Well, frankly I was disappointed as I found sloppy work. Not what I expected. I counted over 2 dozen times they shot the nail in inaccurately sometimes missing the stud not but a fraction on an inch but by 2 - 4 inches. Equally surprising was how much of the paint was slopped so poorly that the colts dripped over each other & my neighbors joked about these guys being hungover or something..22

They arrived on time and started right away. 4 hours later and they were done.  Both guys were very polite and cleaned up after them selves.  Already had 2 neighbors inquire about the company.  I would recommend them.

This experience went more than smoothly from the very beginning. Max was very thorough with explaining all of the options available when we first visited the showroom. We ordered our little barn that day and it was scheduled to be built within two weeks. Pedro and Armando showed up about an hour late, but only because their compressor went down on their earlier job. They rented a compressor so that they could complete the job that same day. They built the whole thing in one afternoon! It was amazing watching their teamwork approach. They finished shortly before sundown and left our back yard in pristine condition. The unit siding and trim match that on our house, which is an added plus. We had shopped around quite a bit and feel that we got more than our money's worth with this purchase. FYI, not only does it look great, but their units are much sturdier than those of their competitors!

Affordable Portables arrived on time and completed the site built portable building within 4-5 hours. They built it completely on site including the roofing and painting. It was obvious the crew of two had done this before. They were competent and did a great job. Several weeks after installation we had a very heavy rain with heavy winds. I was afraid the building may have had rain leak inside. Upon inspection the next day by my husband and I we were pleased to discover that it was dry inside! Great job By Affordable Portables. Jerry and his staff were all very professional, friendly and helpful.

I had used them before. They did a good job. They will build what you need; custom build it. They are more than willing to throw stuff in for free. They are really good to work with. They have been in business for a long time. If there is any problem with the building, they will take care of it. They are a little expensive, though. I will use them again in the future.

And if I were to put aside the atypical supplementary materials I added to the design (for meeting the energy-efficiency goals for my work-shop), my total cost with Affordable Portable Structures was about $1300 under the best alternative bid I had gotten from other companies. My great-looking shed was an excellent deal! Backstory: I had originally hired Tuff Shed to do the project but even though their sales rep had visited the building site and I had gone through a LOT of work choosing options and planning the design, Tuff Shed showed up with the factory-assembled structure on the scheduled date and said, "Sorry, we can't place and complete it that close to the garage." To this day I can't say I understand why it couldn't be done and why their own rep had pre-approved the site upon personal inspection. So, Tuff Shed apologized and drove away. And then I heard from a friend that Affordable Portable did sheds of this size. And not only did they say, "No problem." to the tight fit next to my garage and the city-code rules on the property line adjacencies, they quoted me a lower price. The crew of three was joined by the owner, Jerry Fryer, for several hours because my unusual specifications and materials called for his additional expertise. (Mr. Fryer has made a number of national TV appearances including the Oprah Winfrey Show. In checking out backgrounds on various Austin builders for my other construction projects, I discovered that he has a strong reputation for innovation and regularly addresses energy efficiency, mold-avoidance strategies, and various other special requirements of Austin's unusual "climate boundary" conditions.) I appreciated having the boss' extra attention and supervision on such an unusual project and being able to pick his brain for part of an afternoon. In retrospect, I could have saved myself a lot of time and hassle if I had dealt with Affordable Portable Structures from the beginning---but I was new to Austin at the time and sometimes one can only collect all of the facts by plodding forward. I am very happy with the results and have recommended the company to a number of family and friends who have seen the "shed". (I'm hesitant to refer to it via such a generic term because the building was "stick built" and puts most sheds to shame.) I would also point out to anyone comparing companies to not assume that a factory-prefab shed is going to save you money. Yes, one would think that prefab would involve economies of scale and assembly-line efficiencies which would lead to a lower price tag. But in my humble opinion from personal experiences, factory-built appears to help the profit-margin for the manufacturer but doesn't necessarily help the buyer. And it seems to limit the options and value-added specifications that were very important to me. In my case, the tight-fit of my site requirements ruled out the factory-built structure entirely. So Affordable Portable Structures proved to be my best choice all around. Most people will probably have more basic requirements and modest costs for their backyard shed. But any company that can do such a fine job on my kind of special project is likely to do just as well with a more typical structure. I think you will be equally pleased with Affordable Portable Structures.

They were fun to work with. My husband went to their store and picked out the storage shed design we wanted. Then two gentlemen came out with the entire kit/package of materials to build it. It was neat to watch them build it because it only took them two hours to complete the whole thing. The shed is painted the exact color of our house and the shingles match our house as well.
