The same weather front that produced the EF5 tornado in Moore, Oklahoma on May 20, 2013 came further south and reduced strength winds from that same weather front shredded the roof on our covered patio. In April 2011, we also had straight-line winds of 90-100 mph which took big chunks of our house roof off as well as a large portion of the roof on our small storage barn. The missing shingles were not even in our yard. We found Quality Tops Roofing on Angies List in 2011 and Quality Tops Roofing did an incredible job completely replacing our house and barn roofs. When the patio roof was shredded on 5-20-2013, of course, we called Quality Tops Roofing again. Quality Tops did an absolutely excellent job in replacing our patio roof, as well. I decided to get 3 quotes for roof replacements due to hail damage on two houses; my home and my nearby rental property. I think 3 quotes on large jobs is the right number to determine if contractor prices and options are reasonable, without producing a time burden on me in collecting dozens of quotes, or disrespecting the contractor's time by making a dozen businesses spend time on quoting a job that only one will ultimately get. I contacted the provider and indicated that I wanted a specific type of shingle on my home. (He was my second quote; his first competitor tried to push an underlayment upgrade on me that I didn't want.) He called and left a voicemail and when I called back, we scheduled an appointment for a Friday afternoon to meet at my house. I called my tenants and made them aware to expect us shortly afterwards. He called a couple days in advance, and said he had family coming in to town and wanted to meet at a different time. I have a standing arrangement with my supervisor that I can take off early Friday if I work later hours earlier in the week, and I had already started working later to be able to make our original appointment...so I was a tad irritated at the scheduling change, but agreed to it because he was willing to meet after my work hours. So I called my tenants and updated them on the schedule change. The afternoon of the appointment, my last business client of the day arrived 45 minutes late, and then I had to kick her out as politely as I could so that I could make my appointment with this provider. Even though she was late, my client made comments to my boss because she was irritated that I wouldn't stay late to conclude our business. As I rushed home, I listed to my voicemail and discovered a message left half an hour before the appointment saying that he couldn't make it because he had to take his wife to the ER. Now I am not suggesting that any man should EVER fail to take his wife to the ER when she requires, but there are 4 guys pictured on his business card and I would have been fine with any of 'em... So then he follows up by calling me a couple times, but I am not free to call back during most of the work day. When I was able to get free, I called him back and discovered he had already arrived at my rental property without clearing it with me first. I was VERY unhappy with this state of affairs because I do not like contractors to show up at my rental property without me. First, I think it makes me look unprofessional to my tenants to not coordinate with them in advance, especially after already telling them we were coming twice. Second, I was having problems with one set of tenants (after telling them they had to get rid of their lease violating pit bull or move) and I knew they would seize on any little thing to whine and complain about in retaliation. I tried to make the best of things by texting my tenants about his arrival, but the pit bull owner tenants ended up giving me an earful later anyhow about how they didn't appreciate lack of notice, etc. So then I get home and find a business card on my own porch, because apparently he went by there with no notice too. I wasn't so upset about him dropping by my house, but I don't think it was very professional to go to a rental property inhabited by people who would have had no idea he was coming if I hadn't happened to get his voicemail when I did. So he leaves a message later telling me he's preparing a quote for me and asks where to send it, and I debate whether to even call back and tell him about the ridge vent upgrade I wanted (which I hadn't had a chance to tell him about). He struck me as a scheduling chameleon which I don't need, and I wasn't sure I even wanted a quote anymore. Switching his scheduling around and showing up unexpectedly on short notice may not be at all inconvenient to people who have more flexible or different work schedules, but for me it's Excedrin headache #452. So he sends me quotes, but it was clear that he hadn't recalled from my original contact with him that I wanted a specific type of shingle (Energy Star rated cool shingles), because he quoted something comparable to the existing shingles on both houses. I thought the pricing for what he did quote was more than reasonable: without seeing my insurance paperwork, he came out $366 below RCV on my home and $1043 below RCV on my rental property, which would have allowed me to get some of the upgrades I wanted with less additional expense on my part. (Some Angie's List readers will be disappointed that I don't list specific prices and # of squares here, but due to the fluctuating material prices, I don't think that information sets reasonable expectations...) Due to the pricing, I was considering calling him back...but then after my 3rd quote with his 2nd competitor who was SO accommodating to my schedule, easy to deal with, and reasonably priced....I just didn't want to deal with him or the first competitor any more.

I will, without any reservation or qualifiers, recommend Quality Tops Roofing to family and friends. QTR delivered what I was looking for in a re-roof job and they did so without the need for me to continuously watch over their shoulders. When I did inspect progress, the site foreman and crew welcomed my effort, addressed my concerns, and took appropriate action when and where necessary. The job was estimated to take one day, but ran into the very late afternoon of the second day as weather slowed movement for a few hours and deck replacement and other discovered repairs extended scope; regardless, Quality Tops Roofing's last actions on site were just as thoughtful and deliberate as their first. I didn't have to worry about clean up either as that seemed as important to QTR as every other phase of the project. I will I would count my self very fortunate if all work on my house went so smoothly.

Very responsive and good communication. The only downside was the price, which was based on the minimum charge for a job. Given the small amount of work required, I felt this was high - especially since the guy who provided the estimate came back to perform the actual service too. Nevertheless, I was pleased with the service and would recommend/use them again. Maybe I'll also work to gird myself to climb to the 2nd story ridge, to save some $ in the future :)

As mentioned my roof was damaged and called several companies. Quality roofing gave me the best quote and worked with my deductible to give me a discount. They showed up on time and was thru at 14:00 hrs. and cleaned up afterwards. The company also worked with me in getting the Insurance payment.

