I love the results. Very natural, rested look. Most people just comment that I look so rested. It's been almost a year. My only regret is that I wish I hAd done it sooner. I have no hesitation to have additional procedures in the future. Go for it!
Every person in Dr. Buckingham's office has treated me kindly, respectfully, and everyone answered any questions I had throughout the pre-surgical and the post-surgical healing process. Honestly, I was scared a lot of that time and made quite a few calls! The office was always patient with me and helped me accept the healing process and understand what to expect throughout. I followed their directions as closely as possible, so I did my part to achieve the best results possible.
If I ever think of making any more changes like this to my face or body, I would most definitely choose Dr. Buckingham again. For anyone seriously considering plastic surgery I recommend doing research online on the various doctors available and look at their performance records and compare. The information is out there and Dr. Buckingham ranks very highly within the parameters of his own professional organizations. Don't just depend on an individual, like me, to tell you he is wonderful. Look at his education ranking (top of his class), for example, and what he studied, in particular. Look online at his videos explaining what each procedure involves. Ask as many questions as you need to. That is what his staff is there for and, if you have a meeting with him, be sure you write out your questions beforehand so that you don't forget something important during your appointment. He will answer all your questions and tell you what he recommends for you and what results you could expect. Good luck!
The next day, I was up and around and driven back to see Buckingham that afternoon. All was well. He re-bandaged my head and told me to keep it on for one more day. I took it off about 2 the next morning. Had stitches in for one week.
It has now been almost two weeks since the procedure. I never really had very much pain and a small amount of medication took care of that. I stated racewalking again after 9 days. Much to my amazement, the incision is already not nearly as noticeable as I would have thought it would be. Seems as though nobody even sees it. And it is healing and fading so quickly that I expect it to be just a line within a few weeks. Dr. Buckingham will take my "after" pictures in 3 months. He says whatever is there then should be something I will not care about and by the time a year has passed, only a little white line, if that, will remain.
Finally, at this point, I could not be more pleased with the result. That loose, ugly, wattle is gone and my neck is now youthfully firm. My neck profile goes right back under my chin and then down over my Adam's apple, the way it did years ago. My side profile is completely different. It is so much better than what I had before that the very first day I took the bandages off, even with the fresh incision, I thought my neck looked great from the side and my wife agreed. Now, with the incision area flattening out, fading, and my neck feeling more normal day by day, I could not be more convinced that I did the right thing, chose the right procedure and the right doctor to do it. From the side at least, I look dramatically different.
