Communications issues aside, when phone calls were not returned timely, eventually when it came to work, they did an excellent job. Previous guy just totally screwed it up when I decided to use Backyard concepts. They did the job very quickly and did it really well.

They brought all of the rock and equipment that we needed, and even chased down a lost part, and had the pond completed in one day, with a waterfall and lighting! Since we're new to this endevour, we really appreciated that they spent the extra time to answer all of our questions when we contracted their services and while they were building the pond! They've also been so supportive, answering all of our questions about maintaining a pond and how to take care of koi fish!
If your looking for someone to help turn your backyard into your own little oasis, Backyard Concepts are the ones you need to talk to! We are so happy we made the investment, it has turned our backyard into a and quot;little slice of heavenand quot; according to one of our friends and even our neighbors enjoy the sounds of the waterfall! Our only regret is waiting so long, to get to the help, to finish it! We love our pond and we love working with Backyard Concepts!

They are horrible. They didn't do the job as they told me they would, and when I tried to get the problem rectified the owner had the nerve to come onto my property and call me an idiot. They did the project different than they described and then they wanted an extra $500 above what they quoted me. I was out of town while they were doing the work so I don't know what they did and didn't do. The workmanship in general was shoddy.
Response from BACKYARD CONCEPTS LLC
"We are sorry to hear about your experience with us at Backyard Concepts, but we do appreciate your honest feedback. In regards to the situation, the maintenance on this pond was difficult because of its original placement, bad design and was under built for capacity of debris. We maintained this pond twice a month and reported to the owner that in addition to this, he would still have to empty leaves between our visits to avoid flooding out. A few months later, an irrigation pipe broke underneath the pond and client asked us to come in -- because we specialize in ponds -- to deconstruct the pond and find the leak. We suggested that it would be an excellent time to correct the problems with the original installation and rebuild the feature correctly -- fundamentally changing the pond to a pondless feature -- and the client agreed to this and signed the contract accordingly. When digging underneath the pond, we hit a layer of concrete which had to be busted out to get to the broken irrigation. You never know what is lurking beneath the soil and we have uncovered some bizarre stuff, so it is clearly stated in our contract that if there are any extra repairs not including work as agreed to, there will be an additional charge at $100 per hour plus the cost of parts. The client was charged labor, jack hammer rental, and the original repair to the sprinkler system -- total $554.98. We have a full one-year warranty on workmanship and honor manufacturer's warranty on equipment, including lights. A few weeks after install, the client called requesting a service call stating the lights weren't working. We sent two technicians -- two separate times -- who each reported the lights WERE working, and the client was not billed either time. The client called a third time saying that the lights, again, weren't working. Upon client insistence, the owner, Mike Marcom, went to client's house to check the lights, which were, in fact, working. When Mike showed the client that the light was on and working, and then asked the client, "What do you want from me," the client told Mike to leave his premises. We hope this clarifies the situation for you, and if you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at Backyard Concepts -- (940) 488-4825."
