Animal Boarding Kennels
Mostly good. One dog very anxious, trying to climb out the window, puppies didn't have beds until the last night because they had been given cloth blankets which one puppy was chewing. Elevated beds were provided after I complained; said they were worried about dogs swallowing bedding and having a blockage. Paid extra for webcams that would only work on Internet Explorer and Firefox, which we do not have and can't load on our cell phones, so we couldn't view the dogs until we borrowed a laptop, still shots only, not video. Never saw the TVs on, but they are positioned at a severe angle from the webcam, so they may have been on. Paid for all dogs to have playtime together daily, which they got from what we could tell, plus got extra free playtime and pixs of the dogs playing on Saturday since we and the dogs were anxious; that was helpful. Had made up each dog's daily meals and supplements in labeled ziplock freezer bags which were not returned as I would have preferred, to verify all meals fed and for reuse (hey that was time consuming to label each meal and those bags are pricey). Did not know if one pup on meds and needing a medicated bath got her bath or meds, not noted on report. All meds, toys and collars were returned to us at pick-up. Dogs were healthy and happy to see us, did not seem traumatized from boarding.

Their efficiency stands out. One thing I like about them is that you can take your animals there, drop it off at clinic time and pick it up after a couple of hours. They have inside and outside kennels. They have playtime. They can actually do day dog sitting. They have full service. You pay for what you get.

Read this if you love your pet. Sorry it is so long. But I wanted to be fair and complete. And also, because I can hardly think of any service more important than one in which I entrust my dogs. Who are like my children. This is not about a plumber, electrician or landscaper. It is about the care of my "kids." I have boarded four dogs at this establishment - from anywhere from 3 to 10 days - over several years. As much as I would like to give a good review, I can't. I would never board my dogs here again. And I blame myself for not being more perceptive to the problems and for being too lazy to check out other options. Trust me, there are better options. If you love your pets, don't make my mistake. Let me begin by stating that pet resort in the gardens in arlington is the costliest boarding I have found after looking into other several similar boarding places the last few days. Even more expensive than Dallas places. The pricing structure is also confusing. You are charged a base fee for the room - which itself is more expensive than the total fees of other places I checked out. Yet, you end up being charged much more if you truly care about your dog's well being. When you arrive, you are presented with a menu of extras which is incredibly confusing. Every time I have been there I joke/complain that this menu is confusing and I need it explained to me. Usually, the reception staff agree with me. I may not be too bright, but my wife is a PHD and it took her several visits to figure it out. Despite my comments, the menu has not changed. More importantly, other than the room and feeding - everything else is extra. When you add the extras, the price becomes ridiculous. Group play - extra. Private play - extra. Anything else you can think of - extra. If you don't add the extras, your pets are pretty much stuck in their room 24/7, except for potty breaks. These are rooms with no natural light and, unless you splurge for a slightly bigger room, they are not much larger than closets. I refer to it as solitary confinement. Would you like your pet in solitary confinement for an extended period of time while you are away? Oh, even if you do splurge for group time - there is no group time on weekends. So, on weekends, all that is available is private playtime, in very small increments of time (I think a couple of 20 minute sessions). No matter how much you are willing to pay - your pet will essentially be alone in the room on weekends. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that I accepted this for my dogs without looking at other options. Not one other place I looked at in the past few days subjects pets to such isolation on weekends. If you need to get in touch with the establishment on Sunday or holidays, good luck. The Sunday pick up hours are extremely limited, and in the past they had none. On major holidays there are none. Every other place I checked out has longer Sunday hours and has Holiday hours. As far as I can tell, this place does not listen to phone messages or read emails on Sundays and Holidays. I always choose the most expensive room for my dogs, which has a webcam (in fairness, I should say that the webcam is not extra, although price of room, even without extras is ridiculous). One Sunday morning I saw on the webcam that the water bowl was situated where one of my dogs could not get to it. The next day, Monday, was a holiday. So there was no group time where my dog might find another water bowl to drink from. I was frantic because my dog might not have water for at least two days. I started calling that Sunday morning and leaving messages and begging for a response. I kept calling. No response. I emailed. No response. It was not until Tuesday that I heard back. Not much more to say here. The only reason I went back to this place is because the owner called me to apologize, and because I was lazy. My bad. When I depart, and pay, I have two or more very excited dogs on leashes, so the staff bags up our toys and medications and helps me to the car with them. On three occasions, they forgot to include the medication. Twice I had to drive all the way back to get the medicine. The third time a bell rang in my head and I remembered to check the bag while leaving the parking lot and went back inside for the medicine. This makes me wonder if the medication was administered properly. I will never know. But the moment I had doubt, I should have ended my relationship with pet resort. My bad. There have been other similar professionalism and communication blunders. I will only share my most recent. Currently I have two dogs - both golden retrievers. My beagle, a frequent boarder there, died last year. Yet, even though I informed pet resort on multiple occasions that my beagle died, they continue to send me email reminders about her vaccinations etc. You can imagine how "it makes my day" to receive those emails. I even received one today. Back to the recent experience. I called several weeks ago to make a reservation for my two Goldens for last week. I also placed calls to make reservations for July 4th weekend and Christmas and New Years. I showed up last Tuesday morning to drop off my Goldens for one week. I went through the menu/extras ritual, agreeing to pay lots of extra $$$ to spring my dogs from solitary confinement for weekdays (remember, this is not really possible on weekends). I made my usual joke/complaint about the confusing menu form, and left. My flight was a little later that day. I went home to change and grab my bags when I received a call from pet resort. I was told that because one of my Goldens (J.R.) had misbehaved in group time on a prior visit he was banned from group time. Thus, J.R. was looking at seven days in solitary confinement - other than a couple of 20 minute private play times I had purchased, and potty breaks. In other words, my dog, who I love, would essentially be confined to his fully enclosed, depressing room slightly bigger than a closet (for which I also paid extra) for one full week. Yeh right. I love my dogs. Bad enough that there is no group time on weekends for any dogs, but I'm going to allow this for a whole week? I was quite upset. Wouldn't you be? Pet resort then called back and said they would give J.R. one more chance. A presidential pardon from his one week sentence to misery, if you will. Yeh right. I get on a plane on Tuesday, not scheduled to return for a week, and then find out one day later that pet resort had decided that J.R. had violated "his parole" and was being placed back in solitary confinement for the rest of his stay? Am I supposed to fly home to bail him out of jail at that time? I would not take that chance. I frantically searched for another option - immediately found a wonderful place with all day group time, including weekends and holidays, included in the cost of the room. This place has liberal Sunday hours and is open for pick ups on holidays. This place answers the phone on weekends and holidays. This place has large indoor and outdoor play areas with a pool. This place is substantially less costly than pet resort. I called pet resort, told them to pack up my dogs' stuff and that I would be there in 30 minutes to spring my dogs. I rushed so as not to miss my flight, grabbed my dogs and placed them in the car. Pet resort placed the bag of my dogs belongings in my trunk, and I sped off. This is when the bell went off in my head to pop the trunk to check for medications - sure enough pet resort forgot them. I went back, and when the manager brought out the medicine, I was not pleased about this whole experience and told her so. She said the owner would call me. That call never happened. So I sent pet resort a short email yesterday, and noted that on top of everything else that I was flabbergasted that the owner had not reached out to me. I then received a call from another manager who claimed that she had called me a couple of days earlier and left a voice message. Then why did I not receive the message, and why was there no record on my iPhone about a recent missed call from pet resort? Hmmm .... As for J.R.'s misbehavior. He's a seven ye

