Two days ago, I sent a request via the company website and today Scott visited my home to do a tree consultation. The consultation is one hour and $100. Scott is a professional arborist and will give you advice independent of the services that he can offer later. The consultation lasted an hour, and the report he gives is all oral. So, he encourages you to take as many notes as you need. He taught me what kinds of trees were in my yard, ways to identify the health and strength of the tree as well as how likely it is to fail and how long in the future. He told me how to maintain my trees and how they should be properly pruned. He pointed out every specific branch that needed pruning (so that if I hired another service, I'd know exactly what to ask for). He advised me in the different ways that my tree may start to fail, and what to look for. The best part was that he recommended varieties of trees that would do well considering the geography and climate, the ways in which I use my yard and home (gardening, potentially getting solar panels on my roof), and the rest of my yard (existing trees, privacy concerns, etc). He also recommended a source for trees. One of the reviews I read about his service mentioned using his consultation services when inspecting a potential new home to buy. I think this is a wonderful idea! Should I ever buy another home in the area, I will be calling him up for another consult. The only thing I regret about this consultation is that I didn't do it years and years ago. I highly recommend having this service done before the fall, since fall is the best time to plant most trees (early spring for fruit trees).

Although not the cheapest ($1800. for about 5 hours of on-site crew work), Scott George supervised much of the operation himself and is a very professional arborist. Unlike other tree companies, Scott listens carefully to the customer's desires and makes sure they get implemented.

I was very pleased with the service from Austin Beautiful Trees. Scott is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I paid $100 for a consult prior to having any work done (this was worth it), then got a bid and accepted it. The crew came out and trimmed and mulched and removed all the waste in about an hour. They also spray sealed all the cuts on my live oaks. Everyone was very professional. There was a slight delay in receiving the bid and getting the work scheduled. I think there were some folks out of the office at the time. This was not a large job, so the company may have had some bigger jobs ahead of me. The crew neglected to mulch the tree in the back yard; I forgot about it myself until after they had left. I emailed and Scott send 2 guys out to complete the job right away. I was extremely pleased with this responsiveness and overall very pleased with the work.

Austin Beautiful Trees did a fantastic job pruning our trees! The consultation with Scott was very informative. He identified all our trees, noted any concerns, and helped us identify a short-term and long-term maintenance plan. We knew we needed pruning done (e.g. low branches over the road, branches hitting the house) but learned a lot about preventing oak wilt, when to consider cabling, and to be on the lookout for roots starting to encircle the base of a tree. We had at least two such encircling roots that Scott's crew removed. The crew did a great job pruning the trees and they cleaned up and hauled all the brush away. I really like Scott's philosophy about pruning the large deadwood and showy deadwood. You could spend hours pruning small deadwood not visible from the ground but why spend the time and money if it's not a threat to the tree's health. The crew did a great job pruning the giant ash tree in our front yard so as to leave a nice canopy but get the branches off the house and remove the low branches hanging too low over the street. During the estimate Scott thought our hackberry tree needed some major pruning. However, after closer inspection while pruning he thought cabling would be beneficial and added cabling at no additional cost (normally about $250). This was the first time I used Austin Beautiful Trees and plan to call them for all my future tree maintenance needs.

Scott and his crew have always been excellent and responsive. He showed up on time and did the work that his crew did the work per his (my) instructions. I've dealt with Scott for well over a decade, I find him ethical, hardworking, and he cares about both you and your trees.

I cannot recommend Austin Beautiful Trees highly enough. Scott is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He gives the impression of truly loving his work, and he's very generous with his knowledge.
We've used him two years in a row because we could only afford to do half the work at a time (we have a ton of trees), but he was flexible, accommodating, and willing to work with our budget. He came out to give me an estimate, and while he walked me through the process he gave me a ton of information about keeping our ten live oaks, and our one big post oak, healthy and safe. The first time we used him, his efficient crew finished under the estimated time and Scott charged us accordingly. The second time, he brought and spread some compost free of charge. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about how to hang our screech owl box to maximize the potential for getting an owl, and hung the box for free (and we had an owl within a month, by the way!)
Can't speak highly enough of him and his crew.

