Central A/C - Gas - Install
I called Franks to see what was wrong with my air conditioning unit as it was not turning on. I asked for a detailed written explanation of what was wrong with it and if the tech could look at the duct work while he was up there to see if any of it needed to be repaired. What I go was ?The circuit board is fried and I needed to replace my entire system? with a quote for $28k for the system. When I asked the tech if he looked at the duct work, he stated I could just replace it when I replace the system for just under $5k. He did not look at it. I broke down the proposal I was sent and rebid the equipment that I was being offered (in the $28k proposal). I found the exact same system for sale for under the total of $10k. Getting a second opinion as who charges $18k for labor and $5k for duct materials! I found out that my unit only had a loose wire and it cost me $100 to fix. I hope this company has learned a lesson from this. I hope they also know that I am legally allowed to write

They replaced my main sewage line and broke multiple things from gas to the city connection. Their fixes were poor and somehow past. I took pictures of it because I couldn't believe that a bent plastic piece should be placed on an old metal gas line... After they ruined my gate and yard with out coming back to clean it up they tried to tell me I had a gas leak in my house and to not call the city. I called the city and they found nothing and advised I don't allow them to come back. I tried multiple times to reach a manager or someone other than the secretary, but they were always busy. This is criminal behavior in my book!

This was in June 2017. I called because my heater/ac unit was not working. I was told they could repair it but it would keep breaking down so it would be cost efficient to replace it. The air conditioner outdoor unit was 7 yrs old and he said they are no longer making the coolant that went in it due to EPA. I agreed to have my system replaced . They replaced my indoor hvac Trane 3.0 ton unit with a Lennox 4 ton unit. I called-the company in August when I noticed it ran a lot and I noticed it was bigger unit. I was told that I had verbally ordered it a bigger unit. He said this was more efficient than my old unit. Sent a guy out that said it was running a lot due to the control being down the hall from the unit and reasons I did not understand. My house is only 1768 sq ft and from what I can tell, from the Internet, the largest unit I would need is 3.5 ton. This unit is also very loud and distracting. I had used this company for years for various plumbing issued and gas line issues with no complaints but I think he saw someone who had no idea about hvac systems.

I was not home at the time. My wife was. The plumber from Frank's plumbing arrived and changed out the valve(fluidmaster I believe) and wrote out the receipt with only 2 lines, "Replace fill valve" and "evaluation fee" with prices to the side. No itemized listing of parts and their prices and labor. "Replace fill valve" was priced $163.00 with "Evaluation Fee" being $29.50. Unfortunately my wife didn't do what I had asked her to do and call some plumbers I had on a list to get estimates. Frank's has said they don't do estimates because they need to evaluate the site and fixture to determine what needs to be done and then the price is set and given, but of course that evaluation is almost $30.00 and the price of installing a part that I priced at numerous venders costing only between $10 to $20 dollars apparently takes almost $140.00 in labor to install? They also claim they are bonded and "stand behind their work", but the invoice says "30 day warranty". 30 days is standing behind one's work? Frank's Plumbing office keeps trying to call me during my work hours to "explain the invoice". By the time I'm free to call back they are closed and honestly I don't see the point since the reply to my inquiry on why the price is so high for a routine repair that takes them just minutes has been puffery and excuses. The quality of work is fine, but the same quality; I believe, can be found for much less. I'm upset I wasn't home when they came because if I was told it would be $192.50 total to replace the fill valve in the toilet I would have said "thank you, but no thank you", but they would still have charged me the $29.50 for simply coming out. I can't recommend Frank's Repair Plumbing at all.

The job was very satisfactory. We were pretty pleased with them. They did a very good job. They were prompt and knowledgeable. They got the problem fixed very quickly and we haven't had any problems with it. The price was reasonable. We would absolutely use them again.

From the first call to franks Plumbing, everybody was very professional. Under the circumstances, we couldn't have been more pleased. If I have any plumbing issues that I don't think I can handle, I know who to call.

While doing that, the plumber knocked off a shelf over the sink and broke some glasses. Then he covered it up so I would not notice the broken glass. Their prices were too high and their work was shoddy.

