On Aug 1, 2024, I scheduled a consultation with Joel Joiner for 2PM on Oct. 10, 2024. On the scheduled appointment day, 2pm came and went, with no contact from SavATree. At 2:35 I called the company and was told that the appointment time was actually from 2 to 3:30, or a 1 1/2 hour window, which "allowed for travel." Utterly amazing as this was the first I've ever heard of any company/business booking appointments in this manner, without notifying the customer in advance. Expecting Mr. Joiner, I was quite surprised when around 3pm Andy Johnson, the co-owner of the company finally showed up, saying Mr. Joiner was no longer with the company. Too bad, as Mr. Joiner was always punctual and if happened to be running late, would give me a call. After walking the property with Mr. Johnson, I was given a verbal quote twice what they charged two years prior, when I had used them for the same scope of work. When I mentioned the double price increase, I was told that prices have gone up. Maybe so, but double? Mr. Johnson seemed perturbed that I questioned him and said the quote would be in the mail and walked off. It's two days later and I still haven't received the promised email quote. As others have mentioned, Central Texas Tree Care was sold and is no longer the company it used to be. Sad as I had used them for 5 years and planned on using them as long as I needed tree service, but no longer. I will be looking elsewhere, for someone who wants my business. Ditto with my neighbor who had also previously used them. It appears customer loyalty doesn't mean much anymore, at least to Andy Johnson and his new SavATree...

Excellent in all respects. The estimator and crews were always on time or even early, the work was done competently and efficiently, the neighbors praised their work for having done no damage and having left no debris in their yards. Our yard also was well cleaned up afterward. Despite the big size of these trees and that they were close to structures and other trees, no significant harm was done to smaller trees, and the nearby structures also were not damaged. In addition, the price was quite reasonable.

They are good. They are very professional. They could tell me what was wrong on some of the shrubs. He is really wonderful. I really appreciate them being knowledgeable.

The project went very well. The crew arrived on time and completed the work as estimated. The crew chief consulted me a couple of times to make sure the trees were trimmed to my satisfaction. Clean up was satisfactory.

Excellent! They showed-up on-time both days. The crew chief introduced himself before beginning work and verified the work that needed to be done. It took them 2 days but they did a great job! And, their estimate was lower than the other estimate that I had received.

I had used Central Texas Tree Care several years ago and was so happy with the work done that I called them again. This time, in addition to having my trees trimmed, I needed to find out what was wrong with my Monterey Oaks, because the leaves were wilting. The arborist who has come out both times, Joel Joiner, was able to determine that I had aphids and arranged for my trees to be sprayed. I plan to continue using them.

Excellent service, cleaned up behind themselves, left everything in great shape.  Best offer we received from several companies for a full-day of service.  Will use again next year.

I contacted Central Texas Tree Care to get a second opinion on an very old ash tree at a property we had just purchased. We thought for sure the tree needed to be removed but did not want to lose the largest and stateliest tree at our new home. Andy came to do a free estimate and was punctual to the appointment. He spent a good amount of time talking to me about my trees and explained why he did not think the ash needed to be removed but just needed a proper and updated trimming. I learned a lot from him and did not feel he was trying to rush through the estimate. I scheduled for the company to come out and perform the trimming and the crew was also punctual. I am very pleased with the entire process with this company and my tree looks great and healthy. I would not hesitate to hire Central Texas Tree Care again, they are wonderful!

We engaged Central Texas Tree Care for trimming 100+ trees on our property. From start to finish the experience, at all levels (people and process), was highly positive.

Joel Joiner, the Arborist and the Sales Representative, patiently and politely answered all of our questions using  terminology that we could easily understand, asked a lot of questions and set the expectations upfront. The quote was sent in a timely manner and there were no surprises.

Christina the Administrative Assistant promptly sent names and contact information of references in our area.

Javier (on-site supervisor) and team arrived as scheduled and, along with Joel, "walked through" the entire project. Javier pointed out how the different trees (oaks, cedar, mesquites, etc.) will be trimmed. The entire team worked very efficiently over the two days it was at our property. On both days Javier constantly monitored the work and the progress of each person. He also made several excellent recommendations for taking down branches and trees that would improve the health of the tree or surrounding trees. Even though this caused additional work, it was done without complaints or expectations. Javier's approach to trimming is, artistic. After the trimming was completed our trees looked clean, tall and like huge bouquets. The post trimming cleaning was done very well and the stumps were ground below surface. Overall outstanding work.

We have used other trees services in past, but Central Texas, in our opinion, is the best. We asked for and, were promptly, provided with a very reasonable quote for fertilization of our trees. We are looking forward to working with Central Texas Tree Services again.

Arborist Joel one again arrived as scheduled and we went over the work-- very quick response, very knowledgable. The work was scheduled immediately and took place within a very days. The crew also was very nice and professional -- all work was completed and thorough clean-up. Much care was given for the stump grinding as stumps were located very near the fence. Joel was present again went the crew started and also completed a follow- up call to be sure all work was done and to our satisfaction. The office staff Christine is very nice and professional as well. We used this tree professional company before and when needed will be sure to use them again. Great professional work safely completed --great price for all this work!!!!!

They arrived on time, removed the tree and chipped the branches immediately with their chipper.  They then ground the stump down below grade.  They replaced the stones back , which were around the tree.  They raked the yard and removed all debris.  It took a four member crew two hours to do the complete job.  When they left, everything was as it should be.  Nice Job!