We had only 10 days to complete requested repairs and they were very responsive. Showed up same day for an estimate and completed work quickly. Grounds were clean.

They did a great job. They left the grounds clean and free of any nails. They did the job quickly and at a reasonable price.

Excellent job from start to finish. Bruce was easy to work with, throughout the process. His crew was punctual and I had only one small issue which was corrected the same day in which it was brought to their attention. I would certainly use their services again in the future.

I was in the process of selling our home when several inspectors from prospective buyers notated several issues with roof damage. The president of QTR came out quickly and gave an overall assessment of the roof. Unlike some other roofers he gave an honest opinion that the roof was still in good shape and it would only require minimal repairs. He gave a reasonable quote which we utilized during the house selling negotiations. I appreciated Bruce's responsiveness and honest assessment. I would definitely use them in the future.

We knew we had missing shingles, but we also know we had sustained some hail damage. We weren't sure if we needed total roof replacement or just replacement of missing shingles. Paul came out and told us we did not need to have the roof replaced. We had 3 areas where shingles were missing and a few spots where shingles were lifting. He gave us a bid to have the 3 areas fixed. We set a date for him to meet me and provide us with a quote. When I arrived to meet him, he had already been on the roof, assessed the damage, and had the quote ready for me. Once I signed the paperwork to have them fix the roof, they called with a date estimate of when they would be able to come out. Unexpectedly, I got a call earlier than when originally scheduled. They had a break in their work schedule, and could squeeze me in that afternoon. They arrived, fixed the roof, and cleaned up all the debris. It was hard to tell that they were even there, except that we now had shingles where they had previously been missing. We were pleased with the work that was done, and the price they quoted us.

This company was recommended by my insurance company at the time of the damage. Clients extremely happy using this company when needing to replace/repair their roofs. I was impressed the time they spent with me, explaining all my options, answering all my questions & offering suggestions. The roofers arrived when scheduled, quickly did their job with the least amount of disruption. Also, a crew arrived each day to clean up the debris My yard was totally clean when they left & I had a beautiful roof. I highly recommend this company.

It was overall a great experience and were so happy with our roof, I look at it every time I take my dogs out in front yard which is 2 or 3 times a day :-)

I called to get quotes in August 2012. I received several quotes, one roofer wanted the check when they arrived to start the job. Another roofer misplaced the insurance information they requested to give me a quote. Quality Tops Roofing gave the quote and I made my decision and had the roof replaced in October 2012 and the quote was still good. Payment was made 2 weeks later on a return visit and inspection of the roof. Do get several quotes, expect answers to all your questions, and don't pay until the work has been completed.

They were prompt, courteous, and efficient. I would use their services again.

I just had to have some minor roof repairs. No complaints--if I a hail storm hit my roof they will be the first ones that I call.

Everything went pretty good from start to finish. There were a couple of times when I didn't get a call back, but it was during the holidays and they did get back to me.

The entire process was explained to me at the time of the estimate. All of the work was performed at the time and way they stated.

Shingles blew off a rental property on Saturday. I called on Monday. They inspected the roof on Wednesday and found no other problems. They completed the work on Friday. Minimum service call price was charged with a 5% Angie's List cumstomer discount. Mike and Paul were friendly and helpful. They called back to make sure I was satisfied. I am very satisfied and will use them in the future if needed.

I am so pleased with this company. Firstly, the same man who bid the job came back to do the job! That is so rare, and it made me feel really comfortable that I knew who was coming to do the work. He went above and beyond, checking other things on the roof, and answering all my questions. Later, after I paid the bill, I realized I had forgotten to use my angies discount so they mailed me a check for the discount I would have received. So impressed! I highly recommend this company.

The crew came to my home on a Saturday and completed all the work that day. They repaired a leaking spot on the roof and replaced and painted a damaged soffet board. They were very neat and able to work while I was out of the house.

Bruce, the president, was he first representative I met with. He made recommendations on where I could save money and suggested a better way to vent the attic. He is very professional, straightforward and honest. Within 45 minutes, he inspected the house, answered all of my questions and wrote up an estimate. The estimate was very detailed in what was to be accomplished and in the lower half of all the estimates I received. The work was delayed a day due to high winds, but was completed in the 2 day time estimated from when they started. The crew covered the swimming pool to prevent roofing material from falling in. Cleanup was spotless. Prior to accepting any money, a supervisor walked the roof with me to insure that the job was completed properly. I am very satisfied with the work and the company.

We were very impressed with the professionalism and the estimated costs of repairs. My husband was well informed. My roof sustained some minor damage during the storms around Christmas 2012. I had "blue tarped" the damage myself and then found Quality Tops on Angie's List. I visited their website over a weekend and submitted the online form to request an estimate. The following monday I received a call from their scheduler who scheduled an estimate and also confirmed all the info I had submitted online. The estimator was punctual and arrived at the scheduled time/date with no troubles. After agreeing to the work, they came out in advance of the scheduled day and did the repair work. They also had snail mailed a detailed information packet about the company etc that arrived the day or two after I spoke with the scheduler. All in all they did good work at a fair price. I would use them again.
