Ace Discount Glass & Doors

The process went very well. The only minor complaint I have is that I had to text them to find out where we are in the project. However, their response was reasonable and sincere On a positive note, which we have many complements: they provided samples of the glass options and were not particular as to how long we had them, RJ went out of the way to not only find our glass choice, but upgraded it at their expense to get a reputable and cosmetic improvement. He also had to look around as our choice was not in the norm of distribution (yet). RJ was very easy to work with, easy to schedule the time conduct the work, and exceptionally professional and cordial. He provided feedback on our choices based on his experience, and helped guide our decision without pushing us into a pre-fabricated package. The result was perfect and timely. RJ did a beautiful job with installation, and the choice we made was beautiful. I failed to mention that the price was great. While searching for options we would like, the cost to buy and install myself versus having the door of our choice and have professionally installed were very competitive. We got years of installation experience for a similar expense of buying a kit and doing it our self. Not to mention that the options available were significantly improved. We are exceptionally satisfied with the work done, the product we got, and the execution of the project. We would highly recommend this company. I did fail to mention that we contacted A rated companies for a similar job. One gave us the time of day, but could not provide the door we wanted (despite having the specifications directly provided by this companies quote). The other did not even want to try. Both had to be contacted after requesting a quote if they were interested.

On May 23rd, Marshall, representing Austin Discount Glass and Doors came by and measured the frame for the tempered glass and told us it would be a week to ten days for the "Security glass" to arrive from their supplier. We planned to be going out of town so he said then said that since the glass was in a storm door outside the house, no one needed to be home for the installation. I wrote him a check for the full amount $442.74 and left the retainers for the glass outside for them to use during installation. When we arrived home on June 9th, three days after the check had been deposited, the glass wasn't installed. On Monday, June 12th, I called and was told it would be installed the next day. On June 13th, Kevin & Saringue arrived and when they tried to install the glass, the wrong size had been ordered. Ten days later, on June 23rd, I called to check on the status of the order and and spoke with Marshall again and was told that "We'll call you when it arrives". I asked him for an explanation of why this was taking so long and he answered in a hostile tone that "You went out of town, Buddy" (back in May). On July 6th, I called, and spoke with Rob, and asked to speak with the Manager and was told he wasn't available. When I asked about the promised call and installation, I was told that a crew would come by the next day and install the glass. Ordered May 23rd, installed July 7th. Broken promises to contact us when it arrived from the supplier and a nonsensical, hostile reaction when I asked why this was taking so long.

Upon initial phone contact I was greeted in a kind and friendly manner. The price for their service was more than reasonable and they were able to take my vehicle in right away. I contacted my insurance company next to find out my deductible and discovered they covered this repair as a courtesy. I also discovered Ace was on their list of preferred vendors. A win-win situation for me. My repair was explained to me and then done quickly by a very friendly staff. I will use them in the future should I have another rock chip repair.

Once the worker paid attention and determined the correct address to go to (as we provided and not the address he thought it was with a similar sounding name but totally different zip code), he arrived quickly and after complaining about the address mix-up (which had nothing to do with us)  he replaced the window very quickly. One of the problems is that he should have taken maybe 2 (two) more minutes to clean up after himself by picking up strips of caulking he removed and the pieces of glass off the sidewalk directly under the window which is the walkway up to the front door (he spent less than 15 minutes replacing the window). These were not specs of glass, there were at least 4 or 5 pieces at least 1 inch or more in length that someone could have been cut with (especially the children that were about to move in that if nothing else could possibly have been drawn to the shinny pieces to go pick them up and get cut !)   Secondly, I called and finally got a hold of the owner that didn't return my call after leaving a message to that effect with one of his employees. I informed him of the state the area was left in once the work was completed and the workers attitude regarding the address issue and the fact that we had to clean up after him. I offered to e-mail him the pictures I took of the area showing the glass and the caulk but he wasn't interested.  The only relief at this point was to ask for a discount/refund for the shoddy work.  I suggested to him that I would be happy with a $30.00 discount (or whatever he felt he could do) since they were $30.00 more than the business I have used before but happened to not be available.  He took my phone number and said he would get back with me...........I haven't heard a word back from anyone, it is now July 16th, 2014. People need to know about this company's lack of professionalism and very quick but shoddy work!

