The project was completed exactly as planned and scheduled. Marcus is a true craftsman. He is particular and pays attention to details. He also knows how to custom build a door when the specifications do not match what is generally available. His specialty is as a door carpenter. If you are having door problems, Marcus is the solution. He is great! I highly recommend him.

Austin Doors and Trim is excellent. They came out measured, gave us a great quote and assisted in procuring the doors we needed. Once the doors arrived and were delivered to my home, Austin Doors and Trim promptly installed the doors. The quality of the craftsmanship is unsurpassed and the attention to detail was really impressive. I am having Austin Doors and Trim install some interior doors in the near future. What sets Austin Doors and Trim apart from other contractors is when they say they are going to do something they do it. That is huge.

Marcus was very responsive provided a reasonable price. Corey did a great job on the doors and was very efficient. The second job was very small ans I was surprised they took it. But Marcus treated it like any other job and was extremely professional. 10/10 would use these guys again.

We are thrilled with the results and Marcus and Cory were great to work with. I wish every contractor experience was like this. Marcus contacted us to schedule an evaluation, was there on time, and gave us a very reasonable estimate. He was flexible in the scheduling. He and Cory showed up on time and very professionally did the work needed. The exact doorknobs matching the rest in the house were no longer available. Marcus presented alternatives and we love the ones we ended up with.

Needed an adjustment to my back door after my foundation was leveled and got a great quote from them through Thumbtack. Marcus and Spencer came over within 48 hours, exactly on time and got to work. Said the job would take an hour, took exactly an hour including sweeping up and making the area look better than when they arrived! To add to this amazing experience, while Spencer did the repair on the back door, Marcus made an adjustment to my front door at no extra cost!!!! I was blown away!!! Prompt, courteous, honest gentlemen!!! Any and all future door/trim work I need will be done by these guys! Hands down the best experience I have ever had with a contractor!

Communication was very good throughout the process. They picked the new door up at Home Depot and had to remove its complicated shipping materials. Due to me ordering the wrong depth jamb/frame (4" instead of 6"), they had to build a 2" extension which was done very well but used pine instead of the mahogany of the rest of the door and frame. Getting mahogany would have delayed the work and added cost. Marcus advised me of this before leaving Home Depot with the door and I made the decision to use pine. The two guys spent maybe 12 man hours between them on the project, and the work they did was excellent. Marcus did advise me the day of the work that they didn't do painting or plaster work...... I was a little disappointed that I had to do that both inside and out. However, given the amount of work they had to do just to remove the old door and frame and install the new one, it was reasonable. Also, making the stain and varnish on the pine extension match the mahogany door and frame is nearly impossible which anyone who works with wood can understand. Not a huge deal because it isn't really noticeable unless you are looking for it. But my recommendation for anyone buying a new door with frame from Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. is to have Marcus do the measurements first to make sure you get it right. It is not as simple as it might seem.....

I was able to provide pictures and item number for the door I wanted. They picked it up from the store, installed it and took the old door away. I had a time crunch due to preparing the house for sale and a buyer that was keen to see it before it was totally ready. Marcus had a bit of a time crunch as well but still managed to fit me in his schedule and get the work done for me at the time I needed it. I am picky about who I do business with. This company is great.

Our old sliding glass door was deteriorating. Marcus and his team replaced the old door with a new one we had already bought. They are excellent carpenters and craftsmen. Our home is older and is not so level and plumb. They were very precise, and I could hear them working 1/16 th here and 1/16 there getting it exactly right. Their attention to detail was perfect and we are so very happy with our new door. Looks great; works perfectly. They were so nice to work with and I felt totally confident throughout the process. If you are doing a door, get door people. They do it everyday and they know what they are doing. We had gotten several estimates; we definitely chose the right people. We absolutely recommend them.

"I do admit that the project dragged on longer than I had wished, but I felt that communication was bad from the beginning. The doors I ordered took 4-6 weeks to arrive, and they only sat in the millshop's warehouse for about 5 days before we installed them. Much of the rest of the delay occurred during the initial scheduling and ordering process. Mostly it was due to trying to narrow down what exactly was to be ordered. I researched thoroughly with my vendors to try to find what she was looking for only to find that some of the doors she wanted were simply not made by any manufacturer. I presented several options for glass, and none were pleasing. I felt that I was being asked to read minds. I think (removed member name) thinks I am a door retailer and not a carpenter. Also, (removed member name) first made contact with me through my website and not Angie's List. The first sentence of my website homepage states that we are a service company and not a retail store. On a personal note, I almost passed on the project once I learned that the special trip I made on Saturday was because the work day meeting I originally offered interfered with her recreational schedule. I originally was led to believe the date I offered conflicted with here work schedule, but I later learned she is retired. I am very busy, as Austin just keeps growing, and in the future I will likely not offer any painting subcontracting or door sourcing. I realize now that I cannot be efficient enough at it to maintain people's time expectations."

Everything about this experience was excellent from beginning to end. Marcus was responsive to the initial request as well as answering my detailed questions along the way. The bid was fair and Marcus took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done and how the process would work. The team showed up exactly as promised, on time and with the materials. They were busy for the entire day and allowed me to discuss and review their progress throughout. No item was too small or too detailed for discussion. I respect their openness and professionalism. I feel their work represented the highest standard of quality. There was no smoking or inappropriate verbal comments. The team was courteous and respectful. I would highly recommend Marcus and his team. I only wish I had someone like this for every project on my list.

