I'd hired A-Plus two or three years ago for a bunch of smallish things that I needed done around the house. One of those things was replacing a toilet and it was around $200. I checked the deals section and it looked like 200 was still in the ballpark for a toilet replacement. When I called and asked for a quote, I was told that they'd need to send someone out to provide a quote. Fair enough, it's inconvenient for me, but I understand that there may be considerations that affect the price that can only be seen in person. The gentleman who arrived and provided the quote was not an A-plus employee. He took a look and called A-plus, who then called me back and told me it was going to be $700 to replace the toilet. I asked how much of that was the toilet and how much was the labor and Kate did not know and had to (apparently) call the guy back and find out. When she called back, I was told that it would be $350 if I provided the toilet, as long as the flange was OK. This was almost double what I had planned to spend, but I wanted to get it done, and that's what credit cards are for, right? Then I found out that the previous owner of the house had laid the bathroom tile on top of an existing layer of bathroom tile - so there was a significant difference in the height of the sewer pipe and the bottom of the toilet, and this required a flange extension. By now, I was cringing. A-Plus talked to the plumber and then called me back and told me it was going to be an additional $450. This was now an $800 toilet install, not counting the toilet! I am very happy with the work that was done. However, had I known that this was going to be subcontracted out, I would have called someone else who was going to do the work themselves. I feel as though the guy doing the work gave A-Plus a price, and they immediately added $200 to it. Twice. So if you're going to use these guys, it would probably be a good idea to ask if they are going to subcontract it out.

They were very professional, on time, got everything done, high quality work, and no issues.

The service call itself was great - the technician showed up on time, was very polite and got right to work after I showed him the pickets to be repaired and replaced. The job was completed to my satisfaction and he even left an extra painted picket to use at a later date if needed. My only complaint was getting the work scheduled - I booked it through Angie's List but never received an email or phone call to confirm the date and time to schedule, even though I had provided all of this information (plus several dates and times that I preferred). I had to reach out and call A-Plus after almost 2 weeks had passed to get on their schedule - not sure who dropped the ball here (Angie's List or A-Plus) but it was a minor annoyance. Once we sorted that out, everything else fell into place quickly and overall I was very satisfied.

He had to remove the old fan and reseal the new. It was pretty heavy, he did a really good job.

We recently moved into a new house, and had a long to-do list that neither my husband nor myself felt up to achieving. I had a look on Angie's List, and A-Plus had great reviews and a coupon, so I called them up and booked a handyman for four hours of work. They sent Kevin and he knocked that list out with ease. He installed two fans on our high ceilings, hung a mirror; a towel rack; three paintings in difficult and hard to reach places, put up curtain rods in the bedroom and even offered to help us move some boxes around when he was done. He was punctual and unfailingly polite. Talking to Katy when scheduling was also a delight. It's so nice to find a company that is friendly and reliable. 100% happy and would recommend to anyone.

Started one thing and turned into another. It was a difficult job that required some special parts. They found the parts quickly and had the job done in a few hours and the service tech went above and beyond and kept the price reasonable. I was expecting a lot more considering the time and effort. Highly recommended...

They communicate very well. He was very prompt when he came. He was pleasant to work with.

We have had them out for service, but that was about an year ago. I had a little bit of an issue with the owner, he talks down to you a little. The service was fine. We never compared prices, we were recommended to them, and never quote an price. They are good quality. They always get back to me. The installers were great.

I continue to be impressed and thankful for the professional way that they go about the annual check. I can basically just turn them loose and they perform the service and then review the results with us. We utilize a service contract both to remind us when it's time to perform the annual service on the furnace and a/c and to take advantage of pricing discounts and priority service. We selected this company using Angie's List in 2012 and have not regretted our choice.

Kevin did a great job by putting up a fence where our gate used to be. We didn't need a second gate to our yard. In terms of wood and materials, he asked us what our preferences were and worked within our budget. He also went around our back yard and checked and repaired other spots along our fence.

