ABC FENCE COMPANY

ABC Fence Company is contracted to install fences for Pulte Homes. I have been living in my new build for < 5 months, and the fence is already falling apart. ABC uses substandard product and is inconsistent with what they use. The cross sections are of varying sizes and posts are already splitting; and they used different materials on my neighbors fence. Their excuse was they "ran out of my material." Their warranty dept inspected the fence and claimed the splitting sections are structurally sound, and that they will not be replacing any part of the fence. I presume this is an example of the lowest bidder.

ABC Fence Company did a fabulous job. Their work was fabulous but their customer service is dreadful. They are impossible to get hold of. They do amazing work if you are willing to run after them. It was hard to schedule an appointment and they kept cancelling.

ABC Fence gave me the run around, wasted my time. There product seems very cheap. I won't use them. I say yes they've done work because we have their fence in our yard from the builder. But not directly paid for from us to them.

It was remarkable how fast they got it done and they really did a great job. We were very happy with them. They were here in two days after the storm and had the fence done in two days also. His prices were excellent I thought it was going to cost so much more. They also recycled alot of the wood from the original fence.

ABC installed our wood privacy fence almost 12 years ago. They did a great job, and the fence has held up really well. But after years of water from the sprinklers hitting the fence, the horizontal stringers/rails were rotted and needed to be replaced. Because of the great job they did installing the fence, we called ABC for the repairs. Keith came out and gave us a bid and we scheduled the work for the next week. The crew arrived on time and did a great job.

They were professional, did good work and were economical. They did clean up after themselves.

ABC Fence Company was cheaper of all the bids I had received for fencing work. They had a one inch fence board instead of a three quarter inch board. That's why I chose them. They guaranteed their work for a much longer time than the others. They had a better warranty. They also cover damage if anything happened. I would use them again in the future

This fence company was hired by our building. We were told they always use them, their price was good, and we were having trouble getting other fence companies to call us back, so we decided to use them. I did not want to grade them on their punctuality because I'm not sure what they were told by our builder, but we were under the impression they were to start the work on Tuesday. On Thursday of the same week, I received a call from the builder explaining to me that the fence company measured wrong and the price was going to go up almost $2,000 (we are fencing in almost 1 1/2 acres). I am and always will be under the impression that if you have a contract with someone you abide by it. Do to the fact they had not reached this part of the fence, they were not willing to do this. They were not even willing to compromise with us. Either we paid the price for their mistake, or we take our business elsewhere. Needless to say, we are searching once again for a fence company.

We were very VERY pleased with this installation. They responded within an hour of my initial phone call, and Raoul showed up as scheduled to prepare the estimate. The crews showed up to install the fence as agreed upon, and worked rapidly. They removed the old fence and set posts the first day, then installed the cross-pieces and pickets the second day. We were pleased with all the workmanship and quality of the materials (including good solid gate hardware). All crew members were courteous and worked hard (despite temperatures in excess of 100).

Just a few slight 'minuses':

• there is a little bit of oddness where their installation adjoins one of the neighbors...a board nailed on at an odd angle
• a little bit of debris remained in the street after they left, including some nails
• there was a minor miscommunication, so there was one portion I had wanted tapered but it is not.

Overall, a very good experience.

First spoke with Raoul who set up an appointment to measure. Called me back to say he was going to be a little late because of an accident. Showed up when he said, measured, gave me a written bid and estimated time for work to start. Tear down person came removed all of the old fence one day and placed metal poles. Next day, fence crew showed up and put up the wood part in a few hours. I was a little aprehensive because the fence crew showed up about 5:00 pm on a Friday to start work, but they did a great job and the fence was completed before dark.

I spoke with Raoul initially over the phone. He came out the very next day to look at the yard and take measurements. He was fully aware of the city rules with compliance as to how far back the fence must be from the sidewalk and to be certain where the utility lines were. I asked for and he gave me good advice as to the placement of the gates so they would not interfere with the walkway or the storage closet. The 2 workmen came out early Friday morning as expected to put in the posts and finished the project on Sat. afternoon. The workmen were professional, and curteous. The cost, start and finish dates of the project were right on.

The job went great. This company had a much better price on a difficult to find fence picket. They did a very professional job and the the fence looks great. They even added a gate at the last minute for a very good price even though the post man had to come back out. The salesman is very knowledgeable, but he is very busy and may come off as less friendly than some people might want. I had no problem with that. I would hire them again without question.

