Plumbing, Water Heater Service
$585
This is the company my home warranty required me to use to have my waterheater replaced.  I was overcharged for the items not included in my warranty.  They charged me more than the industry standard for the permit (3x's) and when I checked with the city permit department, they did not even get one.  I called to speak with the owner/manager three times and my call was never returned.  I would not recommend this company.

Their dispatcher said they would be here in the morning and didn't show up until after 6 pm. I had told the dispatcher we had some old pipe that was leaking and since they were going to be in the wall, I wanted it replaced vs. patched. The dispatcher was agreeable to that but the plumber wasn't. By the time the plumber got here, I think he had had enough for the day. He actually made things worse, turned off the water and left. When he came back, he was not very pleasant and refused to do the work in accordance with what his dispatcher and I had discussed. He insisted that was a separate job and bid and insisted on doing a patch that would have to be replaced later vs. replacing the line coming down from the attic. He also refused to turn the water on and off, insisting we do it. I think he was worried that doing so might cause another leak. We found another leak by a sink but he said he didn't have the parts and would have to come back. It wasn't leaking a whole lot at the time so we put a bucket under it. By the time he got back we didn't see a leak there so he refused to work on it. We had a bathtub faucet that needed to be replaced. The Home Warranty company would only pay for a chrome replacement of a brass fixture. I asked if they would give me credit for the chrome faucet and upgrade me to a brass fixture. We danced around this for a few days via e-mail but they eventually refused to give me any credit for the chrome faucet so we ended up cashing out with the home warranty company and hiring someone else. We had a couple more problems come up over the next couple of months. The home warranty company kept sending them out over my objections. Each time I asked them to look at that leak we had seen under the sink but they refused to work on it saying they didn't see a leak now, even though they had seen it before. It turns out the leak was behind the wall and continued to slowly leak for a couple of months. On one of these visits we had a leak in our attic which turned out to be a hot water heater going out. They agreed to replace the hot water heater but insisted on several improvements and code upgrades to the tune of about $550 out of pocket. Fortunately, I got a friend and did it myself although it took another 90 days to get reimbursed by the warranty company. On top of all this, they told the warranty company I hadn't paid the $55 service fee even though their receipt showed otherwise. As a result I had to dig out their receipt and prove they were lying to the home warranty company. I was so glad when the home warranty company stopped sending these plumbers out. I hope I never see or hear from them again.

Everything was done in an efficient and courteous manner. It was not an easy job., but Robert was always on top of the situation, and worked with the his helpers in a quick and thorough manner. I have recommended Plumbing Rx to anyone I meet that needs plumbing help.

Drain Cleaning
$55
I was referred to Plumbing Rx by my home warranty company (fixed $55 service fee) to fix a clogged drain. I got the Plumbing Rx info on Monday, with the note they would call me within 24 hrs. No call. I called them on Wednesday and they said someone would be out and gave me a time window of 4 hrs. I work full-time and while I understand they need to schedule a time window, I need to know about it ahead of time. We set several appointments and they missed every one of them (they didn't call me, I had to call them every time to find out when they might show up), and he finally made it out to my house at 8 pm on Thursday. Did the work fine, Steve was great and explained the situation and that I need to have a camera run to find out where the roots are getting in and have that section of drain replaced; it is a 30+ year old house. He said he could give me discount on the camera service since they had already serviced the house. I called Friday and scheduled an appointment for Saturday, 8-12 pm. 12 pm came and went and there was no call and no one showed up so I called and canceled the service. I'm tired of missed appointments and a complete lack of communication. I would not recommend this plumber to anyone.

It went excellent. I was able to call the actual plumber that I was using directly when there were problems. This has been an ongoing problem I was having and he was able to put the pieces together and solve it.
