Careful Home Inspections

I've used Careful Home Inspections twice and both times the inspectors did a thorough job in evaluating construction of a new house. Their reports provided valuable feedback to the builder on issues which had not been identified. I met an inspector personally for one inspection and was impressed by his level of knowledge of what is required for regulatory compliance and what should be fixed to deliver a quality product.

Did a through job, made good recommendations for maintenance as a bonus. I have referred them to many of my friends already.

The guy that came out was very professional. He worked with us been through everything. He showed everything that was wrong and pointed out the places where the house wasn't in really good shape. It was a really thorough and very detailed and he probably spent about three and a half hours there. The price was less than we expected it to be. The person that I referred them to also they do the next day for them.

Cliff Mark inspected the house that we were in the process of buying. This house was built in 1983. Cliff took great care in checking all mechanical systems and answered all of our questions. He provided a well written report in less than 24 hours. He is very personable and I recommend his work.

Now that my moving dust has settled,
I'm finally able to take a moment to thank all the folks who were
supportive in my first solo experience in buying a new home. 
One of the decisions I had to make in
this process was choosing someone to do my home inspection. My
realtor provided several names, but was ethically unable to endorse
any one company. In seeking out personal references, I was given
several enthusiastic endorsements for Careful Home Inspections. 
Cliff Mark did a remarkably thorough
job in inspecting my home. Perhaps he sensed my nervousness and
complete lack of knowledge in this area because he took a great deal
of time to explain all the details he found. He pointed out items
which were lacking, but not a cause for undue concern as well as
those needing immediate attention. I couldn't believe the degree to
which my new home was scrutinized. He passed all this information to
my realtor in a very timely manner and was responsive to his request
for further details.
I think Careful Home Inspections is
deserving of their name and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Cliff actually inspected two homes for us. Both inspections took 3.5 to 4 hours to complete. Both houses were pre-1980 and under 1500 sqft. The price above is an average for the two inspections. We decided to pass on the first home due to Cliff's report and found a nicer home at a cheaper price which Cliff subsequently inspected. On both occasions Cliff was already at the house when we arrived. During the inspection process Cliff pointed out major issues of concern, all of which are photographed. He also uses a voice recorder to capture comments as he works. He uses the comments to write the detailed report which, on both occasions, arrived late in the evening of the same day as the inspection, to my email, as a MS Word document with embedded photos, Cliff is very through, upbeat and willing to explain and answer questions during the inspection. He is also available after the inspection if you need further clarification or require additional information.
