At lease one smoke detector was driving us crazy beeping on a Sunday. I tried replacing the battery in one unit, but that was only successful for a few hours. I placed a call through an electrician locater service who contacted this provider on my behalf. Provider representative Justin Hatchett called me back immediately. He helped me temporarily disconnect what I believed to be a broken smoke detector (seven remained in working order so I wasn't concerned regarding detection coverage). He promised to be at my house by 8 a.m. the following day with a new smoke detector in-hand (at my request) just in case one of the eight needed replacement.
After I disconnected the one unit and hung up the phone with Justin, I noticed the beeping continued. Long story short, I hadn't realized there was another detector only a few feet away from the 'broken' one and on the other side of a door. I replaced the battery in that unit and all beeping stopped. I felt silly at that time, but was very glad I kept the appointment with the provider based on what transpired next.
Justin arrived exactly on-time the next day. He inspected and serviced all eight detectors in about 45 minutes. I'm glad he did so because he not only replaced the batteries in the remaining seven units (I provided these) and reconnected what I thought was a 'broken' unit, but connected loose wiring in most of the units (a sad thing to note because this house is just one year old). It was my mistake that resulted in Justin bringing with him an unneeded new smoke detector, so I paid him for it and am keeping it as a backup unit. The one-hour service call was $125.00 (would have been $75.00 per hour for each additional hour had it been needed). I don't know if the sales tax of $4.28 would have been included in the cost if I had not kept the new smoke detector.
All-in-all, it was a good experience dealing with this provider. Justin was helpful on the phone, made and kept the earliest appointment with me he could, dealt with an oversized ladder (including moving it and setting it up to service each detector and returning it to my garage upon completion of the job). He was always professional and addressed all of my questions and concerns knowledgeably.
I would definitely recommend this provider to handle electrical issues (which I believe is a newly-established service for them).
They walked me through everything happening with the unit and showed me the recommende d repairs and their estimates were spot on. NO SURPRISES! They were courteous, profession al, on time, and their rates are reasonable . I won't use anyone else for my heating and cooling system from now on.
I strongly recommend City Wide! 5 stars and two thumbs up!
When the freon in our AC unit lost all freon due to burst copper lines from a manufacturer's defect, we called the original installer. They 'repaired' the unit and charged us $600 for freon although the unit had a lifetime warranty. When it went down again, they wanted to charge us for a new unit and it quickly became apparent they were quite shady and were only after the money.
We contacted the manufacturer and asked for recommends on companies that would honor their warranty. They referred us to another dealer who after several visits told us they would not be returning. They said the unit needed to be replaced and that we should take it up with the original installer.
After much gnashing of teeth and frustration with the manufacturer (we are now in month 4 of the unit going down every 5-6 weeks), they recommended CityWide.
They said CityWide was their 'goto' company for problem solving issues. Working with Mike and his crew from CityWide was a Godsend! They came out time and time again over the course of the next 2 months dealing with this defective unit and always with such a great attitude!
Because the unit was defective from a manufacturer design flaw, they had rebuilt the unit a couple of times as well as replacing the freon each time and never once charged us. Finally, after jumping through all the manufacturer's hoops, Mike was able to secure us a new unit and had it installed within hours of getting the okay.
I know more than I ever wanted to know about HVAC units and the companies that manufacturer, sell, install and repair them than I ever wanted.
What I can tell you now is this: Mike and his guys from CityWide are the best! They were great communicators, did what they said they would do and worked tirelessly with us to get this situation resolved. They came early and were willing to stay late. If it meant working the weekend to get the job done, they were there and always with a great attitude.
I can not recommend these guys highly enough. If you go with them, you'll be happy that you did.
The technician that was sent out on my service call was very helpful and informed me of what I needed to do in the future to keep my AC unit running smoothly. The AC service performed was very quick and reasonably priced. The technician also checked all of the temperatures in my house to ensure proper cooling from the unit.
I would not only highly recommend CityWide AC and Heating, but I will be using their service in the future.
They arrived on time and inspected the system, then informed us of our options. Of course, one could be a new unit but there was no pressure to replace the system. They performed all work described above on the same day and were efficient, clean, and courteous. We are happy with their work and reasonable charge. We will use them again for further maintenance or to install a new system when needed. Our AC is working great and is much quieter now.
