"We actually are not overpriced or incompetent. Your system is extremely old, well past it is expected lifespan, but you refused to replace it. We diagnosed all that was wrong and recommended replacement. You wanted to repair it instead, so we did. We gave you the cost of the repair before any work was started, and you approved it to be done at the price we stated. When you called in regarding the issue that arose we gave you, as is required, our Call Back Policy - If the issue is directly related to the work we did it would be covered under your warranty. If it was unrelated, THEN our diagnostic fee would be assessed. This sounds like it should be covered under your warranty, but we have no way of knowing that until we arrive and see. Hence the need for a Call Back Policy. We are sorry that professional repairs with a great 2-year parts & labor warranty are too expensive for you, as is the recommended unit replacement, but we charge what our market dictates - Any more and no one would use us, any less and we would be out of business. We are actually very competitive for this area, but we are the best when it comes to our warranties & guarantees. If you would like to call the office and speak to us, we would be glad to set you up on a Courtesy Visit (no fee), and look at the issue you are having. If it is related to the work we did, we will honor any warranty you have with us. If it is not, then we would give you a quote for any additional work you may need. But to be clear, your unit is over 20 years old, and repairs to units that are old often cause other issues down the line, and are not recommended. It is time to replace the furnace. If for no other reason than efficiency. Have a wonderful day & stay safe!"
