Jo is a true professional.  Very meticulous and takes great care of the pets in her control.

Jo is the best!  She is professional, caring, and went out of her way for us and our cats. 

Our experience with Joelyn was BETTER than perfect. Historically, we have had horrible experiences with dog sitters. Our distrust of dogsitters in the past eventually led us to board  our dogs in kennels. I must admit that I was hesitant to hire another, but we were leaving for nearly 2 weeks and have some new additions to our family. I called Joelyn after reading her reviews on Angie's List. She was very professional and friendly. She explained that she required a meet-and-greet to make sure the chemistry was good and everyone felt comfortable with her services. She came over to meet the family and meticulously made notes about feeding/play times/etc. The dogs absolutely loved her. At that point I was very impressed and my anxiety about leaving the dogs had mostly alleviated. After we left for our trip, she made sure to notify us whenshe made it to the house. She checked in daily to let us know the animals were doing well and even sent pictures!! By the way, did I mention that we left her with 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 turtles and 3 chickens? She also watered our vegetable garden, took in the mail, put the trash cans out (and in) and left the house spotless when she left. In addition, she left a 2 page report summarizing each of her visits. She also did it at a very affordable price. She was absolutely awesome!

Joelyn is the most loving and caring pet sitter I have ever met.  My dogs adore her.  She always shows them her love and care and does it along with leaving you a full write up of what your four legged children did while you were away.  I never worry when she is caring for my dogs as I know they are in the best of hands.
 To let you know what a wonderful friend she is to our dogs and family - over the last Christmas holiday our elderly Golden Retreiver - 16 yest rs old  decided life was too much for her.  Joelyn carefully watched her daily and lovingly cared for her in her last days.  Joelyn called me and she helped me by doing the most difficult task of having to take her to be put to sleep, at rest at leasti.  She was so loving and caring to my sweet girl and I cannot thank her enough for her more than caring way..  She is truly a wonderful and caring woman and feel so at ease when she stays with my dogs..  Cannot praise her enough.

We couldn't be happier that we found Joelyn. My shy kitty absolutely loves her. She even kept a log of what happened each day ("Sophie talked and talked; Sophie loved being brushed today; Sophie ran to greet me"). She even texted me a photo of my kitty. She also brought the mail in for us, even though I didn't ask her to. I knew right away that I could trust her completely. I recommend Joelyn highly.

I have used Joelyn as a dog sitter for years.  I have known her for many years and knew her to be a responsible individual, and was thrilled to hear she was pet sitting. She is one of two people my notoriously fickle dogs liked immediately (the other was my now-husband).  She sat down and they instantly jumped in her lap.  They would always sprint to the door when she arrived. As they got much older, she was extremely sensitive to their various health needs and I could always count on her to medicate my male dog accurately (he was on daily medication for dry eyes, among other maladies).  She leave a detailed log of all her activity with the animals so you know exactly what went on during the visits. Now we have a new dog, and he loves her just as much as the previous ones.  It is such a relief to know that he is well taken care of when we are not home.  She also waters plants, will start the sprinkler and pick up mail so that household items do not fall behind while you are out of town.  She is truly a gem and has an unparalled way with animals. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

!We've been trying to befriend a stray cat for 8 months, he hangs out in our back yard, won't let anyone near him but us, and dislikes being indoors, it's been a slow process, but he now lets us pet and feed him.  During our Meet and Greet, our stray cat friend came closer to Auntie Jo than any other stranger he's encountered.  A great sign as he usually runs away.  Auntie Jo's job was to feed him in the morning around 6am and again in the afternoon.  We were most impressed that Auntie Jo was willing to be at our home in the morning while it was still dark outside to take care of him in our backyard. It  was important to us that he be fed before the neighbor cats ate so he wouldn't steal food and fight with the neighbor cats.  We had both wet and dry food and Auntie Jo graciously carried the wet food with her so it wouldn't get too hot in the ice chest in the backyard as the temps were around 100 degrees.  She left a daily log of our cat's behavior and did all that we asked of her in a very professional manner, even though her charge was not very friendly.  We were touched that on the last day Auntie Jo stayed over 30 minutes in our hot backyard waiting for the cat to show for his meal.  He never did.  Our neighbors told us about this as our cat was visiting them.  Now that is exceptional service!  If you're lucky enough to get on her schedule, your pets are in great, caring  hands.

