My cat was still spurting blood from her ear flap when I arrived when I woke up that Saturday morning and I immediately took her to the clinic. Blood continued to spurt from her ear flap when I arrived and I mentioned to the girls at the front desk when I signed in. I initially noticed the blood spatter on my bathroom floor first that morning then in three other rooms in my house as I searched for her, finally finding her hiding in a box with quite a bit of blood. I was somewhat panicked. As a neonatal nurse, I know her foal blood couldn't be much normally and I had no idea how much she had lost already. I was told to go ahead and sit down and wait. A little time went by and of course I was quite concerned about the amount blood loss/continued blood loss....sometimes knowledge causes us more stress. The girl who signed me in very briefly tried to look at my cat's gums, then said she could tell she hadn't lost much blood. Of course I wasn't convinced she could tell that quick and the cat refused to let me look at all. Definitly, I was a bit panicked. I didn't have to wait much longer, which I was relieved...although I think it would have been longer had I not been persistent. She was examined, then treated day David's new associate DVM and she told me no surgeries would be done until after office closed at noon, another 60-90 minutes. I was given the after hrs phone number and visiting hours. Nothing was said, it never occurred to me she might be discharged the same day since surgery would be until after office hours, recovery time etc. I went grocery shopping on my way home then took a nap after I got home. I had left my phone home as the battery was low and I dint think I'd need it at the time. By the time I woke, I went to call about her and had a voice mail at 12:30 pm from the vet telling surgery was complete and come pick her up. It was about ten minutes after last visiting hours and no one answered the phone....I called several times. I obviously didn't understand that no one would be at the office after last visiting hours. I wasn't able to pick her up until the next morning then. I appreciate that they took care of her quicker. I felt there was some miscommunication since possible discharge was never discussed by the vet before surgery, etc. I ou ld have definitely made sure I was available for her call had I known that info.

Love them. They are so good with animals. My dachshunds loved them. The vet (Sarah ) took each dog and spent time with them and bonded with them. I was extremely impressed.
