"Although this rating is overall good, we would like to address the two D Grades. As for responsiveness, We were given 3 points of contact for communication. We feel we communicated well with the person with questions at any given time, but they weren't communicating amongst themselves. There was a contractor out of Las Vegas, who was hired by the owners early on the project, that wanted to move the project at a fast pace, disregarding the need to handle the water damage situation sequentially. We feel this was part of the communication issues early on, as the contractor was not present during the final stages of this project. As for punctuality, we were dealing with a water damage project. There are many variables on projects of this nature. The dry out took longer than expected due to the owner/contractor doing his own dry out, which caused us delays. When they said it was dry, we came back to find it was not dry and needed further dry out, which caused us another delay. The next time we came back, it just happened to be raining and we discovered that the water leak had not been fixed and we were asked to hold off again, creating another delay for us. These delays on the owner/contractors end were continuously backing us up into a fully booked schedule. In situations like this, we feel a little leeway needs to be given on scheduling when dealing with unknowns in a water damage situation. We are very surprised to see this rating from this customer especially when we were very patient with them with all their delays interrupting our schedule."
The second phase was even worse. It took Boatright over one month to finish the second phase. They used the wrong color wood filler than what was used in the rest of the house. They also used a black shiny epoxy too fill in knots. And, the stairs squeak. I asked Mr. Boatright to personally inspect the floors and he has refused. My general contractor said that Boatright was the best in Austin. He was wrong!
"This is hard to respond to without pointing fingers at this person, he asked for a $5,000.00 credit on the first phase for a small item that was in tolerance with the NWFA specification for leveling, he did not want it fixed just the money in my opinion, we gave him the $5,000.00 credit. Same thing on Phase 2, he asked for another $3,000.000 credit because we were not finished on time and some punch list items that had been signed off on by his wife., our schedule was late due to the incompetence of his Builder not being on time. We are usually one of the last trades to finish on a job so we get squeezed hard to make up the lost time. After we finished his punch list for phase 2 this job was walked and signed off on by this owners wife. In my opinion the owner was just looking to avoid paying his bill in full like he did on Phase 1and he has not paid his bill in full to date.."