Having never used Joelyn's services before, she came to our home about a week prior to our departure to introduce herself and to take copious notes about the activities she was to undertake. She was extremely professional, and gave us a lot of confidence that our cats and home would be well taken care of in our absence. When we got back into town, everything was in good order and the cats seemed perfectly content.  Joelyn had provided us with a detailed written report of her activities and any events that took place while we were away.  Once we notified her that we were back in town, Joelyn then made a return trip to our house to return our housekey.
    Joelyn obviously loves her job and it shows in her attitude and work ethic. I would highly recommend her services!!!

We can't say enough good things about Auntie Jo's Pet & House Sitting Service. We moved to Austin recently and needed care for our two dogs, one of which is old and needs a lot of attention, plus meds. Twice now we've had to make business trips for multiple days at a time, We wanted both a house and pet sitter. Auntie Jo had stellar ratings on Angie's List, so we hired her to stay with the dogs. They absolutely LOVE her and she alleviated all of our concerns, sending several text messages a day, sometimes with pictures, to let us know that everything was going well. She also kept a log of daily activities -- when the dogs ate, had meds, walk, etc.  Joelynn, or Auntie Jo, is very personable, incredibly conscientious, and someone whom we would recommend to everyone looking for very reasonably priced, top quality pet care. We can only affirm what others have already said, that Auntie Jo is simply the best!

Aunty Jo is a God send.  Such a positive attitude toward her work, the animals and her clients.  She made up report cards on the dogs and told us all about her time with the dogs.  We came home on the 3rd of March to find 3 very happy animals who had completely enjoyed their time with Aunty Jo.  I would never hesitate to recommend her and I will use her all times I leave and I pray she is available.  Text messages saying HI the dogs are fine were very reassuring.  She came to meet and greet us before we left on our trip.  A chance for us  to see her with the dogs and the dogs with her.  An instant match.  I don't want everyone to know about her because then I will never be able to get her again = however, she deserves to be known and animals and homes are treated with such respect.  Truly admire this lady.  A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I paid around $40 a day.  She is amazing.  We have dogs and chickens; she came over twice a day and played with the dogs.  She gave us a nice report card of all their activities.  She was happy to take care of all the chickens and she even watered our plants.  She was just really nice and comfortable.  She also texted us pictures of the dogs while we were on vacation, so we knew they were okay.  She even told us how many eggs the chickens laid.  One thing about her is that her area is only in South Austin.  She doesn’t go out of the South Austin area.

Joelyn is fantastic!  We've been working with her for 3 years and she was obviously top notch from the first meeting.  She takes detailed notes in a log book.  These notes are used to create a checklist.  When we return from our trip there is a detailed log of everything that happened while we were gone.  Her detailed observations ensure that if any critters get sick we know she will notice and take action.  Additionally, she has a pre-arranged backup in case something happens and she is unable to perform her duties.

My cat was a show kitten, so she is a beauty and knows it. "Diva" has been applied to her many times. I had been traveling more than usual, and my little princess would hide under the bed until she was ready to come out. To her surprise, the previous sitters would clean her box, put out food, check under the bed to make sure she was alive, and leave before she made a grand entrance. Then she would be unhappy, and she would let me know about it when I got home. When Auntie Jo came to interview, Her Highness was front and center to check her out; and Jo got the paws up approval immediately. Since then I travel with confidence. When Auntie Jo comes by, she sends me a text message with an update on my furry roommate. And when I get home, I find a happy cat. Auntie Jo is now not only a superb pet sitter but also a trusted friend. I highly recommend her.

She's extremely familiar with the neighborhood, loves her work, and for a new girl in town, she gives great activity and destination advice! She's wonderful. Can't recommend enough.

