Very professional. I am notified when inspections are available and then contact Tom's for a specific time. They are prompt and call ahead on the scheduled day to let you know when they will arrive. The techs wear booties if indoors. and leave a report of the status of your system and recommended work if needed.

In Feb 2020 Tom’s installed a new heat pump, air handler, and did some duct work at my house. The air handler was making too much noise and they had come back and re-set it. Temperatures in the house (single story, about 1,900 sf) were not even. Tom’s came out once to correct that, but the problem is still there. There were one or two other minor glitches that were corrected. After one year it was time to change the UV bulb in the UV light I asked them to install in the system. Tom’s wanted $345 minus 10%. To replace the entire UV unit was $345! OR I could buy one of the scrubbers Tom’s was selling for $1,195. Throughout this journey everyone I dealt with at Tom’s was very nice. But the bottom line is that I have not been overwhelmed with the quality of their work. My two year free service contract is now expired and in the future I will not be doing business with Tom’s.

It was terrific, I really liked them. It's just that I couldn't afford the $10,00 price. They were very personable, the guy that came out, he was professional, enthusiastic, not pushy, he was interested in the job it just that I don't have that money but in the end he was still friendly and I think the price was reasonable for the work.

There were some scheduling hiccups involved on the first day of work (only sent 1 technician to a 2 story house). They were resolved on 2nd day of work. Overall did a very good job with the duct cleaning. Indoor air quality has improved significantly. David was also great when giving us the duct cleaning estimate. He was very thorough and even found a small gas leak which was promptly repaired.

He always takes great care of me and once even checked out a car for me I was considering buying from a dealership and the mechanic at Tom's found out that the it had been in an accident. The dealership pulled the Carfax which showed it had been in a wreck. That saved me a lot of money. I will highly recommend and use them, again.

This is first half of spring/fall checkup offer. Service was prompt and efficient. The checkup was thorough. The tech was very professional and competent. My freon was low and replaced at the current going rate. Will see them again in the fall. Service cost included both checkups and freon installation.

With 102 degree temps outside he showed up on time late the same evening we called for service & right off he thought the coils were dirty. He cleaned them & there was no improvement in performance. He checked for a leak and thinking we used the old type of freon (green can) he said the pressures looked good. I told him it's the new type of freon since he didn't look at the label on the side of the outdoor unit. Once I convinced him the pressures should be higher he quoted us about 3x what I thought the price should be to find a leak & fix it. I paid him for the truck roll and sent him off & went with AireServ, who were showing up the next afternoon.

We highly recommend this company! Brian Lackey helped us consider all options, and we close the ductless Split Air and Heat, which hangs on the wall and self-regulates temperature control. This new unit is very economical. The old unit required very expensive Freon that it could no longer hold. Brian offered perfect product for us, and the best estimate we received by far, along with an Angie's List special. We also want to commend Vic, who led the installation with great attention to detail. We are very happy with our new quiet air condition/heating unit. and will definitely use this company again.

Terrible, overall. Field tech, David, who was punctual, responsive and professional, quoted $165-$180 (part dependent) full price to replace a flame sensor that was dropping voltage. He called it in to the office and the part was not in inventory and needed to be ordered. A follow up service call had to be arranged, awaiting the part. I later received a call from Tom's stating that the flame sensor was a special order and would be $765. $765!! They requested payment in advance of ordering. Online, I could find the same part number for less than $40. I canceled the replacement. They eventually completed the replacement for $162. The explanation that I received from the Service Manager was that the part price had been marked up, and then inadvertently marked up again. Tech receives high marks, service department back office an F.

"Unfortunately, the customer's complaint is 100% justified, Due to an internal communication error we drastically overestimated the price of the repair. As is our policy whenever a customer does not receive quality service the amount of the invoice has been refunded. A letter of apology from our Service Manager has also been sent. Overall went really well. The guys showed up on time to begin the work. However the only reason they arent an A across the board is that there wasnt a permit aftee I explicitly asked for one several times. I asked if the estimate included the price of a permit (it did) and when they called to confirm I asked again about the permit. No fault of the install guys but they had to hang around for about an hour while the sales person pulled a permit for the work. The guys worked diligently and it did take all day. They cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. Also I was very impressed with Justin, after the inspector left we had an issue and Justin showed up less than an hour later to fix the red tag. Would reccomend and will use again.

Kyler came to do the contract checkup of the furnace. He seemed very thorough compared to services I'd had from other companies. He showed me the results every step of the way. He recommended replacing the 11-year-old igniter ($261). He checked all the switch settings on the circuit board and, after studying the information on the inside cover, noticed the installer had not enabled an efficiency feature with the fan speed. He signed me up for another year contract ($125) and told me about their system cleaning service. I got an appointment for the Superior Vent, Duct, & System Cleaning ($1,435.50). Truc arrived at 8:20 for the 8:30 appointment. He had me show him the system and where each vent is. He spent the first 3 hours in the hall cleaning the system (blower, cooling coil, air return space under the closet). Then he worked on all the ducts. He spread large tarps and tried hard to catch as much of the dust as possible. I still had to dust and vacuum afterward. Not his fault. Then he cleaned my 20' long clothes dryer duct in my garage. I told him it probably didn't need it. And I was very wrong. A big pile of lint later, he then vacuumed behind the dryer and even the wall. Total visit, 8 hours!

Our A/C went out over teh labor day weekend. We were thankful to find someone to come out on the holiday. David arrived when he said he was, was polite and respectful of our home. He did a quick diagniostic and explained parts were needed. The next day, he did call and gave us an estimate for the piece. I asked for a quote in writting, but sadly never received or heard from David again.

I reviewed this vendor on the telephone when I was called by Angie's List. After obtaining 3 estimates for 2 new air conditioner/heating units. I chose to go with Tom's Mechanical, Inc. in Arlington TX. The new units are manufactured by Trane. I was very satisfied with initial contact with the representative of Residential System Sales and with the whole replacement installation. Both units were installed in one day, ac and heating. I will be using Tom's Mechanical for guarantees and routine maintenance henceforth.
