Have had service with them for over 5 years and this is the worst experience I have ever had.

We contacted skybeam to get internet serivce at our new home. They were able to accomodate us and came out 3 business days later. My husband went to the trouble to point out to the gentleman that we had a smart house and show him where our wiring hub was. The installer informed us we would be able to get 15 mbps if we used a 15 foot antenna on top of the house. Before he left he told my husband, sorry the best i can do is 10 mbps. My husband checked the speed before the installer left and we were only getting 3 mbps. His response was and quot;it will work itself outand quot;. He also only installed the internet into one room of the house and drilled thru the brick wall of the office to get it there. My husband had offered him a gatorade when he got there and before he left he said, and quot;I will take another gatoraideand quot;. When he left my husband called to complain about the spped of the service and request that our bill be lowered to reflect the lower speed, they appologized and said that they would have someone come out and take a look at it (11 days later), On the date of the appointment, no one came. My husband called and canceled the service. The best part in dealing with skybeam was the guy who came to pick up the equipent, who did exactly what he was supposed to do and was couteous and communiated very well.

When the provider came out to install the service, the installer arrived mid-afternoon in August, it was 100 degrees out. He walked all over our roof and caused extensive damage to the roof shingles, which were pretty soft from the afternoon sun. Skybeam fixed the roof after a couple of months of back-and-forth and a few calls the BBB.



As for the service..............you'll never get anywhere near what they advertise, which I will note does say and quot;up to 10mbps down and up to 2mbps upand quot;. Well, the and quot;up toand quot; at my home amounts to around 1mbps down and .5mbps up.



You can all but they always....ALWAYS......have the same excuse....and quot;get a new routerand quot; of my favorite is and quot;it's the towerand quot;. We have stuck with them because we literally have no other option except satellite, which I am now considering.



The ONLY plus, their customer service agents are friendly, and well trained at stiff arming your problems, all with a friendly voice and explaining allot about your problem without really saying anything.

Promised Internet. It barely functioned.

I give an A+. $40 a month. Simple installation. Always on, always working. Similar technology to cell phone and I couldn't be more pleased.

They also offer phone service but I only needed internet. I've been using them since March. I am under an introductory contract that will go up to $59. It is for their top line service. They were very quick to get here to set things up. They are very good on the phone to answer questions. I was trying to get an extension and they even suggested other people to go with to get an answer to my question, which is rare.

I've used them for years, we never got DSL, and we've been stranded. Their service is good. I have problems with slowness, loss of signal, and have had a hard time getting customer service, sometimes. I give them high ratings and will continue to use them in the future.
