Fon's Clockworks

The fall resulted in damage to the cabinet and internal works. He did a great job fixing it and making the clock look as good as new. Also thought that the cost of service was very reasonable.

He was punctual,and did the job for the estimated price.

Scheduled appt. he came to my house, fixed the clock, oiled it up and it works great now.

It was quite challenging. My husband had bought me a watch in Germany. The manufacturer stopped making that particular clockwork. So he had to find something that would fit it. He looked and he looked and he looked and finally called me and said, "Oh, I found it." He is just a delightful person to work with. The watch is working fine now. He also repairs antique clocks. That's where we have used him primarily.

He is very good.  Knows his product and repairs were done in a timely manner.  He even gave us an appraisal and was able to "date" the clock for us.

Since the clock had not been cleaned and oiled since it was received as a gift (about 20 yrs. ago), it was in dire need of servicing in order for it to begin working again. Mr. Fon showed us how to oil the clock once a year. He was the most friendly person and he was so helpful. We would definitely use his service in the future. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

He fixed the clock in the time he said he would, at the price he quoted, and it is almost like it's a brand new clock.

Very meticulous inspection and thorough explanation and final cost was as estimated. The mechanism for time, chime and the pendulum were reassembled after they had been removd for shipping. Since I live close by, 2 days later I went by the shop to check progress, and the clock was hanging on the wall. He explained that he was testing it but further work was needed because the pendulum had been bent.

He explained that it would take a few more days because soldering was needed.

I received a call that the clock was ready. I asked for instructions for winding, etc. and he gave me very good directions and showed me how to wind both the chime and clock. He also showed me how to put the pendulum back on and how to hang the clock after I got it home.

He carried the clock to my car and put it in the trunk for me. I felt very comfortable entrusting this cherished heirloom to Fon's and highly recommend this shop.

I have used Mr. Fon many times in the past and each time the job is done ontime or ahead of schedule and all with excellent results. The very first time I used his services was to repair a Grandfather Clock that had belonged to my deceased parents and had not run for several years. I told him that another local clock repair company had quoted me $350. just to look at the clock even before the total cost would be determined. Mr. Fon quoted me $350. total cost and repaired it complete in 1 week. It's now on its second year and running perfectly. Mr. Fon told me that my Grandfather Clock was now worth about $1500. And I had previously tried to "give it away" unrepaired for $100. just to get rid of it!