Best pet care ever. She was great - tender with my shy kitty, energetic with the active one, came every evening to pet, play, clean catbox, bring in mail, water house plants, take out garbage containers - I can't say enough good things. She sent a couple of emails while we were away, letting us know that all was well. She keeps a daily log of what happens, funny stories or mentioning that food is low and we need to buy more as soon as we return -- really thoughtful. For future needs I won't even look for anyone else: Auntie Jo is the way to go!

This was my first use of Angie's List to select a service provider, and it was a delightful experience from beginning to end. I used the telephone number provided on Angie's List to contact the provider. In an enjoyable conversation, we made an appointment for her to come by my home to determine her availability and the scope of the responsibilty. "Auntie Jo" showed up on time for our appointment, and we discussed -- with her taking notes -- what I required. I showed her my house, my home security system, where the cat food was, where the cat's indoor litter boxes were, and explained my feeding and "cat spoiling" habits. She wanted to meet my cat to be certain she would recognize it, but my cat was being a cat, so I showed her a photo. She explained what she would provide, the frequency of her visits, and the rate for her services. I was very pleased with her proposal and accepted it. I began my trip with a call to "Auntie Jo" to let her know that I was on my way. As it turned out, my cat was inside the house, so I let "Auntie Jo" know that the cat and house would be safe until the next day. "Auntie Jo's" daily log shows that, when she arrived early on the morning of the day after my departure, she was met by my cat as she entered my house. She freshened my cat's water, checked to be sure she had food, scooped as necessary from litter boxes and cleaned up other "kitty gifts" in the house, and brought my newspaper in. She visited with my cat for a while, making friends with her. That evening, she returned to my house, put out garbage for pickup the next morning, checked food and water once more, scooped litter once more, and hung out with my cat. That evening, she also sent me an email to let me know that all was well. Her log entries for each of the six subsequent days are similar in detail. Having that log of her activities, in addition to finding my home secure and my cat healthy, was reassuring.

She would feed the cat, change the litter, and play with it for about 30 minutes.

When a friend wasn't able to watch my dog at the last minute before a business trip, I consulted Angie's List to find a pet/house sitter. Because it was the last minute, many companies were unable to help me, but Joelyn was able to fit me into her schedule. I immediately liked Joelyn and felt comfortable leaving my pet (and house) in her care. During the trip (and after returning home), I was quite impressed by Joelyn services, which exceeded all of my expectations. Joelyn maintained regular communication with me via text messaging throughout the trip, and also kept a detailed daily log of activity/tasks for my review when I returned home. My dog was happy and healthy upon my return, and my home was exactly as I left it. Price wasn't important to me when I booked Auntie Jo's services, but I am certain that Joelyn's rates are significantly lower than other companies in the area. Without hesitation, I would use this company in the future; I would also recommend their services to anyone.

I only sought a pet sitter 4 to 5 days prior to our trip. This was not enough time for most of the sitters on Angie's list. I actually reached Joelyn while SHE was out of town on vacation but she was very gracious and agreed to the job with plans to meet the cat when she returned to town. She seemed to have a good rapport with our cat immediately even though our cat has been more stand-offish than usual over the last few months. She anticipated issues that I had not thought of and took many notes on the details of the job. While we were gone, she texted us with an update and we called her once for a status report. She left a SASE for us to send in our payment. Very smooth trip. Did not worry at all about our home or cat.

Several things impressed me about Joelyn: She immediately responded to my email inquiring about her services; she continued to remain committed and responsible by showing up on time for our first meeting, taking notes, asking detailed questions, and instantly got along with my cat (always a good sign). She responded very quickly to calls/messages to her cell phone. What I most like about her method of operating, besides the obvious follow-through on the job, is the detailed "daily diary" she leaves for you about what your pet(s) were doing while you were gone. This is something that, I'm sure, takes extra time on her part but it is a nice memento, of sorts, of your animals while you're away.

I highly recommend this service to anyone that needs house/pet sitting. Very professional, loves our dog and our dog LOVES her. We have the peace of mind to go on vacation and enjoy it, she is an extremely capable woman that can handle anything that might crop up at home while you are gone. She also leaves a detailed schedule sheet of what transpired with your pet everyday. I used to hate leaving my dog but now it's a treat for her because she gets to spend time with "Auntie Jo", a win-win for sure!
