We engaged Central Texas Tree Care for trimming 100+ trees on our property. From start to finish the experience, at all levels (people and process), was highly positive.
Joel Joiner, the Arborist and the Sales Representative, patiently and politely answered all of our questions using terminology that we could easily understand, asked a lot of questions and set the expectations upfront. The quote was sent in a timely manner and there were no surprises.
Christina the Administrative Assistant promptly sent names and contact information of references in our area.
Javier (on-site supervisor) and team arrived as scheduled and, along with Joel, "walked through" the entire project. Javier pointed out how the different trees (oaks, cedar, mesquites, etc.) will be trimmed. The entire team worked very efficiently over the two days it was at our property. On both days Javier constantly monitored the work and the progress of each person. He also made several excellent recommendations for taking down branches and trees that would improve the health of the tree or surrounding trees. Even though this caused additional work, it was done without complaints or expectations. Javier's approach to trimming is, artistic. After the trimming was completed our trees looked clean, tall and like huge bouquets. The post trimming cleaning was done very well and the stumps were ground below surface. Overall outstanding work.
We have used other trees services in past, but Central Texas, in our opinion, is the best. We asked for and, were promptly, provided with a very reasonable quote for fertilization of our trees. We are looking forward to working with Central Texas Tree Services again.
I've used them several times and each experience has been excellent.
I would definitely recommend using this company for your tree needs!
Everything went as planned. The crew was knowledgeable, courteous, forthcoming with information and got the job done within the quoted time frame. They even threw in a little extra work, as an aside. I'll definitely use them again.
The owner Andy Johnson came to inspect the trees that were in distress and recommended a course of action that would preserve as much of the live trees as possible. He gave us an estimate on the spot for the tree and limb removal. As always, he also made recommendations for helping the trees survive another blistering summer of drought, such as how to mulch (and how not to mulch), planting shrubs and groundcover to shade the roots of our Spanish oaks, how and when to water.
The CTTC crew (one climber and one ground guy) arrived on time and were here the entire day. We have a large property, so we always start with a brief walk-through to ensure we were all on the same page about what work will be done. On this visit, the guys cut down and removed a dead oak as well as trimming dead branches off multiple large trees. Per our request, they carried the largest lengths of tree trunks and tree limbs down the hill into our wooded area and arranged them perpendicular to the slope to create erosion barriers. They hauled the remaining smaller branches and debris up the hill and tossed it the chipper. Per our request, they left us with a pile of chipped hardwood which we are using to mulch our remaining trees.
The guys are thorough about cleaning up debris. They are also very careful when entering our fenced yard to not let our pets out of the yard. We recommend CTTC without reservation. They've done a great job for us time and time again.
My two top choices had the lowest bids and also had many excellent recommendations on Angie's list. Central Texas Tree Care had the best bid. CTTC was scheduled but, shortly before their estimator arrived, i was phoned by their office to alert me to a short delay. Joel, the arborist from Central Texas Tree Care, arrived about 20 minutes after the scheduled time. He was both friendly and competent, offering suggestions where appropriate but focusing upon what I wanted to accomplish. He even provided helpful advice on others trees on the property but without trying to expand the job for which he was called. He provided a written offer on the spot, accepted my oral go-ahead, and arranged for his office to call later that day and schedule the work. Joel indicated that CTTC has three crews and that one would be in my area on the 25th. His office called about an hour later and scheduled the work.
The crew arrived on time, actually a little early for a 1:00pm appointment, and sat in some shade to eat their lunch until then. I walked the area with Bill, the crew leader of the four man crew, reviewed my pruning needs and then simply watched them do the work. They were efficient and careful, performed the pruning in a thorough manner being careful to assure a balanced appearance to the trees, and did an outstanding job of cleanup. All debris was run through a chipper. All cuts on the oak trees were sealed. Bill, the crew chief was easy to converse with and he worked well with the crew. The job took about 90 minutes.
In addition to having the lowest bid (Joel had noted that this was their basic minimum bid), they were professional, thorough, and competent.
In summary, the actual tree work was good, but I needed to ask more questions and keep an eye out more for possible collateral damage.