Animal Boarding Kennels
We have two large-breed dogs and we travel several times a year. When my regular pet and house sitter retired, I went looking for a good place to board them. I knew the place because I drive by it on the way to work every day, so I dropped in to check it out one day. The staff is friendly, the dogs in the day care run looked happy, so I booked them at the next opportunity.
When we arrive to drop off the dogs for boarding, they pretty much rush the door and barrel into the lobby with big grins and wagging tails. They not only remember the place, they are excited to be there and happy to see the staff. When I return to pick them up, the staff usually gives me a little information that isn't on the report card - like, and quot;BB did great on his leash this time, They were so easy to handle.and quot; or, and quot;BD was having a ball playing with the other dogs in the yard.and quot;
Yes, they are not cheap. I could find a less expensive place to board, but the great service, friendly staff, and the fact that my dogs LOVE this place keep me coming back.

Went perfect - they were spoiled and loved on - it was obvious how well they were treated when I picked them up. The whole staff there is wonderful.

I was pleasantly surprised of the care that was given my dog while in their care. Everyone there, from the receptionist to all the attendants were thoughtful, caring individuals. They took note of my dog's idiosyncrasies and worked around them and through them, which I most appreciated. When I came to pick him up, they had changed their policy and gave me a written report card on my dog's stay and how it went. This I found most helpful. They are truly the best and I would recommend them to anyone. Their prices are reasonable, the facility very clean and orderly, and the staff superb.

Upon picking my dog up, I received no report on how he did. Lifting him up into my car, I noticed he was skinner than normal. After we got home I gave him some food. For the next 24 hours he had the worst diarrhea ever. I made an appointment with my Vet and come to find out he lost 2 pounds while there for 1 week. Instead of his normal 20lbs he was now 18lbs. Thats 10 % of his original weight ! When I first inquired about his stay there, they stated that upon the dog's arrival they weigh him and then weigh him again 3 days later. If this was done, why was I not informed of such a dramatic weight loss ! ...I now have a very sick dog and I am not pleased at all with this boarding facility. In speaking to the manager, she stated that perhaps her employee's should have notified her and me of this ( ya think ! ) I will not use nor recommend this kennel.

The staff at the Pet Resort are amazing. They really care about the animals they board and look after for day care. I thought doggy daycare was a bit silly but it was so much better for Jack to be over there playing with other dogs while he waited for us to come and get him after his vet visit. He was really happy (and exhausted) when we picked him up. It was great to watch the staff work with him to get the harness back on (he was very excited) and we even got a cute certificate saying he'd passed the temperament test and was welcome back. :-) They even have web cams so we can check in on him during the day! The rest of the facilities looked great and if we ever need to board Jack I wouldn't hesitate to bring him here.
