I received a letter from them on May 12, 09 stating that they incorrectly charged from February 07 through May 09 and that I owed them an additional $307.80. In January 07, they installed a cell phone unit in my house and had my wife sign an contract extension which included raising the rates. I called them immediately and stated that they did not inform me of the rate increase and that I did not want the cell unit. They agree to continue to let me pay the $27.99 and their invoices since then only charged me $27.99. When I received the letter in May stating that I owe them an additional $307.80 and I called them and informed of this verbal agreement. They had no record of this even though their invoices clearly reflect the agreed upon rate. Their own invoices clearly reflect the $27.99 from February 07 till April 09. They then offered to waive this fee if I agreed to an additional 5 year contract with them which I refused since I felt like I was being blackmailed into a contract extension. I then received another letter from Fortress on August 28th stating that I now owe them $1060.01. They never sent me monthly statements for June, July and August. They stated that I now owe them late fees, interest and default fee which brought the balance to $1060.01 from the previous $307.80. They then turned this over to Partners Financial for debt collection who now state that I owe them $1559.73 I would not recommend anyone do business with a company with such shady tactics
