They just got lazy. My A/C was leaking outside off the roof. The pan was full. I had to call back. It was a half of inch from overflowing. I wish I knew where Oscar went. Truly do. Not recommended at all.

They weren't too good. That is why I decided to go with someone else. We have had problems with them since the beginning. They were not very cooperative at all. The three tier protection plan. The plan only covered so much, and it was so expensive. It was not worth what they were giving. Maybe we got the lemon out of the bunch of air conditioner. From the time it was built, we have had problems. Only one worker came. He was professional and cordial. It was the pricing that he was under. It was expensive. We had trouble with our air conditioner unit, and they were not helpful.

They come in the spring and in the fall. They offer like a warranty where they give you discount is there is anything wrong. I don’t have a problem with them but I think their prices are a little bit high.

Davis installed the AC in our David Weekly house. Very poor job (ducts touching, cheap unit not adequate for the house size, upstairs cold air is always being pushed out when the thermostat is set on off. This mixes with the attic heat and has made some mold. Davis came out and instead of wanting to make things right... wanted to charge $6k to replace cheap non motorized dampeners, TXV and a coil. The AC is running fine. I just wanted someone to better insulate or suspend my ductwork and to reroute the airflow back into the system. Their technician took pictures of the ductwork and some of the vents and sent it to the "office" to see if they'll take care of it. I haven't heard back at all. I've had 2 other opinions and they did their best to not slam Davis AC but both said it was a terrible install from the jump. It's too bad Weekley and Davis are in cahoots with home building and ac installation... they cut corners and just want the money for the repairs they'll need to do on their poor initial install. Go with any other contractor... seriously. View Your Survey

We originally used Davis 10 years ago when our old, small air conditioners started blowing circuit breakers.  We initially had an ARC service guy working on the system but he left (purposely?) the refrigerant valves loose and we lost air conditioning during a hot summer day. Davis was recommended by a builder who my wife worked with as an interior designer.  Davis came immediately and fixed the problems with fluids and wiring issues, and when the system started failing over a few more years (20 years old), they replaced the entire system including air ducts.
We have been extremely happy with them over the years.  The technician is thorough during each semi-annual check-up, cleaning the coils and periodically refilling (at no additional charge to the monitoring fee) refrigerant levels.  They have called a couple of times to say the system seems to be overworking as measured via the internet monitoring and they made adjustments.  When we did have a problem with one of our two units, they sent a technician immediately to fix it.

Unprofessional, unreliable.  This is probably the WORST service provider that I have done business with in the area.
First appointment:  Afternoon arrival scheduled for work (the builder had already filled them in on the issue).  Serviceman shows up at 6pm and spends 15 minutes in the house, after declaring that it is duct work that needs to be repaired (duh, that is why he was scheduled in the first place).  I was told they would call to reschedule an appointment to repair.
Second appointment:  Afternoon arrival scheduled for work completion.  NOBODY shows up; NOBODY calls.  When I call them at 5pm (I just figured they were late, as always), I am informed that they didn't have the correct number on file, so they didn't show up.  Apparently, having the correct house address is not enough, as "they don't want to waste their time."  WHAT ABOUT MY TIME?!?  I ask about rescheduling for the next day (Saturday), since they had missed the Friday appointment, and was informed that weekends are only for emergencies (meaning, your AC must be completely out; not just in half your house).  I express that when half my air conditioning in my house is out, I consider that an emergency, and they proceed to ask why the AC is out in half my house (UMMM, because I have had 2 appointments scheduled and you haven't fixed it!?!?).  When I ask to speak to someone else or a manager, I am told that nobody else is there.  Yet, after I continue to express my concern over the service, someone else suddenly appears on the phone.  I ask them to hold for a minute while my husband finishes the call with our builder, and they tell me that I can call back in five minutes (After they had told me earlier in the call that they were closed, and phones would be going to voicemail?!?  And PS - I have waited 2 days; pretty sure you can wait 5 minutes).  All around unreliable and unprofessional.
Third appointment:  Window is 10-2pm.  Technician shows up at 2:10pm.  Promptness is certainly not their forte.
Technician was fine, but overall, just a really lousy experience.  Recommend you take your business elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.

"Thank you for taking time to share your concerns. It certainly sounds as though we let you down and I apologize for that. While there are sometimes circumstances that prevent us from arriving within the agreed upon window, this is no excuse not to update you of the schedule. I will be taking this opportunity to re-train our staff on the proper protocol for communicating schedule changes to customers. I would like to speak with you personally to ensure your situation is completely resolved. Please phone me directly at 979-849-8124 x151 at your earliest convenience. Thank you, Heather Davis McCain"

When the technician arrived, I explained what I needed and he went off to inspect the A/C system.  After a couple of minutes, he returned and said that I needed a "Designer" to come out and design/estimate the cost of redoing the duct work.  I informed him that I was surprised because I thought that's what he was.  He said "No" that he wast just a technician.  He said that they could schedule a "Designer" to come out in a day or two, but I would need to pay the $90 service fee for that to happen.  He assured me that the $90 would cover the Designer's visit and I wouldn't have to pay again.  Since I had heard good things about Davis Air, I trusted him and felt comfortable that I would get my money's worth.  BOY WAS I WRONG!
Long story short, despite calling every day for the next 5 days, at least twice per day, I could never get the Designer to call me back and schedule a time for him to inspect/estimate my system.  Every time, I would speak to the same two young ladies in the office and beg them to get the designer to call me, but he never did.  I finally had to contact another company to do the design/estimate for me.
I continued to call for the next week, trying to get a manager or owner or somebody to refund at least some of my money, but my calls fell on deaf ears.  All I ever got was apologies from the ladies working in the office.  No wait!  I did get one guy to call me back, but when I said that I was requesting a partial refund of my money, he said he did not have the authority to do that, but would have the person responsible for that give me a call.  Do you think I ever got that call?
Bottom line Davis Air is probably THE WORST home service company I have ever dealt with.  They basically ripped me off.  I honestly don't see how they are still in business when they treat customers this way.

