JMS Lighting Concepts

Jim installed a system of lights for our whole yard. We were pleased with the original work but over time have become more and more disappointed. It was an expensive system which has given us quite a few problems. Requests for them to come back and address issues with the system took months to action. We had a problem with one of lights on one of the trees, it took 3 months to get someone out to look at it, When they finally came, it cost us $800 for them to diagnose and supposedly fix it, but two days later the problem was back. Jim's response was that he had no plans to have a crew in Houston any time soon but would let us know. That was 4 months ago and we've heard nothing since. We finally called in a local contractor. He diagnosed the problem in 5 mins, and it was fixed for $235!! We still haven't heard from Jim Singleton....

We have hired JMS Lighting Concepts twice this year.  Our initial call was returned quickly to set-up an appointment to discuss our needs.  Jim arrived the day and time scheduled, we walked the property and discussed what we were wanting to achieve.  Jim listened, asked questions, and also provided excellent suggestions we had not considered.  Upon completion of the initial visit, he provided visuals of what the "moon light effect" actually looks like, as it is beautiful as compared to bright lights usually seen from residential homes.  The second meeting was set and Jim proposed/provided a written plan, (with materials, labor, cost) and a design/diagram of the entire lighting system we discussed.  It should be noted, these estimates are complimentary, (free of charge).  Jim was professional, very knowledgeable, yet remains approachable and easy to talk with.  His skill-set and material quality in this area were superior, we agreed with the design and hired him for the job.

This job was specifically for the back and side yards, as well as the cul-de-sac.  When the job began, the crew was exceptional.  This foreman in charge, (Ernesto) and his crew were polite, respectful, skilled and pleasant to speak with.  They were so good at digging, filling in trenches, as well as maneuvering through flower beds, there was no evidence of where they buried the cables.  This job required going under walkways, patios, fences, through flower beds, it was extensive and the crew did a fantastic job! 

Upon job completion, Jim allowed us time to ensure the placement of the lights met our expectations.  It was exceptional!  The final product was absolutely beautiful - much more striking then we envisioned.   

The front yard did not have "moon lights" therefore, we called Jim back to create a plan. Again we agreed with the design and wanted the lights installed.

We had a different crew this time, however they were also respectful, very skilled, and nice to talks with. As with the other install, this job required cables going under driveways, etc., and again, they did an exceptional job.  Extremely pleased with their skill set and abilities!  

Upon completion of the second installation, although the lighting was beautiful and specific to the design, we had a concern about one area.  We contacted Jim and he immediately and graciously volunteered to come out at night with his crew and adjust the light placement. (This was at no additional charge).  Upon returning, Jim and the crew were very kind, focused on problem solving.  It's inspiring to see true professionals-and they are!  The lighting is perfect now.  Exceeds our expectations!

It was a pleasure working with Jim and his crews.  Their knowledge and superior skills in this industry are outstanding.  It is evident Jim and his crews are definitely customer service oriented which is a rare find these days! They care about their customers and customer satisfaction.  Thank you Jim - and your crews for an exceptional experience and product! 

They were very professional and used commercial grade products. The lights were strategically placed high up in our oak trees shining down to accent the trees and our backyard features. One light was ground based shining up to accent a set or trees. They could not have been placed better. The lights shine a soft moon glow through the trees onto the ground.

The system operates automatically with light sensors and timers. All electrical wiring is 110 Volts and installed underground and up into the trees with minimal visibility.

They really knew what they were doing and were always polite and professional. The project took several days and they worked with our schedule in mind. After the initial installation they gave us a couple of weeks to view the actual lighting and came back to make any adjustments without charge. They also included a warranty and follow up maintenance service if needed.

They have been in business for a number of years and we would recommend them without hesitation.

Work was completed, pricing was agreed to on materials. I thought labor was high but the service was as agreed as I did not get a concrete labor fee prior to work completed. I am very satisfied the job that was performed and would use them again.

Jim Singleton and JMS Lighting Solutions do only landscape lighting and no other services. This is their business and they are highly skilled in all areas of landscape lighting. Very professional, hard working crews and excellent service. Jim Singleton is an award winning lighting designer who has great vision and creativity. For high level landscape lighting JMS is highly recommended.