We were having landscaping done, and discovered part way in that the fence was damaged and old, and was going to have to be replaced before the landscaping could be completed. As we needed it done quickly, ABC sent someone out to measure and give us a quote that evening. There was no pressure to accept the bid then, but we did, based on the excellent comments here on Angie's List. It was a 2 day project. Day 1 was focused on removal of the old fence, and prep for the new fence to be installed. They were very careful to avoid any damage to our sprinkler system, as well as the neighbors trellis that was attached to the back of the old fence. They cleaned up fairly well when they were done for the day. Day 2 a larger crew arrived by late morning and quickly set to work installing the new fence and the 2 new gates. They were thorough in discarding any damaged, or not-to-standard boards, which was appreciated. They were done in less than 3 hours on day 2, and the fence looks excellent. When I called the office to see how to pay by credit card, the young woman there was very cheerful and helpful, and had it all taken care of in just a few minutes. Overall it was a very easy experience.

Great

Raoul showed up on time for estimate and gave discount to neighbor and me, since we were having both our fences replaced at the same time. Fencing company took care of having utility lines marked. Materials used are of excellent quality and the fence looks great. Guys who did the work did less damage (actually almost no damage) to my gardens than I expected and were all very polite. They even cut off a vine for me, at my request, since they had a chainsaw in hand. (They even stacked the vine brush neatly near the house for me, after refusing my help in moving the vine out of the way.) Only one mix-up - we apparently were put on the schedule without knowing it. Didn't find out the work was going to start until an hour before. However, this was likely due to (1) the holidays and (2) my neighbor and I not getting our paperwork sent in to the office until very late due to a family emergency. Actually, I'm thrilled that they put us on the schedule based on our verbal okay and not waiting until we sent the paperwork in, which would have resulted in a 1-2 week delay.

I searched around and got quotes from various companies (including craigslist contractors) and none compete with the price I got through ABC -- they were running a special on cedar pickets. I thought that there was a catch and that I would have to sacrifice service or quality, but that wasn't the case. The service was incredible from start to finish. The salesman, Raoul, was prompt and gave me a no none sense quote. The job itself was done promptly in two days by very capable and professional crews. Having dealt with craigslist contractors in the past, this experience was refreshing and a pleasant surprise. They did what they said they were going to do in the timeframe they said it was going to be done in and at the price they quoted. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Called ABC to set an appointment for an estimate for a Fence Project. Raoul called me back within 10 minutes and setup an appointment for the following day. The next day, Raoul was early for his appointment, which was nice, we walked the lot going over all details of the job. Then to my surprise he sat right down and worked the estimate up for me right then with me sitting next to him. Was very pleased with the whole estimate process. Once all estimates were obtained, it was decided that we would hire ABC for two main reasons. One they could start the job within a week and two, they did not require any monies up front. That pretty much sealed the deal. So to end this quickly, his demo crew showed up when stated and did the tear down and set all post promptly in that triple digit heat. The next day his install crew showed up and finished the job. Very happy with this Company and the product!

Everything was wonder, from the initial contact until the completion. Everything was done very professionally and timely. The price could not be beaten.

They came out on time and gave us the quote. We needed a gate because of our lawn mower. He said he could do a big gate but he did not say what the problem would be if we had a gate so the gate ended up being a problem for us. When they came out we told them where we wanted our gates installed but that person did not pass the information to the guys who were building the fence. So half way through I had to tell them that they were installing the gate at the wrong place and the guy said he did not have enough wood to move it. He was blaming it on me and said he would be charged if I insisted to install at the right place. So he did a poor job replacing it and it looked very shoddy. We called them to fix it and they came out and fixed it and put a wheel for free of charge. We would not have installed that big gates if they would told us what we would have got into. We hired the professionals to get their opinion. Few of the post themes are splitting and they don’t want to replace them. We tried calling him and he is not returning our calls. The price was really good.

What a pleasant experience. Raoul was responsive in coming to the house and providing an estimate. His estimate was prepared on the spot and was 33% lower than another quote received. The work was scheduled within days of my accepting the proposal. The crew arrived on time on the appointed day, were responsive, respectful and hard-working, finished the removal and new post installation on the first day, and installed all the fence panels on the second day. The materials and workmanship were top quality. As a last-minute change I asked them to remove and replace a small portion of my neighbor's fence as well and they acommodated this change on the original schedule. Really a pleasure to deal with these guys.

It took them 2 days to finish the job. The person, who came out to give an estimate, was very professional, and kind. He gave a very clear and detailed oriented estimate. The crew who came was very professional, and did a very good job. My overall experience with them was good.

Raoul came out to give me an estimate. He gave me the options of types of posts available and informed me of a current sale I could choose if I desired. He gave me an estimate and told me he could get the work done in 2 days starting Tuesday the following week. His crews came tore down the fence and put in the posts the first day. The second day they put up the new fence with two new gates and removed any old lumber. They were very professional and did excellent work on time.

excellent work, very professional. raoul was always prompt with returning calls, and courteous. he knows his work and was able to accomodate several custom requests. his crew was great.

They were creative and came up with a solution for our gate that our dogs were jumping over. They added on an attractive piece to the top of our existing gate. Every other company we had spoken with said we would have to get another gate, which would have cost us over $500.

The entire project went smoothly and efficiently. I would recommend this company.