Outstanding.  I've used this company several times before and they are excellent.  Workers trained very well.  Arborists extremely knowledgeable, experienced and candid.  I use them for 2 reasons:  outstanding work and they pay worker's compensation for their workers something most arborist companies do not do.
I've used them several times and each experience has been excellent.

Amazing!  They arrived on time, surveyed the situation, and within about an hour and a half, had both trees taken down, all branches run through the chipper, and the areas cleaned of debris.
I would definitely recommend using this company for your tree needs!

Joel Joiner was my point of contact.  I was immediately impressed upon first meeting him.  He was SOO much more knowledgeable than the other 2 services that came out to give me estimates.  He picked up on fact that my pear tree was dead (though it didn't look it), something which the other companies didn't mention.  Tree would have fallen over on my house otherwise.  He also shaped some of my trees which needed it, so I have a reasonable expectation of having a beautiful Texas mountain laurel in the future; and a lovely, productive fig tree again.
Everything went as planned.  The crew was knowledgeable, courteous, forthcoming with information and got the job done within the quoted time frame.  They even threw in a little extra work, as an aside.  I'll definitely use them again.

CTTC has been our tree service of choice for nearly a decade. They are not the least expensive tree service in town, but they are knowledgeable, professional, careful and thorough - and they are passionate about preserving the health of the trees.
The owner Andy Johnson came to inspect the trees that were in distress and recommended a course of action that would preserve as much of the live trees as possible. He gave us an estimate on the spot for the tree and limb removal. As always, he also made recommendations for helping the trees survive another blistering summer of drought, such as how to mulch (and how not to mulch), planting shrubs and groundcover to shade the roots of our Spanish oaks, how and when to water.
The CTTC crew (one climber and one ground guy) arrived on time and were here the entire day. We have a large property, so we always start with a brief walk-through to ensure we were all on the same page about what work will be done. On this visit, the guys cut down and removed a dead oak as well as trimming dead branches off multiple large trees. Per our request, they carried the largest lengths of tree trunks and tree limbs down the hill into our wooded area and arranged them perpendicular to the slope to create erosion barriers. They hauled the remaining smaller branches and debris up the hill and tossed it the chipper. Per our request, they left us with a pile of chipped hardwood which we are using to mulch our remaining trees.
The guys are thorough about cleaning up debris. They are also very careful when entering our fenced yard to not let our pets out of the yard. We recommend CTTC without reservation. They've done a great job for us time and time again.

I contacted seven tree care firms.  Only four even responded to my request.  These four visited my home, evaluated the work, and offered estimates.  Only two of the four evidenced that they even paid attention or understood what I wanted done. All four offered bids, three at the time of inspection and one via email two weeks later.  The bids ranged from $250 to $965.
My two top choices had the lowest bids and also had many excellent recommendations on Angie's list.  Central Texas Tree Care had the best bid.  CTTC was scheduled but, shortly before their estimator arrived, i was phoned by their office to alert me to a short delay.  Joel, the arborist from Central Texas Tree Care, arrived about 20 minutes after the scheduled time.  He was both friendly and competent, offering suggestions where appropriate but focusing upon what I wanted to accomplish.  He even provided helpful advice on others trees on the property but without trying to expand the job for which he was called.  He provided a written offer on the spot, accepted my oral go-ahead, and arranged for his office to call later that day and schedule the work.  Joel indicated that CTTC has three crews and that one would be in my area on the 25th.  His office called about an hour later and scheduled the work.
The crew arrived on time, actually a little early for a 1:00pm appointment, and sat in some shade to eat their lunch until then.  I walked the area with Bill, the crew leader of the four man crew, reviewed my pruning needs and then simply watched them do the work.  They were efficient and careful, performed the pruning in a thorough manner being careful to assure a balanced appearance to the trees, and did an outstanding job of cleanup.  All debris was run through a chipper.  All cuts on the oak trees were sealed.  Bill, the crew chief was easy to converse with and he worked well with the crew. The job took about 90 minutes.
In addition to having the lowest bid (Joel had noted that this was their basic minimum bid), they were professional, thorough, and competent.

After contacting two other companies highly rated on Angies list and getting no response from them, a friend recommended Central Texas Tree Care. I scheduled an estimate with their arborist. Joel came out and arrived exactly when scheduled. He was very professional and we discussed everything that needed to be done. He then went to his truck and wrote up an estimate. I was very pleasantly surprised by the price. The workers came the next day at the time scheduled and immediately got to work. Everything was done as specified. The workers cleaned up everything, including debris already existing in my yard. I can't say enough good things about this company. I am so glad to find a responsive and professional company and will use them again.

The owner took a thorough look at what needed to be done and gave me an estimate and description of what equipment would be needed. The work was scheduled, and started on the day stated. It took longer than estimated, partly because of some problems with rented equipment. (They hadn't told me that equipment would be rented.) They also hadn't told me that the equipment would leave gouges in my lawn. Clean-up was mostly good, including clearing away some things I hadn't requested but that needed clearing away. However, a few days later I discovered some moderately large branches that should have been cleared away but had been overlooked because they were in bushes. I had marked my vegetable gardens with yellow tape so workers would be careful to avoid them, but neglected to do so with flower beds, and one was partly trampled the first day. (I did mark it the second.)
In summary, the actual tree work was good, but I needed to ask more questions and keep an eye out more for possible collateral damage.
