CHANGO'S TREE SERVICE

We had a deeply disappointing experience with Chango’s Tree Service in Austin. Initially, they seemed very friendly and professional, which is why we decided to hire them again after using their services in the past. Unfortunately, this time around, things went very differently. Partway through the job, they told us they needed money to “pay the guys” before the work was fully completed. Trusting them, we made the mistake of paying before the job was done. After that, they became increasingly difficult to get ahold of. They did come back once and agreed to finish the work, but after that, they never followed through. Our calls were ignored, our texts went unanswered, and it became clear they were avoiding us. On the one occasion I did manage to get Carlos on the phone, he gave me a date when they would return to complete the work. That day came and went with no sign of them. No call, no message—just complete silence. At this point, we absolutely would not recommend Chango’s Tree Service to anyone. We had trusted them based on past experience, but this time we were left feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. It’s truly disappointing that they couldn’t live up to their word or even the signed agreement we had. We gave them every opportunity to make it right through multiple conversations and assurances, but in the end, they just didn’t follow through. A company’s reputation is built on trust and reliability, and unfortunately, Chango’s has shown they can’t be counted on.

They were on time came and knocked it out fast, cleaned up everything.  For the last three years we have been using Changos, and with multiple quotes, they always come in at the best price.  The next best wanted $400 more for same service.

Absolute nightmare.  Want to butcher your trees and cause irreparable damage, hire this company !!!! 
The owner of Changos showed up with a 3 man crew, told them the scope of work needed to be done in just under 3 minutes and immediately left the premises and crew unattended with no supervision.  Within 15 minutes, the tree trimmer completely disconfigured an 30 year established tree, removed 1/3 of the total upper canopy despite only being instructed to remove the lowest hanging branches in close contact with the roof.  By the time I walked out, 1/3 of the canopy was gone and the tree trimmer was attempting to remove the main trunk of the tree which would have killed the entire tree.
The owners of Changos showed back up after an emergency call into him, said sorry, took the crews and left.  Despite promises to return the next day and try to at least offer some assistance, turned off his phone, did not take calls or return messages.
Left with a totally disconfigured tree and absolute nightmare....

Arrived early and had everything done by about 4pm. Very efficient and professional. Cleaned everything up and not leave my yard torn up or littered. Am extremely pleased with the job!

They gave me the best price out of three companies to trim my giant palm tree and the rest of the trees in my yard. They showed up, did the job quickly, and cleaned up everying. I referred them to a few friends then, and I've contacted them again for a quote for this year.

They arrived and begin cutting up the tree and loading it into a trailer (their chipper was broken). They were through in 3 hours.

Chango's gave us an estimate on performing a lot of tree trimming, clearing and some landscape work. The price they quoted us was very cheap for the amount of work they were promising to do. When the day came to perform the work, they didn't show up. I called them mid-morning to find out they had the date wrong on their calendar, so we postponed to the next day. The next day came and they were running over on another job and could not make it out, so we pushed it out another day. When they finally got on site and got started, they worked really hard and produced good results, but the job turned out to be way bigger than they could handle in the amount of time they had scheduled and they couldn't get everything done. This left us in a bind and caused us to have to call other landscapers to get the work finished. If you work with Chango's in the future, just be sure they understand exactly how much work is involved and make sure they are prepared to work as many days as it takes to get it done.

Went well - I have used them once before about a year earlier without complaints. I was not home the first time service was performed (we got their info from our neighbors who used them a few weeks earlier with good results) and they let themselves into our back yard and cleaned up great. The second time we were home and again everything was great. No complaints.

They had to cut this very large tree into really small pieces because our backyard was completely fenced in, and they had to pick the pieces up to remove them. They cleaned up everything when they were done and they were real quick about their work. Their price was excellent for the work they did.
