My home inspection charges are as follows: $250 for 1500 sq.ft. or less and $0.10 for each additional sq.ft. increment. The additional sq ft applies to any outbuildings that require inspection. Multifamily units (duplex, etc) is $250 plus $100 per additional unit plus $0.10 per sq ft over 1500 sq ft. My inspection includes using an infrared thermal imaging camera to help detect energy loss, water leaks, and electrical hot spots. In addition to home inspection, I am certified in Infrared Thermography, Decks, Pools, Landscape Irrigation and WDI (termite) reports. My basic charge includes everything except the WDI report. That is an extra $75 when done in conjunction with a home inspection. I have long ladders to reach the roof, which I consider a priority for inspection. My background includes construction and HVAC. My average time spent on an inspection is 4 hours. I only do one inspection a day, which gives me time to handle unexpected issues and to give a through briefing.
