"At A and A Fence & Concrete our top priority is the satisfaction of each and every one of our clients. It is of immense concern to us when we have a dissatisfied client and we will do whatever we can to address the issue, as our reviews show. We are a local, family owned business, so our clients are also our neighbors. Our clients, their repeat business, their referrals and their supportive reviews help to ensure our company’s success. In our contract it does state that we are not responsible for damage to sprinkler systems. The reason for this is that unlike utility lines, underground sprinkler lines cannot be located prior to digging. This being said we would never let a minor sprinkler repair get in the way of having a satisfied client. When our sales representative made me aware of his concern that our client was dissatisfied with his explanation of the issue, he recommended to me that, at no cost to the client, we should repair the sprinkler line. I agreed with him and we notified the client that we would repair the sprinkler line. The client agreed to us doing the repair and it was completed the next day. I personally called the client the following day. The client stated that the repairs had been completed and that she was happy with A and A Fence & Concrete and the work we had performed, she then thanked me for taking care of it. I told her if there was anything A and A Fence & Concrete or I could help her with in the future to please call me and I would personally take care of it. Tim Meier Owner A and A Fence & Concrete"
I contacted the company and spoke to a salesman in early May, and got the first of many incorrect proposals on May 15, 2015. Eight emails and four or five calls later I got a proposal on June 19 that at least had the correct information describing the work to be done, but without breaking down the billing as I had requested, since there were two separate elements to the job. At one point I had to call their office and ask if the salesman still worked for the company, as he had not responded to my emails asking for a status update on the proposal.
The work was to be performed on June 22, and I had requested that the workmen come out early, since the fence removal was disputed and they were less likely to encounter interference in the morning. I should have realized by this time that I was dealing with a poorly run outfit and taken my business elsewhere, but I hoped to get this very small job completed in a somewhat timely manner.
Regarding the disputed fence: I had discussed this with the salesmen at our first discussion, and had forwarded him an electronic copy of the survey showing that the existing fence was entirely on my property, and explained that I had consulted with an attorney, I was the 100% owner of the fence, and that I had sent a first class certified return receipt letter to the neighbor to inform them of the situation and give them 30 days to correct the situation or reply. They did neither.
No one had showed up at the house by lunchtime, so I called and spoke to the salesman again, asking if they were coming. They (2 workers) eventually showed up around 2:25 pm. I received a phone call from the salesman saying that the workmen were having trouble with the neighbor, so I went home to check on the situation. I spoke to the only one of the two who spoke a little English, and soon found that their real concern was that the neighbor had threatened to call Immigration Enforcement on them, and that at least one of them was an illegal alien. A police officer who was called out spoke to me to get the facts, and then told the workers that it was okay for them to proceed. They asked the officer about Immigration Enforcement, and the officer replied that if they were here illegally they could be detained if Immigration did in fact show up. When they heard that, they hastily and with poor quality threw up the front return, but did not place the fence where I had directed, which was to the true property line, and not where the existing fence was, which they now refused to remove. I told them in person and the salesman on the phone that if they did not place the return correctly, they might as well not work on it at all, as I would have to pay someone else to install it in the correct location.
The salesman was extremely rude on the phone, shouting and insulting me.
Finally, the company had the gall to send me an invoice for the work, none of which was completed and the greater part of the job not even started. I do not pay for work not completed properly and to a reasonable level of quality.
Suffice it to say that I have had it with this outfit. They certainly will not be allowed to return either to complete this job or start any other.
"At A and A FENCE & CONCRETE our #1 goal is customer satisfaction. We take it very seriously when our customers are not satisfied as our review responses show. As the owner of A and A , I have personally tried to reach out to this customer in an attempt to resolve the issues. The customer has chosen not to return my calls. The issue on this job is a property line dispute between our client and his neighbor. We were not aware of this issue until our workers showed up to start the job. They were told by the neighbor that the fence belonged to him and if we removed the fence he would call the police. As a result of this disagreement, the workers did not remove the fence and only did the work that did not involve the disputed fence. We regret that there have been issues with this job and are willing to do whatever we can to work out the dispute between the two neighbors. An invoice was emailed to our customer in error for the full amount of the job. It should have been for the work we did (not including the disputed fence). A second email was sent within minutes stating the invoice was sent in error and would be corrected. Being paid for the work we have done is not the most important thing to A and A. If our client feels that he should not pay for the work we have done that is fine. The most important thing to A and A is that the customer knows that his satisfaction is our #1 priority."
The fence is beautiful!!! Miro's recommendations on what needed to be done and/or his recommendations was very helpful.
