I wish I could give this company a better review. I purchased a Big Deal for 4 Hours of Handyman Work. My initial contact with the company went fine, and Katy in the office has been responsive to my emails. In the middle of July, a man came by to install a ceiling fan and to patch some small areas where nails were popping through the paint in the sheet rock. The fan installation went great. Very quick. The service person then left to go buy the tools and supplies needed to fix the nail pops. When he returned, he patched the places I indicated then said he'd have to come back later in the week to finish. He said the patches had to dry before he could do anything else. He gave me his number to call him when I could take more time off work at the end of the week. I gave him my work number, as my cell reception was poor at work. The patches were shallow. Fifteen minutes after he left, all the patches were dry. The whole visit took less than 1.5 hours, including the time spent buying tools. I called this man later in the week and left my cell number, and asked him to call back. The following week, I found that he had left a message on my work phone over the weekend, saying he got my message but didn't have my number. He could have called me any day during the week, when I would have actually been at work, but he called on the weekend. I called back and emailed, but suffice it to say that this kind of thing went on for a while and he did not appear eager to have to finish my job. In August, I contacted the company through Angie's List and described my problem. I asked if they could have someone else complete the work. They said it would be the middle of Sept. before someone else could get to me. They said the original man was free to complete the work by the end of that week. I reluctantly agreed. Well, that was a bad idea. Katy told me the company manager said the service man wtthe next morning would be best. The next morning came and went and I did not see nor hear from this man. By the middle of the afternoon I contacted the company to say I would be willing to wait until the middle of Sept. to have a different person finish the work. They agreed. In the meantime, my husband and I decided we should get a switch for the water heater in case it ever leaked. Judging by the name of the company, I asked them if they could install such a device, since the new service person would be here anyway. Katy, as usual, was helpful and prompt in her response. We agreed to have a float switch installed the same day the patch work was completed, and scheduled it for 9 am on 9/19/14. Katy called the day before to confirm, which I appreciated. She said it would be the first stop of the day, around 8 am. A little earlier, but that was OK. At 8:30 am, the new service man called to say he had forgotten about a medical appointment and would be running about 2 hours late. I offered to reschedule it to another day. He said no, he wanted to do it today. I was disappointed, as I had scheduled other events for the day, but I agreed. 2 hours later than the original 8 am time? No - 2 hours from the present. I expected him around 10:30 am. By 11:30 am, he was not here, and I had received no calls saying he was again running late. I had just had it with the exceedingly poor communication and service from the company, and I called him to cancel the appointment. He did not answer the phone. I left a message, saying he needn't come by, I was canceling the work. He called shortly thereafter and we clarified that I did not want to have the work done. I followed this up with an email to the company, through Angie's List. I explained the circumstances and my disappointment, and stated that I had cancelled the job with the service man. It should be noted that Josh, with whom I have never had contact, called me shortly thereafter and said the service man felt very badly and that he'd like to give me a discount for the inconvenience. It was too little, too late; we've had too many bad experiences with the company. I won't be using this company again.

I was contacted within two days by the company once I purchased the deal. They worked with the dates I gave them and we set the appointment up easily. Anthony called in advance and showed up for the appointment early. He was professional and took pictures as well as writing down notes for the bathroom remodel. He said he would have the plan drawn up and estimate done in about a week. I contacted Katy in their office after two weeks when I had not heard back from them or received anything. She responded immediately and sent me the plans and estimate the next day. I thought the price quoted was fair and will keep this company in mind when I am ready to start this project.

Kevin was very professional and knowledgeable. He was on time and performed the service with timeliness and care. The scheduling process was also very simple and fast. We'd be happy to use the service again in the future.

My experience went really well. It was nice to deal with someone who knew what they were doing. It was a big plus. It was easy to communicate wtih them and they answered all my questions well.

My experience was not good. I was not too happy with the work they did. It did not look professional to me. He charged me for the materials but he did let me keep them. He took an hour and a half break. They are now trying to correct their work.

Kevin the handyman was courteous, low-keyed, efficient, neat, knowledgeable and fast. He worked steadily on all projects and finished one hour ahead of time.

On time, polite, good communication spent 3 hours working on fence. Good job.

When the Angie's List deal states the provider adjusts your gates, all they do is file parts of your gate away in order for it to close. The gate looked awful after he was done with it. The opening was jagged. There were bits hacked away on both the post and the gate. I had to have them come back out again after I noticed the fence pickets that were replaced had a huge gap under two of them. Instead of moving the rocks that were placed under the rotted pickets to keep the neighbor dog from entering my yard, he just placed the new pickets on top. The whole reason to have those pickets replaced was to not have a huge gap under them, so the dog could not get in our yard. I was left with the same problem, just newer wood on the top half. I was very dissatisfied with the quality of the craftsmanship.

Josh was on time. We went over my punch list of items needing repair and he went right to work. He noticed a few additional spots that needed touch up paint in addition to the ones on my list and did those as well. Josh was friendly and performed every task perfectly. I am very pleased with his workmanship.

Kevin and James came on time, did the job perfectly and professional. We are very happy with them.

Kevin called before he came out, arrived on time, spent a lot of time talking to adjoining lot owners, as access & permission were necessary. He was slow, but good & I was not in a hurry.

They cancelled our first appointment which took over two weeks to make and although I have called five times to make another appointment they either don't return my calls or tell me that someone will call me that night or soon. Have contacted Angie's list to help me resolve issue. The company told me they fired their electrician, why did they offer this service on Angie's list if they cannot deliver.

The person they sent was very knowledgeable and quick. He suggested a way to solve a problem that others had not realized. I was very happy with the overall work.

Very prompt and professional job. The tech explained the work he was going to do and even spine to my neighbor to get access to one section of the fence. Would definitely hire again.