Everything went well and the gentlemen that came out were very nice. It was a big job and we had a problem with one window, but they were able to come back out and resolve the issue.

Service person showed up on time and completed the work sooner than I expected.  The work was done with excellent quality and even the registration/inspection stickers were transferred.   Great job!!   I highly recommend Ace Discount Glass in Austin, Tx.

Had a tech come out and measure. I was under the impression that they would be able to fix the same day but alas they had to order the glass. Very friendly professional, Omar. He said it would take 3-7 days to get glass in and would call when it came it. It was more like 6 days. The cost was $312 which was about double what I was expecting to pay but I've never had to pay for something like this so not sure to gauge if that is high, low or just right.

The price was right, they told us that it would take about an hour, and that's what it took. Without my asking, all stickers were transferred cleanly to the new windshield, including the toll road transponder. In and out, no problem, and I'd recommend them with no reservations.

He initially responded to my phone call and made an agreement. After that he did not return my calls (2) weeks after being paid. He came out (3) weeks later and did the job well. He was very apologetic and explained that had some personal issues to tend to, which caused the delay and lack of follow up. It was a bit concerning in the beginning when he was not responding to my calls after making the payment. He also took the old door and did not ask me if I wanted to keep it or not, which I may have kept.

Very courteous and prompt service. Broken glass on the window was replaced in less then 30 min.

They were very responsive and performed without a hitch. I will use them when we are ready to reinstall.

RJ came out to give the initial estimate and was very friendly, on time and thorough. He took lots of measurements and got back to me with a bid immediately, which I appreciated since a few other places I contacted took a day or so before getting me a price. After we agreed to moved forward it took about a week to get the custom cut piece in. To be fair, my shower was extremely difficult to measure for because the guys who laid the tile did not level everything as nicely as they should have. Even though the shower walls look straight, they are off and that really matters when you are cutting glass to fit in the space perfectly, I've learned. So when the glass came in, it was off slightly on one part. BUT, what was wonderful was that Ace immediately told me they would fix it so that I was happy. They didn't try to make me to keep the glass, they just took care of it. Within a few days (they were able to rush my piece through because of the hiccup) I had the new piece installed and looking great. I've been dealing with a lot of construction right now because we are remodeling, and trust me, most of the time contracted companies will try to deny deny deny when something doesn't go just right. And in construction, nothing every goes 100% smoothly. It takes a really honest and dedicated company to admit when something isn't right and fix it quickly to please their customer. Somethings things happen, its how a company deals with it that really counts. Ace handled everything perfectly and I couldn't be happier with the work and the end result. RJ did a great job taking care of it for me and I will be using Ace again to cut some other glass pieces that I need for my coffee table.

I had a home break in and needed to replace a bedroom window asap. Steve and his folks at Ace made sure the window was replaced on the same day as my call for an excellent price. The repair man was kind and went the extra mile to make sure the window fit accurately. Within an hour I had a new window for the same price as quoted. I will definitely call them again in the future.

Ace was one of two bids I took. The appointment for estimate was scheduled and RJ (I think was his name) came. He was very professional and detailed taking all measurements. His bid was $1900 and some change. Ace beat the other bid by approx $400. Once I agree to hire them, I was asked to put half down so the glass could be ordered, and paid the balance at install. About a week later I set up time for install, and again they were on time. Two gentlemen came, one to replace the window and one to install the shower glass at the same time. They were very professional and courteous. I love the work they did and have would hire Ace Glass again.

Excellent, prompt service. We had used them before and as usual their work is outstanding. The window looks great, we are most pleased with the workmanship. Would not hesitate to recommend them, and use them again.

I was impressed by the promptness, the efficiency and the professionalism of this place. Work was done in about an hour. It's not a fancy office, but it was a comfortable wait... and I deeply appreciate people who think ahead for a customer's needs.
