Austin Refrigeration is a locally owned heating and air conditioning company dedicated to priority service and cost efficient repairs. We offer free estimates and free second opinions. We have spent the last 25 years focusing on customer service and satisfaction. Our number one goal is to earn a referral. With that goal in mind, each of our customers are our number one priority. Expedited and emergency services are available to families with small children, senior citizens, people with illness and the disabled without emergency fees. Our Technicians are all certified and registered with the State of Texas, as well as EPA certified. We have many specials running, for example, $4,999.00 for a 3 Ton complete system install and $69.95 A/C or Heating Tune-Ups. This was a big deal purchase. That's been a long time ago. The guy came out, recommended the service and never followed through. He never came back. They came out right away.
The price was pretty standard, the same with everyone else. When they actually showed up, they showed up on time and did all the work but there was a confusion for them to come out. Once they figured there was an issue, they worked with me on that.
Tune up: opened air conditioner closet door and asked when the filter had been changed and reminded me to put bleach in traps. Said everything was fine and closed door.
Outside: Said freon was fine but air conditioner was dirty--offered to clean it for $125.00. I declined. I know how to clean it, just hadn't gotten around to it and usually it gets cleaned as part of tune up which is why I know how easy it is to do.
And that was it.
Price: Sometimes you just get what you pay for but in this case, as cheap as it was, it was still overpriced. Nothing I couldn't do myself. I've had excellent tuneups in the past for bargain prices and this was a big disappointment. Not worth the time or the money.
