Terrible experience. Not only did this guy do the wrong procedure on me other than I asked and was gaven instructions for and I reminded him again the day of surgery but once I was forced against my will to get put under for the surgery I ended up with even more Surgery! added on to boast up my insurance bill around 3000$ and I was told after that he never heard me say only to straighten my nose. That was by for the most regrettable part of my life was stepping into this office. To improve what this doctor did to my face is 30,000$+ and only a few doctors in the world can help. His entire additude was rude, patronizing and extremely dishonest. All this place felt like was let me get as much money out of this patient as possible, make them feel like its there fault and get them out of here as quick as possible even if it causes them harm. With his behavior I don’t see how this place is in business, it blows my mind that an ENT referred me. I don’t believe a single one his positive reviews because I don’t see how anyone could be remotely content with the experience. Don’t get surgery, risk is too high and patients are not protected at all.

A horrible decision, one that has been haunting me since I had the procedure five years ago. Buckingham was the 2nd doctor I consulted. I should have kept looking. I brushed off his short, blunt and demeaning tone as authoritative during the consultation. Long story short the alar cartilage (nostril area) was over excised (cut off). The tip was over projected and over rotated. And no one f*#$ing told me they sew the tip of your nose to your septum so it never moves or feels soft ever again. It looked both fake and unattractive. I was told these issues (over projection and rotation) were due to swelling (Not True!!!) and had a phone shoved in my hand to give a five star rating before some of the ugly effects could even be seen (deficit of alar cartilage). I went back after the fact and said I wasn't happy with the result he refused to revise the work (probably couldn't if he wanted to) or recommend another doctor. He was rude and demeaning about it, insinuating it was something wrong with me and not the objectively poor result. Then he pulled up my old picture with my big Italian nose and said he "would make that trade". I have since lost countless amounts of time money and self respect trying to right the wrongs this doctor did. Things I have learned: look for a rhinoplasty specialist (only rhinoplasty) make sure they're using the latest techniques be wary of ratings (there is no better example than this practice of how they can be manipulated to the point of no integrity) take care of yourself and don't rush into anything

It was mush easier and less painful than I had anticipated. Woke up from the procedure with no pain. Did not need any pain meds ever. Recovery time before I could go out was about 10 days.
I love the results. Very natural, rested look. Most people just comment that I look so rested. It's been almost a year. My only regret is that I wish I hAd done it sooner. I have no hesitation to have additional procedures in the future. Go for it!

I am writing this a year after my procedure because that is really how long it takes for the full results to be known.  As serious as any surgery is, I am very glad I had this procedure done and especially glad I had it done with Dr. Buckingham.  My daughter, who was supportive of my choice from the beginning, told that she had been afraid I wouldn't "look like me" after the surgery was done.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I look like I did years ago, and I have had my other health care providers examine my face closely and tell me that they have never seen such fine work.  I was told by a woman doctor that sees women my age frequently that she would have never known I had the work done if I had not listed it on my info sheet for her records (and she sees a lot of women my age that have had this procedure).  I am telling you this because as unnatural as the process may seem, I have very natural results and am very happy I had this work done.

Every person in Dr. Buckingham's office has treated me kindly, respectfully, and everyone answered any questions I had throughout the pre-surgical and the post-surgical healing process.  Honestly, I was scared a lot of that time and made quite a few calls!  The office was always patient with me and helped me accept the healing process and understand what to expect throughout.  I followed their directions as closely as possible, so I did my part to achieve the best results possible.

If I ever think of making any more changes like this to my face or body, I would most definitely choose Dr. Buckingham again.  For anyone seriously considering plastic surgery I recommend doing research online on the various doctors available and look at their performance records and compare.  The information is out there and Dr.  Buckingham ranks very highly within the parameters of his own professional organizations.  Don't just depend on an individual, like me, to tell you he is wonderful.  Look at his education ranking (top of his class), for example, and what he studied, in particular.  Look online at his videos explaining what each procedure involves.  Ask as many questions as you need to.  That is what his staff is there for and, if you have a meeting with him, be sure you write out your questions beforehand so that you don't forget something important during your appointment.  He will answer all your questions and tell you what he recommends for you and what results you could expect.  Good luck!

I started an antibiotic the day before the procedure and then, on the day of the surgery, went in with several prescribed medications I had gotten from Dr. Buckingham.  I put on a hospital gown, the nurse gave me some of my pills and I sat down in a recliner to read.  In an hour, I was sleepy and carefree and was taken into the surgery room.  I was only barely aware of the procedure and can remember very little of it.  No pain at all, not even any discomfort.  I think I may have slept through most of it.  When they took me back to the room with my recliner, my head was wrapped.  My wife helped me get ready and then took my goofy self home where I fixed a meal under supervision, ate some and went to sleep in the rest before I was put to bed.
The next day, I was up and around and driven back to see Buckingham that afternoon.  All was well.  He re-bandaged my head and told me to keep it on for one more day.  I took it off about 2 the next morning.  Had stitches in for one week.
It has now been almost two weeks since the procedure.  I never really had very much pain and a small amount of medication took care of that.  I stated racewalking again after 9 days.  Much to my amazement, the incision is already not nearly as noticeable as I would have thought it would be.  Seems as though nobody even sees it.  And it is healing and fading so quickly that I expect it to be just a line within a few weeks.  Dr. Buckingham will take my "after" pictures in 3 months.  He says whatever is there then should be something I will not care about and by the time a year has passed, only a little white line, if that, will remain.
Finally, at this point, I could not be more pleased with the result.  That loose, ugly, wattle is gone and my neck is now youthfully firm.  My neck profile goes right back under my chin and then down over my Adam's apple, the way it did years ago.  My side profile is completely different.  It is so much better than what I had before that the very first day I took the bandages off, even with the fresh incision, I thought my neck looked great from the side and my wife agreed. Now, with the incision area flattening out, fading, and my neck feeling more normal day by day, I could not be more convinced that I did the right thing, chose the right procedure and the right doctor to do it.  From the side at least, I look dramatically different.
