Kwik Kar 3110 Meadowbrook Blvd. Arlington

We thought we'd found a good, honest in-and-out minor auto service place that didn't require more than a day's work, and could replace our regular mechanic for simple repairs.  We took our cars to Kwik Kar for a year or so, but after the last few visits began to suspect something wasn't right.   
   They had told us that we had an oil leak that would probably need to be fixed down the road; and we began to experience some times of needing to get more oil.  The funny thing was, we never found any oil on the ground to go along with the need for several quarts...  Then, we were told that our radiator would need to be replaced as it was leaking a bit.  Suddenly, we developed a serious leak of fluid that required our stopping every half mile or so to buy more fluid, just to get home! Well, we had let them handle a repair related to that already....! 
   We had the opportunity to take our car in to our regular mechanic later and told him all that had happened and what KK had told us each time they serviced the car.  He checked everything out and told us that 1) our oil had no leaks that weren't age-related and shouldn't be losing that much oil; and 2) if we'd driven much more with the fluid leak without getting it fixed, we'd have lost an axle, because KK had "neglected" to replace a critical pin that helps keep fluid leaks from happening!  HOW do you miss something like that?!  We were out about $400 for the "repair" that led to the possibility of a major and dangerous breakdown, in addition to all of the payments made for things that we were told needed repair. 
   We strongly feel that this particular Kwik Kar location has dishonest employees/supervisor, due to the fact that they continually pressured us about this and that needing imminent repair, and that they created the issues that eventually led to their being able to make more money off of us.  No, we can't prove it, but our regular mechanic is good as gold and honest as the day is long - we learned our lesson not to take our car to ANY one for more than a basic gas fill-up or other DIY service!  We did not return to this KK, nor did we attempt to get a refund or even argue the point - we just stayed away.  Let me tell you, it's hard to see ANY KK now without having bad feelings about the company.
