The unit I purchased was an American standard, although it was 100 % new, I believe the coils were defective from the manufacture. James Cain honored his work and changed out my coils and did a great job. I would recommend James Cain to anyone looking to have work done on their HVAC system.

Not only did Mr. James personally supervise the installation but he was the cheapest by $500 to everyone I had shopped from. Replaced the Thermostat, Connector, Etc. Did a really good job.

Didn't show on scheduled time. Didn't size the unit to the home and installed a unit too small. Also didn't pull permits. Overall bad workmanship.

"This was an ins. Claim and we installed the exact same unit that was previously installed per ins. Company orders. Mr. [Member Name Removed] needs to talk to his insurance company and straighten the situation out. This case was investigated by his ins. Company and they said we acted accordingly and installed the correct size unit"

The technician seemed to be pretty new and unsure of what he was doing. He said it was the broil element and would have to order the part. He left a voicemail that he ordered the part but missed the delivery so would have to pick it up. He had taken the broken element and mounting bracket. He said he would return on Friday to install. Never showed. Never responded to text or voicemail. Company's voicemail was full and never returned my call even when the company phone gave option to text the phone owner. Needless to say, HWA had to send a new company to fix the oven. I knew something wasn't right when I had to make out the check to the technician personally, not the company. I had no oven for over 3 weeks thanks to Cains.

The unit ran only 6 weeks before the newly installed outside breaker box caught fire and shorted out. James charged me $200 cash for this repair when it was clearly caused by his mistake when he installed it. 3 days later, the unit stopped cooling. It took him 4 more days to come out. He added more R410A refrigerant. Still wasn't cooling and the compressor would shut off prematurely. The unit was shut down for the winter.Upon starting up this May, 2016, same problems. After 4 phone calls, 4 missed appointments and 17 days total waiting for James to return a call or show up, it was clear he had no plans to honor his written warranty I received. I had to pay another company to come out and correct his work. Refrigerant level was overcharged and there was a broken float switch. The refrigerant level was brought down to normal and the broken float switch was replaced with the proper wet switch for this unit.

"I told homeowner that the wiring looked unsafe, it was wiring installed before the installation thats why I charged him to fix it. We only hook up wire thats already ran, a pic. Electrician has to run that wiring"

STAY AWAY BE WARNED James is a total rip off before he got paid he was all good now that his paid we can't get a hold of him ac worked for an hour ONE HOUR then stopped we called him on Thursday he said I'll be out the Friday at 9 am never showed. I called him at least 30 ttimes no response I texted him no response so finally around 6 pm he called and said he wasn't gonna make it that his been running up and down town trying to find a new unit. He said I'll be there Saturday at 9 am I promise this time I'll be there so Saturday came 9am passed 10 am passed 11am passed I called n called no answer. One of his workers finally shows up at 1PM said JAMES is on his way an hour later he shows up saying he got us a new unit. Then he tells me he stole it from another job he's doing because no one had the unit we need on top of that he tells me he hates doing warranty work because it doesn't pay!!! James and his worker go up to the attic to take down the furnace then we hear a WATERFALL in the BRAND NEW KITCHEN that we just finished re molding the day before . The people from home depot were in the kitchen in stalling a stove when they got all drenched in water. Once again JAMES had to come back he said I'll be back MONDAY to finish instilling the new furnace. I promise I'll be here Monday at 4pm you have my word blah blah blah . Monday comes around and guess what no JAMES I get a call from him at 5pm saying his truck broke down its in the shop blah blah blah he wants to come out Tuesdays. I said fine just finished the job already. He came out Tues days got the dam thing installed. There's still one line he needs to run to the kitchen that he hasn't finished I've been calling and calling and texting no response. I'm tired of this guy's bull we made a police report reported him to the BBB I just want him to get his stuff out of my house and give me my money back!!!! I've got text messages statements from people who got wet for no reason while trying to install a stove for any one who wants to see.STAY AWAY STAY AWAY LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES STAY AWAY
Response from Cain's Heating and Air
"I paid out of my own pocket to buy [member name removed] a new furnace because the original furnace we bought didn't work right and Payne kept sending out their Technical support trying to figure out what was wrong with it because they didn't want to replace a new unit with another one. That's why it took so long to get her system finished and installed. I got tired of the manufacturer doing nothing so I bought a new furnace out of my own pocket. I apologized for the inconvenience and the delay and just went to buy one. I can not make every customer happy but I will do my best and will go above and beyond my part to get the job done and done right. I even changed up all the duct work because [member name removed] didn't like the airflow so we changed the entire design to make her happy. We stayed some nights til 9pm trying to make [member name removed] happy, sometimes we do are best and still fail to make everyone happy but if anyone would like references before doing business with us I can give you as many of them as you like, for every 100 we make happy unfortunately we make 1 unhappy but we try to make everyone happy..."