I have used Scott George's Austin Beautiful Trees for several years and am always very satisfied with his work. He has his crew trim quite conservatively so that the trees are free of showy dead wood without looking like they've been severely pruned. Occasionally I'll even ask him to trim a little more off, but generally he does a really great job.

George has maintained my mother's trees for many years and is also used by my son. I recently engaged him to trim the trees to prepare my mother's house for sale following her death. He remembered her and knew the details about her mature pecan trees he had cared for for 25 years. Not only was the tree trimming job performed in a professional manner but he went out of his way to schedule it before the City's brush pickup day in her neighborhood which saved us $100 in waste removal fees. His pricing is straight forward and fair and it was a pleasure to do business with him. He is one of a vanishing breed of small Austin businessmen whom I would highly recommend.

I wouldn't use anyone else - they are great. The crew is a respectful one and knowledgeable. He has been working with the same crew for about 15 years or something. He has been using the official core of the crew for a very long time. So they are skilled and professional. And George, the owner, he oversees the job and he communicates well. He is extremely professional and he has integrity. Usually I've had him also to trim my trees and think that they just have a really beautiful eye. They are not only keeping the trees healthy, but they just make them beautiful - I mean, their name applies. You know, there are lots of health and safety issues in why you have to take care of your trees. While having people do those things, why not have them also just look gorgeous. Their prices are very reasonable.

Pretty good responsiveness. Did have to bug him a little bit.
Work was done punctually and actually under the quoted price.
As planned, trees were cut at base; roots not removed. Some trees could have been cut lower to the ground.
Price was very good compared to other quotes.
Overall very pleased. Will use again.

We recently had to remove a beautiful 50'+ Spanish Oak located in the front of our house. By my estimation it was a fairly technical removal due to its location. Scott George and crew did a fantastic job! They arrived right on time and worked diligently to bring the tree down, stack firewood and the brush. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them without hesitation.

We have had Scott George trim our trees twice. Both times he has done a great job and has been a pleasure to work with. He has given me great advice on how to maintain my trees on my own in between visits by his firm. I have recommended him to others and will definitely use his firm again.

Two years ago I noticed one of my beautiful live oaks was looking a bit stressed. I live in Sunset Valley, so I called the city arborist and she came over the next day with someone from the forestry service. They suspected Oak wilt, even though it wasn't showing many of the symptoms. Since treating for oak wilt is an expensive ordeal, I decided to get another opinion. I called a series of highly rated tree companies and every rep I talked to was unsure of the cause of illness but many proposed expensive treatment plans. (some companies charged for the consultation). Scott George from Austin Beautiful Trees was my 6th interview. He showed up on time, was very professional, and spent about an hour talking with me. He was the only one who confessed he was unsure of what the cause was and didn't feel comfortable proposing a plan that might actually hurt the trees. He recommended Don Gardener (Don is a well respected consultant, not a service provider). Scott did not charge for the consultation. (Don was also stymied but felt "in his gut" that it was Oak Wilt. We did treat for it using a company that specializes in it) The following year, after the first tree had died, and many others around it had lost many of their limbs, I called Scott George again. I think his corporate background serves him well; he returned my phone call quickly, was here on time the following day and gave me a reasonable price (I interviewed two other companies as well). The day his crew showed up to do the work everyone was again on time and were very pleasant, professional and respectful of my property. (Scott has been working with the same crew for over 7 years). They did a wonderful job of making my sick trees look good again, which takes not only great technical skill, but a good aesthetic. Scott was here on the job making sure everything went well. in the past when I've used larger companies, I've met with very professional and knowledgeable representatives during the initial consultation. But these people have not supervised the jobs, and I have been disappointed in the crew that showed up to do the actual work. And here's the kicker, I had a vast amount of work to be done, he gave me the most reasonable estimate, then actually charged me LESS when it didn't take as much time as he thought! Austin Beautiful Trees is a locally owned company, and the owner Scott George seems to be committed to doing the best thing for his clients and their trees. (I've heard he's talked potential clients out of unnecessarily removing trees, even though it meant he wouldn't make as much money). I highly recommend this company.
