Mr. Handyman of Arlington

I used Mr. Handy man several months ago to install a storm door on my home. When I scheduled the appointment, I was given a quote of $375.00. When the technician arrived, he was alone. I told him I thought he would need help since the door weighed 139 lbs. He frowned and said, "yeah probably". But he did not call for any help. So I helped him. He had no clue what he was doing. I had to find a video on YouTube on how to reverse the swing and install the door. It took him several hours to do a job that should have taken an hour max. After the technician left they emailed me a bill for $415.00. I called the office to discuss the poor work, the additional charges and that he had taken my keys with him. No one answered so I left a message. I got a call right back to collect the payment. I told them of the problems and she said she would have the office manager call me the next day. The office manager called the next morning. She was extremely rude and kept interrupting me while I was trying to talk to her. I told her of the problems and asked to speak with the owner. She said he was out of the country for 2 weeks but that I would not be allowed to speak with him because he paid her to handle the business. I asked about the additional $40.00 charge. It was a service charge and wear and tear on the tools. What??? I told her I would not pay them until they sent someone out to make the job right. Her response was "We'll come take the door down". I never heard another word from them even though I made several calls to them and left multiple messages. The door has a large gap at the top because it is not hanging level. He split my door jam when installing the hinge because he refused to drill a pilot hole before placing the screw in the wood. He refused to cut the excess metal from the bottom of the door as instructed by the manufacturer and instead butchered my thresh hold to make it fit. Aside from the one invoice sent by email the day of the service call, they have NEVER sent me bill or an invoice by mail, email or text. Today I get a threatening call from Robert at UCI because Mr. Handyman turned me over to collections. I told Robert that I would be happy to pay the bill in full once the work was done right. He said he could not go back to his client with that, but if I would agree to pay $200.00 we could both go our separate ways. I said I would pay the bill in full when the work is done right. He said he would contact his client and inform them that I was unwilling to settle and they should take further action. Not at all what I told him. Bottom line DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. THEY'LL RUIN YOUR HOME AND COST YOU MORE MONEY FIXING WHAT THEY DESTROY.

I would like for others to know Mr. Handyman is reliable and punctual. I kept receiving text messages letting me know where Mr. Handyman was, and his anticipated arrival. He did an ASWESOME job and I will use him again!! Satisfied customer!! (I also would like to give props to the electrian who suggested a handyman for my project)

I was well pleased with the work.

I felt like it was a bait and switch. I request a repair of the french doors and got a lock adjustment. I was told it would take three hours to repair and budgeted for that repair cost. When the contractor for Kings Construction showed up, I was told it would take six hours and I did not have that cost covered. I still need to have the gaps fixed and now it is going to cost me twice as much. I got bids and did not get what I needed completed.

I hired Abdul for some repair around the house and it has turned out to be a disaster, we were quoted $1,575.44 but ended paying $2355.00 because Abdul didn't estimate the correct amount of time/crew members & materials they needed for the job to get done by Friday as quoted not by Monday because they miss estimated for the project, we had water damaged caused by a hail storm and Abdul said that they did not realize there is insulation in there, the ceiling paint that was used was bleeding into the walls, I decided to settle financially with Abdul because we did not want him in our home anymore

It works! I have looked and looked for a welder over a year. Then I found Mr. H. This made it so easy to have welding repairs done. At last we have completed the gate lock repair. He even repaired our wrought iron stairs loose supports. Done. Thank you and we will use Mr.H again if need be.

He took everything off and cleaned it and just did an excellent job. He went in depth not just a surface job.

I experienced a water heater failure that was installed within the attic of a two story home. Several rooms and different levels were impacted due to water damage in walls, ceilings, etc. Mr. Handyman and team from Kirby, Wade, Josh, Allen and Abdul were professional and outstanding to work with. Their service men were always on time and worked hard to get my home back together again for me and my family.

I found John, my handyman, very knowledgeable about the task. He suggested a texture that came out great!

Scheduled twice and didn't show at either appt. Not going to chase a company to do work for me.

TRIED TO TALK TO HOME ADVISER CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT COULD NOT GET ANYONE TO HELP. I WOULD NOT USE HOME ADVISER OR MR HANDYMAN. They estimated 3 to 4 hours and took 7.5 hours but did not complete project. They charged me 6 hrs. and left me to complete steps

They were very prompt. He worked all the time. There was no breaks or down time. He was very friendly.

Excellent job replacing drywall and adding texture to match wall. Already hired company for next job.