I scheduled an initial job interview with Marcus. At the interview we discussed what needed to be done and his experience and references. Marcus was very impressive and with that and references that included a neighbor who's acumen I respect I hired him on the spot; before even receiving a price quote. When I later received what I believed to be an extremely fair price quote I was even more sure I had made the correct decision.
Marcus visited with me twice to measure the doors and make sure the replacement sets were correctly ordered. On delivery of the doors (Pella ordered from Lowes) Marcus scheduled the installation within about a week. Installation was scheduled for three days and was completed slightly ahead of time. Marcus and his crew were punctual, efficient, meticulous and made tremendous efforts to maintain a clean work area. The installation is superb. The work quality is superb. His crew even worked on another door that was sticking without even being asked to.
I would unequivocably recommend Marcus for door install projects (and any other work he would be willing to take on).

Marcus from Austin Door & Trim met with me prior to the work done to get an estimate. He was very thorough in the estimate and asked many questions about what I wanted done and provided options for when I wasn't sure of what I wanted done. This is very important to me, but he showed up on time and completed the work on time. This is critical when trying to schedule multiple contractors back to back. The work on the doors was very well done. As for the trim work, he did a better job than the previous trim work that was done in the house. I'm very impressed with his attention to detail, his punctuality, and his professionalism. I will be using Marcus again in the future.

Everything went well. We ordered our door and once it came in, we had Marcus do the install. His connections with local suppliers was very helpful as well. It was a bit tricky because our place is old and the original door that we were replacing was over 30 years old and it was in bad shape. After giving us the opportunity to see what was going on behind the old door and area, going over the options with us, we wanted everything done and fixed the best way, no shortcuts. The area surrounding the door was not in the best shape either and there was extra work that needed to be done to the studs and area around the door. Marcus dug out the old door and handled the "surprises" in stride and knew the proper fix. The new door fits and operates wonderfully and looks even better. And we know that the install was solid! The door's footprint is a slightly different than the older one, but the view from outside blends nicely.
A few months prior, our front door was replaced by a lesser skilled person. After a few months, it was clear that we shouldn't have gone the cheap route. Marcus assessed the issues (mistakes of the previous installer) quickly and fixed everything! The door operates perfectly.
We have one more door to replace and we will definitely have Marcus do the job for us!

We wanted a built-in bookcase installed in our living room & it needed to be built up against a pre-existing stone wall. I called Marcus b/c all of his online reviews were superb (he was noted for his craftsmanship, speedy work, and integrity). After chatting with him in person for a few minutes, there was no doubt in my mind that Marcus was the guy we wanted for this job. He ALWAYS showed up on time while the job was being performed & we had absolutely no concerns about leaving him alone in our home while we were gone during the day! We were blown away by the finished product & it was very evident to us why Marcus had received so many accolades in his online reviews. He is a superb craftsman, a creative builder, and truly a man of integrity!
I highly recommend Marcus & will definitely use him for any future woodworking and/or door projects we have.

Marcus came out for two visits - first to survey the doors and see what was needed. He made a separate trip out once the parts came in to do the work. He confirmed both appoints ahead of time, was on-time to both appointments, was friendly/professional and let no mess. He is efficient and does not rush. I would most definitely use Marcus for any future door needs.

Marcus was very nice, honest and fair. Marcus responded to my call right away and when he showed up for the appointment he listened to what I wanted and took his notes very well, I could tell he knew what he was doing and an actual profesional. When he arrived to install the door he was careful not to mess up the house or carpet and didn't make that much noise either. He is very personable, kind and down to earth. He did a great job with the install and went above and beyond, his prices were very fair and I will use him again in the future for sure. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

We were again extremely happy with the work that Marcus did. We especially appreciate the advice he gave us that helped us in purchasing the new door. The people who work for him were great and were hard workers. Marcus made sure we were completely happy with the work that was done--and we were. We're just sorry that we don't have any more doors for him to fix or replace.
Marcus didn't think the front door was worth saving and took measurements for a replacement door. We still haven't made a final decision on what door to buy, but Marcus did a fantastic job fixing the back door. He completely removed the door, leveled the frame and rehung the door. It's so nice to be able to open and close the door without any effort. As soon as we decide on the front door we'll be calling Marcus to install it. We're so happy that Angie's List led us to Marcus and recommend him highly.

We'd totally recommend Marcus! He did exactly what we asked for and he stuck to the quote - he even threw in some extra labor like weather proofing our front door. We're super happy with the work he did and will probably call him back once we're ready for other doors to be replaced. I was willing to have the work done when he was not so booked up, but he fixed the problem right then - took about a half hour, door is now snug and latches fine.
And he did not charge anything.

From the first time Marcus came to check out the problem areas, to the day of installation, he and his team were responsive, punctual and meticulous to details. Definitely felt like we were given their undivided attention and they stayed late on a Friday night to get the job done. Very much appreciate his communication and pride in craftsmanship. Came out and measured. We picked out a storm door and inside back door at a retail store. Marcus picked it up and delivered along with materials needed to complete the job. Job was done in a timely, professional manner. He hauled away old door and cleaned up the area well.
