and came to the conclusion that it should be replaced. The roof was sixteen years old, so this was no surprise. I had met with three other contractors but Mike was by far the most knowledgable, explained what needed to be done, what materials would be used and returned to meet with the insurance adjuster. Clear Choice did exactly what they said they would do. The crew arrived on time, covered everything, AC compressor, landscaping, deck, removed all the old material, cleaned up everything and the roof was replaced in a day. A very impressive, hard working crew. Roofing is a hard, labor intensive job. But a good roofing job which will hold up against all kinds of weather requires attention to details. These guys really got it right. The job they did was truly outstanding and yes, beyond my expectations. We now have a new roof, that looks great and I'm confident it will keep us dry for a very long time. The only thing I thought they could have done better was how the drip edge corners were done. This really is a nit and just fine the way they did it. If you are looking for a reliable, competent roofer, then Clear Choice is your best choice.

Telling Clear Choice Roofing the urgency of needing the leak assessed, Mike came the very next day to assess the leak and inspect our metal roofs. Mike's kind and direct manner and his extensive experience made us feel very relieved to know the problem was assessed accurately. Further, his estimate of the repair was reasonable and his attention to our needing the repairs done quickly was very appreciated. Mike has lots of experience with realtors and inspectors so his experience was especially appreciated and pertinent to our situation. Working with Clear Choice Roofing was awesome. My estimate contact was Mike, and he answered emails and texts at all times of the day or night, even though I never needed him to. He was concerned about service and they matched another company's pre-steel-tariff estimate after the tariffs were in place. They also assured me they knew how money would work through the insurance and mortgage companies before I even asked. They worked with me on my schedule, starting exactly when they said, and finishing at their earliest estimate. They even worked with my plumber to make sure some venting repairs could happen while the roof was being redone. And I have a beautiful copper colored metal roof now. Yay! Unexpectedly, both their bank and my bank changed their policies about three-party checks AND my insurance company dropped the ball twice on getting my claim money to me (apparently an employee left the insurance company and didn't poss their work off). Throughout all this, Clear Choice was polite and considerate about payment. Eventually, I had to meet Carrie at my bank to get the check deposited so I could pay them. It was messy, but they were always professional about it. If there was any thing I wish they'd done that they didn't do was to let me know that I'd be picking up bits of roof detritus for a while out of my yard. My father-in-law's roofing company in another town told him, "we're going to do our best to clean up everything, but you'll probably be picking up pieces that we missed for a while." That's been the case in my yard for sure, but it's just small bits of plastic and roof tile that I happen to see.

This company is excellent. Gavin came to my home about a month ago to check my roof. He inspected it and took pictures for me to see while he explained what he found. I only needed some places sealed and he nailed down a few loose shingles. He also told me about how long he thought my roof would last under normal conditions. He was friendly, professional, and inspired trust! I paid the exact quoted price. I highly recommend this company!!

Initial quote was about $625, which was $500 less than another contractor. The prices stayed the same even after both companies looked at the other's quote: same materials, same work. There was one hiccup: our skylight was a slightly nonstandard size, which was not caught during the estimate. The special size was an extra charge, but it wasn't much and it didn't delay the project. I would use them again.

Mike and Shane are awesome. Knowledgeable, patient and very fair pricing. Walked me through what repairs were recommended and what weren't. They took the time to explain why and how the roof is supposed to work. Even took the time to explain it a second time so i could follow. Lots of roofers to choose from in Austin but these guys are the real deal. If you're doing work, do you're self a favor and have them come out and take a look.

This review replaces my first one: The good: Met with the project manager and he was very professional and responsive and kept to the schedule. The roof install went very well. Love the color and the roofers got the roof section completed in one day. Letf my yard clean except for a huge sheet of plywood that was left on the side of nmy house. Overall I was very pleased on how well the roof portion went. Room for improvement: I was under the imprerssion that the drip edge would be painted and the new gutter would have been completed on the same day and this did not happen nor was it communicated to me until I asked. Gutter guy did not call me to set the appointment asd explained so I called myself so schedule the work. The work was done and I am happy with the results. Because of this I will give them a B rating. However, I feel they can be better than that. Thanks

For safety reasons we schedule the gutter crews to do the install after all roof work is completed. With the 27 degree cold weather and rains that came in, we know this was delayed a week and apologize. We include 2 free sheets with every job, however as a courtesy the crews usually do leave any extra plywood behind for the customer if its not needed on the roof.
