I called on a cold, rainy fall day, thinking he'd offer to come in a day or two.  He said it would take him a little while to drive from Arlington to Fort Worth, but he was there within an hour.  He set right to work, never said much, and had it working better than before in a short while.  He said a cable had broken and the upper part needed some reinforcement to help it work more smoothly.

Did an excellent job.  Very responsive and completed work quickly and successfully.

It went well as usual. They are very friendly, do a good job and are not over priced at all. Actually they are usually less than a competitor. Be warned the work truck is beat up, but the service is very good. I have use this company on previous houses to.

He performed the work quickly, efficiently and for a great price. He came out on a Sunday to fix it for us and was very pleasant and great to work with. We will definitely use him in the future.

He did a great job and came on Saturday morning to look at the job, was on time, gave a free estimate and was very complete in explaining what he would need to do. I contacted him on Monday and he was able to start and complete the job on Tuesday for me. I am very pleased with the outcome and the overall process. I highly recommend this company.

Prompt, professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. Failed spring was of incorrect rating. Richard installed correct springs (based on his calculations) and door has never operated as smoothly and quietly. Considering all, final price seemed low - would have gladly paid more. Richard Carter is the guy you need to use if you have a garage door/opener related problem. He has been in this business for 40 years and knows what he is doing. I had a Genie garage door opener that finally bit the dust after 32 years. Richard came out on 8/27/09 and took a look at it, but it couldn't be fixed. He told me he could come back the following day and install a new one for me. He told me I could buy the opener myself to save some money and he would install it--he told me he would charge $65. The next afternoon he came out and worked for two hours and did a great install. True to his word, Richard wrote up the invoice for $65, but I told him that was not enough and I gave him $120--and it was worth every penny. This guy is honest as the day is long and I really enjoyed talking to him, too, as we both have lived in Arlington for a very long time. If you are having a garage door/opener problem, you need to call Richard. You won't regret it.

Richard was very prompt, took little time to perform the task and was extremely affordable. I would refer him to any one having a problem with their garage door.

This is a one man business. Richard is extremely professional, courteous, and you can't beat his prices. I got bids from three companies and Richard's price was less than half of one of the estimates I received. I called at 11 this morning and he was out by 1:30 to do the work. I plan to use him for any work I need done in the future as well as would recommend his service to anyone.

Gave an estimate that was one half another well advertized company I had used twice before. He returned on the second business day exactly at time scheduled. He brought all the tools he needed and even a fifty dollar torsion bar that he may have needed with an alternate bid. He completed the work in less than two hours. No fuss, no bother,very effecient. He worked alone and obviously new exactly what to do and how to do it.

The gentleman that came out named Richard was a really, really good person. It was great. He came out and worked about an hour or so on the door and didn't even charge us for it because he couldn't fix it. He had to order new parts for the door. He was very prompt. He is just a great guy.

This man is a jewel. We called him in the morning and he was there the same day. He quickly assessed the problem and fixed it but that's not all. He said the wiring looked old and replaced it all without charging for it! He also straightened out the door that had become warped. And his price was great! I'd hire him again in a minute!!

Our garage door became jammed after a pole got in the way of the descending door. We couldn't get it down at all, and it appeared to be torqued. Some of the rollers were coming off and one of the cables had become detached. I called Richard at 8:15 in the morning. He was at our house within the hour and had it fixed within 30 minutes. We were on our way to work by 10:00. He's truly a lifesaver! This is at least the third time I've used him (maybe I have garage door issues?) and he's always be exemplary.

They did a good job. They came quickly and fixed the problem. The price was reasonable for the work that they did. I would recommend them and use them again.

He is the best person to fix garage doors. And if you ever need him, you should definitely call him. He is the doctor of garage doors. I have been using his for 25 years. He is also inexpensive.

Richard came out and installed a new garage door opener that I had bought at a home improvement store. He told me over the phone that I could buy it cheaper than one he could supply himself. So that saved me money. He could have tried to sell me one himself, but didn't. He is very busy, but worked me in, in a timely manner. He installed the new opener in little time and did a good job. He also hauled away the old one. Plus he only charged me 60 bucks.

I got the names of 3 different companies and this is the only one that went out of their way for me. I couldn't open the garage door and needed it done that day. This guy squeezed me in his schedule about 3 hours after I called him. His rate a lot lower than the other companies I talked with. I highly recommend him.

His price was excellent compared to other estimates we received (ranging up to $350). He was punctual. We called him on a Saturday and came that following Monday and had the job done in approximately 40 minutes.

OMG - this guy is great. I was dead in the water, found Richard here on Angie's List, called and he was here in 1 1/2 hours and he had it fixed within another half hour. Rates are very reasonable. You bet, I'm using him again!
