Our hospital has used Clarke Kent Plumbing since before I became a director. From what I hear, they have always responded to our calls for service. All the good service in the past was completely thrown out the window this weekend when the service manger called his plumber off our emergency to another job while he was in the middle of clearing a clogged drain in our sewer system. From what we later learned, the business he was called to was not even open at the time. We were in a terrible situation with over 20 patients without toilets and no rooms to move them to. This act was very unprofessional and we were left with no choice but to get on the phone and find another company willing to finish the job started by Clarke Kent. I guarantee the company we finally found to fix our problem will get all our future business.

Worst plumbing company ever! Got their info from a neighbor and called them to fix a leak in an outdoor pipe. A guy showed up on time and found the leak quickly. It went downhill from there. After giving me a very high estimate which I accepted because I wanted to fix this problem ASAP, this guy started digging. About 45 min later, he came to my door and told me he needed to show me something. Looked like there are some roots from a tree nearby in the way. The guy gave me two options, either chop down the tree so he can cut all the roots without the tree falling down or reroute which will more than double the already high estimate. I was so surprised by what he said but didn't really know what to do so I ask him to give the invoice for what he did. He charged me 355 bucks and just placed the dirt back onto the leaking pipe. The next day I found another plumber recommended by a friend. He cut out a little roots, dug a nice trench, and fixed the leak for a fraction of the estimate Clarke gave me. It was outrageous that this company sent some incompetent "plumber" to customers and waste our time by lying and still charged the full rate for doing nothing. Do not use them!!!!!

Plumber looked at faucet, then went to vehicle to call office and get price.  He quoted price of 2 hours, which I signed for.  The job took 1 hour, which ANY licensed plumber could do in an hour. I have never heard of a plumbing company "predicting" labor ahead of time, instead of billing for actual labor.  I had supplied faucet.  This price is ridiculous, I would not recommend this  company to anyone!   I called later in the day to talk to a manager, and was told someone would call me back, but it might be next week. Also, the plumber received a call from his boss about customer before me calling to complain about the price.

I had just returned from a business trip the previous night and had discovered I had no hot water. I tried to relight the pilot myself and it wouldn't stay on, so I suspected the thermocouple. I called 2 other plumbers first (that appeared higher on Angie's List) but they weren't able to come out today. One of them recommended Clark Kent and said "they had some good techs". One of Clark Kent's technicians, Philip, was able to come out today, within an hour. He was professional and efficient. The problem was the thermocouple. He also identified a potential leak to watch, although he thought it would be ok after he had tightened the bolt. This is Easter weekend and I am ecstatic that the repair has been made and made well. The work is high quality and the pricing is fair (an additional $20 off coupon was online). I would definitely call them again.

From the call to the resolution of the issue, Clark Kent personnel were very professional and easy to work with. Trying to unscrew a stuck, very old hose from an outside water spigot, I accidentally ruptured the copper pipe at the connection point with the spigot. I called Clark Kent to fix it since they had done fantastic work in the past for us with misc. fixes. Thank you Clark Kent team.

My college ring went missing after two men from this company were in my home. The owner said it is my word against theirs, but they wear latex gloves. There will never be proof. All I know is that my special ring with my grandfather's diamond in it is now gone and they are doing nothing about it. I rent a duplex and my landlord is trying to help me as well. It was an emergency situation and this company is the only one who called her back at a late hour. She would normally not use it. I feel helpless and violated and it seems there is NOTHING I can do about it.