I contracted A Plus to buildout a new closet in our master bedroom by taking space from the game room. I used the Angie's List deal of 40 hours for $1399, and I provided all materials down to the last nail. The price was good, but it turns out, you get what you pay for. I called A Plus to schedule an initial visit to see if what I wanted could be accomplished in the 40 hours. They said that they would call me back to schedule it. After a week, I called back. They said they would call back. They never did, so I called back after another week. Finally, we scheduled their initial visit. This should have been the first red flag. Josh & Gilbert show up to see the space. Gilbert was very professional and seemed very competent. I was not really sure why Josh was even there, but he was not very professional. While we were talking about the project, he plopped himself down and laid down on our bed. I'm not the most anal person, but I don't like sweaty strangers resting on my pillows. Gilbert sounded confident he could do the project in 40 hours; Josh kept telling me how he doubted it could be (and that it would be $80/hr after the 40). This should have been the second red flag, but the price was so good I went ahead and scheduled the date for them to begin. A few days out from when they were supposed to start, they called and said they had to pull Gilbert to another job, and they would reschedule. 2-3 weeks went by, and they never called. After pestering them with phone calls, they finally rescheduled. This time they actually showed up. They started the project on 11/21 and worked the following schedule: 11/21 - 5 hours 20 min (but they tried to charge me 7 hours to include travelling time. I said, "No, I am paying for 40 hours of labor. Getting to my house is the cost of doing business.") 11/22 - 3:25 11/23 - 3:35 (but there were two people, so 7:10 in man hours) 11/25 - 3:30 (again, two people, so 7:00 man hours) ...Now, here I guess they needed to pull Gilbert to a more lucrative job...so, they said they would schedule the rest of the project for the next week...the next week came and went with no call. A pattern had developed by this point, so I started pestering Katie (the phone lady) earlier. Gilbert finally returned on: 12/14 - 2:15 12/15 - 5:15 12/16 - 6:00 Gilbert had to go somewhere else again, so they finally finished the job on 12/21...a month after they started, and two months after they said they were going to start. Now, the work itself sucked pretty bad. Electrical outlets needed to be cut; well they were cut too big, so they just put a glob of plaster in there. Plaster is not drywall, and it breaks. Now, whenever we flip the switch, it moves into the wall, because the flanges are not resting on the drywall. They removed a window, and installed Hardiplank. It looks like crap, and I question its ability to keep out a good storm. Gilbert did do a good job of spraying texture. However, he did not cover up anything even though I had provided three plastic sheets and a painter’s tarp. There was paint texture on our ceiling fan, bed footboard, leather ottoman, the electrical outlets and switches, and all over the carpet. We cleaned it up, but this is not what really ticked me off. I purchased pre-hung French closet doors. They were sitting in the room the entire month of the project. Now, by this point they were trying to get outside the 40 hours quickly. They were stepping outside to take calls regularly. So, by the time they finished texturing, it was beyond 40 hours, and I would need to pay the regular $80/hr rate. I was pretty irritated at this point, and just wanted them out. I can hang a closet door. ...If the doorframe was built to fit the closet door... I went to install it myself. The door is 80" tall. Pretty typical. Almost all doors at Home Depot or Lowes are 80" tall. The doorframe was not 80" tall. It was 79 1/2" inches tall. For a very brief moment, I thought about having them come out to fix it, but I figured that would take another month or two, and they would be trying to charge me for every little thing again. It was easier for me to just saw off an inch of the pre-hung frame. I got the doors in fine. Now though, because the doors are not as high as carpet makers assume a closet door would be, the doors drag on the carpet and it takes real force to open and close them. Overall, they did a miserable job from the get go, I ignored the multiple red flags, and I paid them for it. I blame myself more than them. P.s. the only reason these guys could ever have an "A" on Angie's List is they must have quite a few employees submitting ratings. These guys were terrible.

Fine. Found a problem and fixed it as part of checkup.

He called ahead of his arrival and arrived on time. He quickly adjusted the gate to perfection and inspected and reattached several fence boards. I couldn't be more satisfied with his worki.

Scheduling was a breeze, the tech showed up promptly, and the work was very well done. I especially appreciated the tech taking the time to check his work against the inspection provided by our buyer. He made sure we got exactly what we needed. He also took the time to walk me through what he found / how he fixed it, which greatly helped me explain the work to the buyer. The office staff was also fantastic. I had to call back and get a copy of the invoice for my buyer, it was waiting in my inbox before I got off the phone. There are certainly cheaper services, but A+ was first rate. We're really satisfied.

All went well, technician took time to ensure fan was balanced etc. Appreciate the attention to detail.

The work was completed to a very high standard, both structurally and aesthetically. The handyman was excellent to work with!

It was okay. There were additional fees. The price was good.

They did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. They were fast and very friendly.

The crew was friendly, professional and careful with the furniture. They were affordable too.

Service was great. Chris was able to come a bit early - the office called to see if it was OK. The inspection was thorough. The report produced has pictures and descriptions. The only downside was an extra charge for coming to Dripping Springs. Dripping Springs is growing fast and providers should be available without a surcharge. I would recommend using A-Plus and will use them again.

I am not pleased with the service. I wanted A-Plus Energy Mgmt, Air Cond & Home Solutions to re-caulk the tub and tile. They were aware of my request before showing up to deliver the service. When Chris arrived I was informed that he doesn't carry caulk with him. I think it would have been appropriate for them to purchase the caulk, or tell me to purchase it, since this was what I hired them for. Chris caulked over the old caulk rather than removing it and starting fresh. Now that he has simply covered up the old, I am sure the mold will return.
