Iâ  ve lived in Austin for more than twenty years and been through so, so many plumbers. After discovering Alex and Al Mac, those days are over. Prompt service, went above and beyond to sort my somewhat complicated problem, stayed late to do so, very nice, very personable fellow. I have some health issues and he was very professional with my requests about following covid protocols. Just an altogether wonderful experience, so much so I signed up here solely so I could leave a review.

Friendly, efficient, great value, definitely recommend

Plumber, Mr. Al Mac was extremely helpful! He arrived on time and very thoroughly assessed problem and assured me that he had EVERYTHING needed to complete the job. It started pouring down rain and loud lightning, but he completed the job! Water leak repaired and water back on. I highly recommend this company and Plumber! If, (hopefully no time soon), I need a plumber, Al is my man!!!

They got right on the project, kept me well informed, and knocked it out of the park - Definitely will refer them to others and keep their number for the next project.

I really can’t recommend Alex and Al Mac Plumbing enough. I had a water heater break and leak all over my floor, then the shutoff valve to the heater was too corroded and would not turn off either. It was late in the day and there was not going to be a way to replace the heater until the next day, but Al and Desi immediately offered too, and came over that evening just to install a new valve so that we could have water to the rest of the house that evening. The next day they came when scheduled and did a very clean and thorough job with the replacement. Al is a very knowledgeable master plumber, provided multiple replacement options, performed exceptional work, and had very reasonable prices as well as excellent follow-up a couple days after the job was complete to make sure we were still happy. If you’re looking for a great plumber, Al is definitely your man.

He and his assistant were fantastic! They did everything they said they would, showed up on time both days, did good work, and even worked with the insurance adjustor so that they would pay some of the bill. Thanks Al!!!

Overall experience was excellent! We needed a propane hard line installed for a fire pit and the work needed to be done before the patio concrete was poured. They were able to accommodate our timing, offered excellent suggestions for the installation and did a terrific job. Price was reasonable for what we needed done. Would definitely recommend them and will hire them for any future needs we have.

I believe I had a terrible customer service experience with Al Mac Plumbing and Gas. The quality of work was not what I expected. The regulator that needed to be installed was broken by the Plumber and he has been unwilling to replace the broken part.

I had several broken pipes due to the snowstorm and cold weather Texas was clearly not prepared for, and even though it was impossible to get plumbers on the phone, I got through to Alex and he went out of his way to come to my house as soon as he could. Late on a Saturday evening, even though he had been working 12-14 hours for days non-stop. He also gave me an extremely reasonable price for the work he put in, and he did not increase his prices to extortionate like most other plumbing companies were charging during that time. He and his helper were very professional. I will be using Al Mac Plumbing as my plumbing from now on. I would recommend them to anyone.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff

I've done my minor plumbing projects (sink faucets, shower heads, toilet replacements and toilet tank parts) throughout my life. But major repairs I've had a pro take care of them. When my water tank started leaking out of the control panel, I went to homeadvisor. Alex met with me when I was available (that same night), reviewed the problem and offered several options. Bottom line: he installed a new water tank the next day. He doesn't brag about himself on his web page, so I will. Although HIS business is about 1 year old, he's been in the plumbing business for 15 years. He has all the professional credentials. Labor cost, punctuality, knowledge, integrity...super.

I had a great experience with Al Mac Pumbing & Gas. Alex is a knowledgeable and hardworking plumber who truly enjoys his job. He was very professional, polite and respectful of my property. He communicated well throughout the project to keep me informed and considering the extent of the damage, the price was extremely reasonable. Him and his helper are really great guys and I would highly recommend Al Mac Plumbing & Gas. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Alex went above expectations to help with a stinky issue. Price was high, but he spent considerable time cleaning pipes, etc.

Alex installed a Rinnai tankless water heater for me and it turned out great. Alex and his helper stayed late and told me they wouldnâ t leave until they got hot water running for me. Appreciate the hard work.

Iâ m so glad we were able to find Alex on short notice! We needed his help to hook up the pipes to the new sink, which sounds simple but required a lot of work to connect the garbage disposal and dishwasher. Our cabinet guy forgot to make a hole to connect the dishwasher, but Alex was able to skillfully make one using his own tools. Alex knows what heâ s doing and his prices were reasonable.

Great plumber. Took the time to really scope the project and understand what we needed. Had to work overlapping with HVAC and collaborated really well. Already planning to have him back for the next part of our remodel.

I got recommended to Al Mac plumbing by a close friend, and so glad Alex was able to find my gas leak. My pregnant wife at the time was smelling a strong smell of gas in the kitchen. So I immediately freaked out and called the gas company, they showed up and turned my gas off and said I needed to call a plumber to fix the leak. So thatâ s when Al Mac came into play. Alex found a massive hole in my gas pipe under my hardwood floor in the kitchen. I was a bit worried at first because I didnâ t want my nice hardwood flooring getting destroyed since I just had it installed two months before hand. But Alex was able to cut the flooring under my kitchen stove and squeeze his way under the hollow space to fix my leak. Was pretty amazed because I would never in my life try and crawl under that floor, yuck. Also Alex found a dead possum and some empty beer cans under the floor. Definitely had a good laughs over that. Guess you can say life is full of surprises.

Love Al Mac plumbing, Me and my wife just bought a house and had a leaking gas water heater, we have a large house that needs two gas water heaters to be able to supply us with sufficient hot water. Well one of the heaters rusted out so we called our home insurance and asked the insurance company to send someone out to replace our water heater. The insurance company had a plumber come out and replace the water heater, but the plumber installed a dented/ badly smashed up replacement. He also said he would comeback and take the old one with him. Well guess what, he never came back and wasnâ t answering my calls. Long story short, we called Al Mac plumbing because the new water heater was leaking from the relief valve and previous plumber was unreachable. Alex looked at the water heater and saw that the plumber installed a Propane gas water heater instead of a Natural Gas one. Alex ended up fixing the issue by removing both our water heater and installed one Navien tankless water heater that heats our 5 bathroom house. Alex also took all 3 water heaters and got rid of them for us. Dealing with Al Mac plumbing was an enjoyable experience and will have Alex do all my plumbing work for now on.

Had Alex out to do some plumbing on my Spartan camper that is from the 1960. Alex was real knowledgeable on all plumbing aspects that went into giving my trailer the 1960 look. Highly recommend and will definitely use him again.