"I am very troubled to hear that we were not able to provide you with the service you’d hoped for during the purchase of your home. Having read your account of this situation, I have conducted several re-fresher training sessions on the importance of asking the right questions to get the job done correctly the first trip out as well as how to effectively follow-up with concerns. I know that the time period during a home purchase can be stressful and I’m very sorry that were not a point of resolution for you. Please call me at 979-849-8124 x151 so I can get a few further details and help finalize this with you."

I feel it necessary to warn you all of the practices of this company.  This may be the norm for most companies but I have now found a company that meets my needs sufficiently and it is not DAVIS A/C.  Davis was the builders contractor for our ac.  we have lived in our home 5 years going on 6.  EVERY year I have paid beginning in 2009 230-270.00 for tune -ups on my units.  In that time I have had 2 compressor motors and 1 evaporator coil replaced AND at least 7 pounds of FREON replaced.  OF those years, 3 of them I did not occupy the home during the summer-less ac use!  I received all but the evaporator replacement under warranty BUT I had to fight to get the evaporator coil covered as we were 1 month outside of our warranty.  With our history of issues, they kindly replaced it for only the service charge of a mere 268.00.  Through Angie's List I tried another company, Air Tech of Houston and am sold.  Immediately he went upstairs and opened a trap under the sink that the ac drained through and guess what it was clogged shut.(sink never used as it is a kids bathroom and i have babies). In 6 months a trap that was serviced does not get clogged like this.  Guess what, the other trap clogged too and worse, this one does get used 20 times a year when visitors come.  Seems service calls dont include cleaning anything!
Also in 6 months time, I need freon again(yes folks, it was winter-did not use ac much! I am so glad I found my new company.  In Houston, we need our ac to work and they work hard and now MAYBE I can get a few more years out of these crummy units since they are being serviced properly.  They are LEnnox units and I get they are not the best, builders choice, but they are known for leaky coils yet people still put them in! Our new service tech also said we had NO overflow switch-OOPS- guess that couldn't possibly be helpful to someone who has 2 ac units in her attic!!  Guess what have leak spots in ceiling and it seems they might have come from a clogged trap:)))))) Happy I am not with Davis but Happy I am with Air Tech of Houston!

"Dear [member name removed], We are very sorry that your experience with Davis did not meet your expectations. While we do appreciate your continued business beginning in 2009, we’re saddened to learn you’ve selected a new company for your home cooling and heating needs. It sounds as though we were able to assist you with a number of your concerns, but that some were not resolved to your liking. We would like the opportunity to earn back your business. Please call me at 979-849-8124 x151 when it’s convenient for you. I will be more than happy to revisit the outstanding items and work with you personally to resolve them."

I have a yearly maintenance program with them.  They installed the new heating and air conditioning system on my house.  I rely on them for maintenance if any repairs are needed.  I give them the highest ratings and will continue to use them again in the future.

Davis Air has serviced my air conditioner for many years now and we are very pleased with their punctual services. In the spring when they came out, we had a part that was worn and would probably not last long. They mentioned this to me and we decided to replace the part to help ensure no breakdowns later on. The company is very knowledgeable and the service men are very nice to deal with.

We've very happy with Davis and have had not problems since they came and replaced the new unit. They were the ones who originally installed the first unit eight years ago and we called them again because they have done a good job for us. We believe they're quite professional and will continue doing business with them.

Davis Air conditioning has an excellent crew; they removed two air conditioner units from my home and replaced them with two new units in one day. I was very impressed with their efficiency and knowledge in air conditioner installation. I have used Davis air to maintain my old units, so when it was time to replace them I hired them for the installation job. The units are very large and I am pleased with the customer service I received from Davis Air Conditioner.

Davis Air Conditioning & Heating comes to my home twice a year, once in the Spring to service my air conditioner and once in the Fall to service my furnace. I really like their prompt, courteous service in replacing my system this Spring. The service men did an excellent job of removing the old system and putting the new one in its place. The men made sure to clean up all their mess before leaving my home, and I will continue to call them in the future.

My present air conditioner needed some major work so I used Davis Air Conditioner, and we are extremely pleased with the customer service and prices. The men were very efficient in getting the old condenser and evaporation coil removed and the new stuff put in its place. This was a very big job and the men were very professional and knowledgeable in there work.

I did not like the fact that they charged me $80 just to come out. Anyway, they did find a problem. I am just thankful they were able to fix it. I do not think the price was worth it at all. If I had known it would be that high, I would have hired somebody else. The workers were o.k. They don t talk much at all. Honestly, I don't even know what the problem was. I am just glad it s fixed. I am not quite sure if I would hire them again. I would like an estimate first.
