AUSTIN ESTATE SALES

I called Mr. Asaro of Austin Estate Sales and the very next day he and his wife were able to come over to my father's house to evaluate the possibility of hosting an estate sale in Lakeway with the items left behind by my dad's move to another state. They were very kind and courteous, and took their time to do a thorough investigation of the available things for sale. Although the amount of items my father left behind were insufficient in number to warrant hosting an estate sale (especially in Lakeway where sign and parking restrictions make it extremely difficult to hold estate sales even if there are numerous items available to sell), Mr. Asaro and his wife were very helpful in making suggestions as to how I might sell, consign and/or donate my father's remaining belongings to maximize potential profits and tax benefits. They were very professional and logically explained the basis for their decisions. They treated me and my father's (sometimes admittedly strange) belongings with care and the utmost respect. I will definitely contact them again if the situation arises!

I sent an email on Sept 18th asking a question. Never heard back.

We contacted this business based on the information provided on Angie's List, and on the company's website. Mr. Asaro did not return our message for several days, but when he did, he was courteous and sympathetic, and suggested several alternative services. Unfortunately, he informed us that he did not do estate sale-type work that valued under $20,000. This is perfectly legitimate, but it would've saved us a little time--which is essential in our situation--if that information had been available up front.

I was looking for some help downsizing my life for an overseas move. I have a house full of quality items, such as furniture, jewelry, electronics, CDs, DVDs and even a vehicle I would like to liquidate as soon as possible. It took 2 calls and an email to get Joe on the phone, and I am entirely disappointed with the interaction. He was unwilling to accomodate my time frame and informed me, sight unseen, that and quot;the value might not be thereand quot; for the business to be worth his while. He then offered to put me in touch with some consignment shops. He was superficially courteous, but entirely unhelpful. His fee is 35%-40% of the proceeds, which sounds exorbitant, but that may just be the market.

Joe and Millie were a complete pleasure to work with. They are honest, decent folks who care about their work and were considerate of our needs.

They were very professional. They were very nice. They respected our wishes and gave us the opportunity to collect any personal items. If i ever need this type of service again I would absolutely hire Austin Estate Sales with Joe and Millie.

Excellent turnout for the sale. All major items of furniture and appliances sold and 95% of other items sold. Most remaining items consisted mainly of clothing.
