Shelton's Water

May of 2018, I had a whole house water system installed which consisted of a water softener (salt based) and a dedicated reverse osmosis (RO) filtration system under the sink. I spent 4 months researching the different systems available and the companies offering installation. We, my wife and I, sat through 3 dog and pony shows from 3 different companies which all said the same thing; Texas has hard and lousy drinking water. We didn’t choose the cheapest or most expensive alternatives but chose the system and installation company that I felt were the best: the Kenetico 40-40 (water softener) with the K5 reverse osmosis (RO) filtration system and used Shelton’s Water for installation. Company reviews from places like the Better Business Bureau, Angies List and Home Advisor were consulted. Shelton was the only company that had rave reviews with a near perfect record. The system has been running for about 3 weeks and we are very pleased and have no complaints. The two man installation crew, Coe and Ryan, were professional, hardworking, trustworthy, courteous and very knowledgeable.

I have Shelton's do an annual check on my water system each year. They take water samples, check/replace the filters on the system in the garage as well as the reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink. This year they swapped out a large charcoal tank for a new one. The tech I've had, Tim, is so patient in explaining everything and he even drew me a labeled sketch which I keep in my file. I love that there's not pressure to upgrade or do stuff that's not necessary right now. This system keeps minerals from building up in my pipes and water heaters and makes my drinking water chlorine-free. and tasting like spring water. I have the same drinking water quality as bottled water.

Previously we had a horrible experience with the company we worked with in another city so I was skeptical about hiring another water softener company. We ended up going with Shelton's Water since they specialize in Kinetikos'. Zachary and Mike came out to run piping and install the softener. Wow. What great customer service. They were wearing nice shirts (even though it's a dirty job), driving a nice company vehicle. Zachary was leading and he did a great job of explaining everything they were going to do. He was very courteous and you could tell legitimately cared about his job. He's been working with water softeners for many years. When I asked him how my old water softener even worked, he had no issues with explaining the inner components. Also, he said they might have to rip out a bush but they ended up working around it. Patty, the receptionist, is probably one of the most sweetest people I've ever talked to on the phone. Overall, I'm so happy we went with them and I have full trust in them.

The team was very professional, arrived on time, did a great job on the install, and cleaned everything up prior to leaving. I was informed of each step and how to use the product.. would use again and would definitely recommend.

The Kinetico system is better than most out there.  The company was very easy to work with.  No pushy sales to buy more than needed.  I asked about an RO system and the rep didn't believe it was needed.  Rainsoft and others tried to push us into buying every solution they had.  Shelton tried to just sell us what we needed.

Shelton's rep, Tyler Stone, was extremely helpful and easy to work with. I grew up with a water softener and was ready to add one to my place. The Kinetico brand isn't cheap but is of the highest quality. Tyler worked with me on the price. Installation did not go smoothly, but that was in no way Shelton's fault. If anything, it showed how committed they were. My installation team uncovered some rather odd plumbing near my shut-off valve and water heater. But the two gentlemen didn't give up and even came back a second day to complete the work. Then Tyler came out a week later to check on the system and even bring me another supply of salt bags.

Note to first paragraph: I do NOT in any way think the events that unfolded are the norm for Shelton's Water. This is simply stating what happened. I was treated courteously and professionally in every interaction from the Sales Manager to the office staff. They went above and beyond to ensure any issue was resolved and that I was completely satisfied with my system. Every person I dealt with could easily be a friend, even when i wasn't using my "nice voice' a couple of times. That is how genuinely nice the Shelton's Water people have been to work with.
After rescheduling the actual installation a couple of times due to unforeseen issues on their end and my schedule, the system was installed. The installer arrived on time, professional, knowledgeable and very competent. The installation took a bit of time but was done neatly and everything cleaned up. Two days after the initial installation I came home to water leaking from the brine tank. After a less than nice. bordering on hysterical, after hours phone call to report it, my call was returned in less than 10 minutes. I was walked through shutting the system off and told that someone would be out first thing the next morning. When the installer arrived the next day the problem was quickly identified (bad float valve?) and replaced. He doubled checked the system, piping and everything else before leaving. He took plenty of time and did not rush which I appreciated. Since then everything has worked like a dream. The follow up water/system check was yesterday and all systems are performing as they should.
I know there are less expensive/more expensive systems around. I wanted a system that would last and more of less take care of itself with little effort on my part. We have had several different systems (at various price points) through the years, and all have had problems. In the short time this has been installed the water is soft and clear, the filtered water is crystal clear. The difference is noticeable. I could not be more pleased with the system. 
I feel that Shelton's will be readily available should issues arise in the future.

They did a great job on the install, having to dig a trench, add pipe and install where I wanted it in the garage. Work was done in one day and the clean up outside was great. I had to do a small amount of sweeping, but that was no big deal. I called for an annual chaco up and had everything checked out and re-explained to me. The unit works great and has made a difference in how we use water in the house.

Shelton's was prompt in coming for the initial contact to explain their products and give me an estimate. 

After checking references, we set the date for installation.  The workmen were prompt, professional & courteous .  They explained everything they would be doing and about how long it would take.   They were very neat and cleaned up everything when the work was completed.

Tyler came out the next day to recheck my water quality & make sure the installation was running correctly.  

I have had the unit since 3/31/2012 and am delighted with it.