GREAT. Jason was excellent and efficient. While I went to get the pot light, he took care of the other items on my list. He was personable, told me what to expect with the pot ight and gave me the information I needed to purchase the light. He was conscious of the mess it would make and took precautions to minimize it. He cleaned up when the job was completed. I was very satisfied. I will use A-Plus again whenever I need electrical or handyman items done.

We were very pleased with the services provided by A-Plus. The office customer service staff were very professional and helpful, the technician was knowledgeable and experienced, and all services were performed in a punctual and timely manner.

It went beautifully. I had changed my credit card information on Angie's List, so he let me pay him on the job. He did excellent work and was pleasant and quick about it. I've no complaints whatsoever.

He was courteous and professional and showed up on time.He was extremely knowledgeable about how to proceed with the steps. I enjoyed seeing the project taking shape and seeing the end product. Could not have been smoother. I plan on using the same company for an install of outdoor speakers.

Curtain rods were not ordinary rods. They were heavy 2-3 " designer rods that needed to be in studs or to have proper support from anchors. We also had 3 wrought iron rods that also needed extra support. The handyman arrived on time. The company was very professional and kept us posted on time. He actually arrived about 30 minutes early. We were notified by phone and agreed to the new arrival time. He reviewed what we wanted done. Looked at the hardware. He recommended different anchors which my son went to get while he started the job. He took careful measurements, he made sure everything was level. The rods look awesome, we hung the curtains and you can tell everything was done by a professional. There were some issues with the pot rack and he felt it had to be in studs because of its weight but the pre-drilled holes would not hit on a stud. He suggested drilling a hole in the frame to mount it. We allowed him to do that and it is awesome. This is a wall mounted pot rack not ceiling mounted. All and all the work was done well, the time was perfect. we had a 4 hour time frame and used all but 15 minutes. He cleaned up after himself. We couldn't have been happier. Kevin was our handyman and we are really pleased with the results. The company followed up to check on the work we received and my contact with them was also very pleasant and professional. I had called more than one service and used this service both because of the price and because they really acted like they wanted the business. We will use this company again.

Walter and his helper did a great job of finding out what needed to be done and getting it done quickly. I'd be happy to work with them again.

The company contacted me right away via email tor schedule an appointment. This morning I called and made an appointment for Wednesday, July 30th - that was the soonest they had available, otherwise I would have picked a date this week. This afternoon, Katy called and said the electrician has a family emergency and had to re-schedule the appointment to August 4th. That is too long to wait for my electrical fixes.

Jason brought the long ladder that I requested in order to reach a 20-foot high exhaust vent. The exhaust hood had a flap that was very noisy on windy days. I was all for removing the flap but Jason checked it out and offered to insulate it (cushion it) rather than removing it. He also found a clever way to close an iron gate where the ground has shifted and the original lock no longer worked. Jason got everything on my list completed in less time than I thought and the results were beyond my expectations. Katie who scheduled the appointment was one of the most pleasant persons to talk to over the phone. Overall, a very good experience and a company to recommend.

Great service! I have two AC units...and both of them died. I used A+ in the past so I let them install the new units. I qualified for Austin Energy and Texas Gas rebates, and A+ did all of the grunt work to get me LOTS of money back (the price listed in the review is before rebates). The weatherization work cost 1/5 after the rebates they got me! Now my house cools very well, I have a great warranty, and the weatherization work has helped my energy bills and the bugs. Every time A+ comes out, they give me a 15-30 min heads up and they are always respectful. Their technicians are fast and honest; they exhausted every possibility instead of jumping to conclusions. When Greg, owner/estimator, came to look at my house, he gave me many options to fix my AC-less house and even offered to loan me a window unit in the meantime. When it comes to scheduling, Debby in the office is on top of it! She is always cheerful and understands customer's schedules to find the best time available. I would definitely recommend A+ to everyone They are trustworthy, friendly, and perform great quality service, consistently. I was lucky enough to use them the first time I had troubles, and I will never call anyone else.

I hired A-Plus Energy Mgmt, Air Condition & Home Solutions for $89 for two hours of work as advertised in Angie's List . A Plus was A plus! (pun intended) [email protected]. Call them at 512-450-1980. Kevin, the Handyman, A Plus sent to do the work was one of the most professional workmen I've had in this house during the almost 10 years we've lived here. A-Plus office called to remind me of the appointment the day before; called me a few minutes before Kevin's arrival so I would be prepared. Kevin's work was efficient, effective and quietly performed. I enjoyed chatting with him a couple of times as he continued to work while responding to me. There was no stopping him until I was satisfied with the results. He finished the work a few minutes before the two hour service was scheduled to end. I would recommend A Plus and Kevin to my family and friends. I already have!

We just joined Angie's List. This is our first review. A+ Air Conditioning & Heating sent a repairman the day we called that our AC wasn't working very well. The cost was $297.00 for service, parts and coolant. As usual, the repairman went over all of the work explaining what was wrong and what was done. Over these many years (since), we've had no complaint with work done by A+: from regular Spring & Fall checks, to emergency trips for AC which finally died, to installation of entire system, to working with the Austin Energy Inspectors for Weatherization Rebate (very grateful for that). We have never had a bad repairman. All have been knowledgeable, polite and thorough. The office staff and owners were always extremely helpful and very attentive. A+ has added holiday decorations installation as an additional service. That came as an extra bonus for us this past year. The installers were very helpful, making certain to give us the right effect. In all instances of service of any kind from A+, the office worked to make it fit our schedule. We couldn't be more pleased. We referred A+ to a friend who asked if we knew someone good in the AC business. My friend reported to me that they were at her home in 30 minutes (happened to be near by) and were able to fix the problem. She was so grateful because her husband was out of the country and she hadn't been able to reach him to ask whom to call.
