I looked at cement jobs done by this person and they all look OK so I hired based on this. However, I would not have hired had I known what I know now. The first clue of failure on my part was having to call several times to get an estimate. After hiring for the job, the project was slow to begin. When the job got done, about 6 months afterward, the top part of my cement started flaking off. Wes said it was because of the hot tub chemicals so he applied a sealer which was suppose to stop the flaking. He even applied a cover over this treatment which turned my patio a gray, which now didn't match my other cement. Wes said over time the grey would fade and look like the other cement (whicj it's been a year and it still is very grey). But the grey doesn't matter now that all the top has continued to flake off. I have a patio that has turned to rock and sand since the top layer is gone and the patio continues to wear down as the sand loosens an lets its rocks go. I now need to hire someone to take up the patio and start over with pouring cement to fix the problem that Wes left me with.