I needed then to connect the gas line which had been disconnected. They gave me a bid of $500 to do the work which I only agreed to because I was desparate to get my gas turned back on in my bakery before the weekend. This was Friday at 2 pm. The work took the guy 7 minutes. I should of been charged $125 or less.
He arrived at 12:46 and the inspector showed up at 2:20 (1 hr, 34 min). Most of the time the tech was in his truck smoking something or on the phone.
There was a gas leak and several other corrections that needed to be made.
The tech told me it would be an additional $1,400. I agreed only because in the restaurant business to be shut down over the weekend is terrible.
He was off and on my facility for the next 2 hours and 6 min. Most of this time was not spent working, he left once to get supplies, and then left again without telling me where he was going. I included this time in his "timed time."
I would of been okay with being extorted for a whopping $1,900 (my monthly salary) for less than three hours of work if he had called the inspector for an after hours inspection, passed inspection, and then asked for payment. BUT he called and another woman, Lana called me and were very rude and yelled at me on the phone because I refused to pay before inspection.
I offered a reasonable 30% and they refused and canceled my inspection. So my entire facility is shut down for the weekend.
I don't  have a fancy restaurant with financial backing but starting by working to the bone earning $7/hr baking out of my home and selling to coffee shops. I do not appreciate plumbers who not only know you are desperate to keep your business running and extort you by manipulation (they "are running out of time and will leave" if you do not sign immediately for their price/ they "just got called for your permit, do you or don't you want it," and so on). I don't appreciate being told there are no other options but also demand to be paid before their work is even proven good.
Three other times in the past four years I have paid plumbers before inspection. Each of these times inspections have failed and I have had to hire a new plumber, pay for new permits and pay for the work to be redone. I have lost a total of $4,000 cash, months of lost profit, and a great deal of youth from these instances.
I also am suspicious at this point that the work was done correctly. I know for sure that the guy did not fix the connections necessary on my ovens to pass inspection. I also know that he cut into the middle of a metal 3/4 in pipe and replaced it. But I am not sure why the leak would be there when I was first told that the leak was by the connection to the Ansel system. Thus further reason to wait till inspection passes.
I also do not appreciate being yelled at on the phone when I offer to pay 30% and the rest after inspection. Their secretary was so nasty she made me cry on the phone (granted I have mommy hormones and been working since 7 am on this problem and awakened every three hours in the night feeding bottles to a newborn baby because I am on antibiotics,).
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY EVEN IF YOU ARE DESPERATE. THEY are the extortionist type of plumbers and very unprofessional.

We had a gas leak at our house and our contractor called Clarke Kent.  The leak was on a pipe to the hot tub.  Had them plug the line to the hot tub and then pressure test the lines to the house (which is required by the City before the gas can be turned back on).  The pressure test passed and we called the city to inspect.  Inspector come out and checks the gauge the technician had installed and found that the gauge was busted and the lines to the house were leaking.

Josh, the technician comes back to the house, installs a new gauge and sure enough there is a leak.  I show him where all the valves are in the house and where the pipes are under the house.  He says he sprayed soap looking for leaks and found numerous small leaks under the house and that the best way to make the repairs are to replace the entire gas system for $4,000.  After losing about a week's worth of time while they were trying to diagnose the leak we read another review on Yelp that was eerie similar to our situation.  Customer said Clarke Kent did the same thing.  We called another plumber who quickly diagnosed the leak at 2 of the shutoff valves in the house and repaired it within a couple of hours for $300.  Passed inspection and the gas was turned back on.  The new plumber says there was only one fitting under the house that showed signs of being tested with soap, all the other fittings still had dirt and dust on them indicating that they were never sprayed.

Called Clarke Kent to complain and their attitude was very dismissive.  "What if the other guy is lying?", "What if he does the repairs and you still have a leak and have to replace all the pipes anyway".   Use at your own risk.

I've had them quite a few times for different problems. They were great. They always come out the day that you call. I've never had an issue where they can't come that day or can't come for 3 days. They're very professional. They work very hard to make sure it's done right. The guys snaked the pipe several times until they got everything working right. They should hire them. They're just more expensive than others but they actually come out and get the job done.

We used insurance to pay for it, but without insurance, it was probably cost $8,000. The cost with the insurance is just our deductible; it was $1,100. They were professional, quick turn-around, and as far as the cost, it was a big job so I think they were probably fair.

We came home from a long vacation Sat night to find the house had no water. The City of Aus checked the meter and said it wasn't there problem. Most of our calls to plumbing companies Sun weren't returned even though their Angie's page says they work Sundays. Clarke Kent answered out call, kept us informed as to the expected time of arrival of the technician, correctly diagnosed a not simple problem with the pressure valve, gave accurate estimates before work commenced and checked to make sure that nothing else was damaged that might have been as a result of the valve problem.
