I heard of GBSS from a friend. My 110 year-old handgun's bluing was mostly missing so I decided to have it re-blued. GBSS's owner is a gunsmith who specializes in premium-quality bluing. I opted, at a somewhat higher cost, to get a hi-polish finish and was blown away by the results. The old handgun looked like a museum piece. Most gun owners may prefer the regular satin-like finish but I was pleased with the deep brilliant glow of the hi-polish finish. The only disadvantage of the hi-polish finish seems to be that it shows smudges and fingerprints more readily.
GBSS also pointed out that a couple of small parts were badly worn and mis-shapened. They replaced these parts before re-assembly. Their turnaround time was currently a reasonable 30 days. They are located about one-hour north of the Metroplex but the drive is definitely worth the effort. I would recommend GBSS without reservation.