I live about 30 miles outside Amarillo. I used Frank's Repair Plumbing previously on two occasions for big plumbing jobs involving replacement of water, gas and sewer piping and had good experience both times. When my air conditioning compressor crapped out, I called them again. They told me up front that there would be a $29.50 service call charge. They sent a technician out who evaluated the system and told me the compressor on the rooftop 30 year old system had "blown a plug" and was not repairable. It was an old freon unit, and repair parts are not available. He was quite professional and polite. I paid him the $29.50, and we discussed having an engineering sales guy come out the next day to give an estimate for replacement.

The next day, Tyler came out and looked over the system. He explained my options, made some suggestions, and gave me a quote for the agreed upon replacement of both heating and cooling units: $5,788.68. Tyler seemed to have a good understanding of my requirements and was very professional.

Crew came out the next morning and did the work. Again, very friendly and professional people. They were very organized and made short work of what I thought would be a long project. They found a problem with my electrical meter hook up which threatened the new HVAC system. The next day, Tyler came out with an electrical contractor who made repairs to the meter. When the electrician asked who to bill, Tyler told him to bill Frank's.

The next day, as promised, I got the bill for the quoted $5,788.68. A friend in the HVAC business tells me that while no great bargain, this is a competitive price consistent with what he would expect for this type service. This is the third time I've used Frank's for a major plumbing issue and all three times they have been very professional and performed quality work.

While babysitting at @ family member's home, I put all the peelings from 4 carrots and 6 potatoes down the garbage disposal. The result was a stoppage in one compartment of the kitchen sink. I called Frank's Repair Plumbing, Inc. I was quoted a price of $29.50 to come out and diagnose the problem. Two men arrived within minutes and opened the stoppage in less than ten (10) minutes. They accepted a credit card for $29.50 for diagnosis, $92.47 for the work less $15.00 for a coupon for a total of $106.97. When I told them that was excessive, they seemed sympathetic. They said everyone complains about the cost.

They came out to look at the problem. They first off told me it was going to run around 30 or 35 dollars just for an estimate to fix the problem. They told me that I needed more freon and that was not covered under the warranty. Also they recommended putting a dye in it so that later if it leaked out again, they could find the problem and fix it then. Basically, they told me that none of this was covered by the warranty, and it was going to cost around $385.00 to do this. I told them to go ahead even though I was upset about the price to work on such a new unit that should have been covered by the warranty. They fixed it and left. My AC was working in the house and cooling again. This was in the heat of summer, so I knew instantly the day it quit working, and I called them out the next day to fix it. Well, the day after they repaired my unit, I happend to be outside when it kicked on. I heard this awful and loud squealing and grinding. It only happend for a few seconds, but it was everytime the unit kicked on. I called Franks Plumbing out again. I told them on the phone that I thought they may have bent the fan when they worked on it earlier. It was obvious something in the unit was out of alignment. They came out again and looked at it and told me I needed a new compressor and that it was going to run another $750.00. I asked them how could this be if it is still under warranty. They said the warranty would cover the parts, but the $750 was for freon again and labor. I was furious at this point and told the repair guy this was not right. I was out over $1000 to repair a nearly brand new unit. He told me that the money he would be getting to do this job was nothing to them because they have many customers who spend hundereds of thousands of dollars. He also pointed to a small hairline crack in the driveway and said "just like this crack, people would say this work was poorly done if they seen it, just like my ac unit due to the fact that it is defective. Things like this happen every once in a while with new units, but it is rare." He basically said that he didn't care if they got the money to fix it or not. It wasn't going to make or break them. I told him not to do the work. So I called Frank himself. I know him because he has done many jobs for me in the past and I have dealed directly with him. I told him the whole story from start to finish. He said that he sent me his best technician and if he said the compressor was bad than it was bad. He said he was going to check with his guy and call me back. Which he never did. I decided to call another company out. I didn't tell them anything about what had happend with Franks at this point. They first checked the compressor and it checked out fine. They recommended a new fan. They weren't a lennox dealer so I had to go to another one to get the part. They took the fan off, and I took it to them and traded them out so I could get the warranty on the part. It was really funny that the new one I got had these balancing weights on it, and the one off my unit didn't have them on it. I think that when they worked on mine, Franks took these weights off. They tried to scam me. After the new fan was put on it worked perfect again. Watch out, because they tried to pull a fast one on me and get another $750.

started off good came and did the install the install took a little longer than excepted but not bad. was told by sales rep an inspector would be by the following week and the cost would be a flat $5000. about two weeks later called Frank's about the inspection that never happened. did not get a response about the inspection. about the same time we started getting a bill for another $80. called Frank's back again about bill. They said they had no record of making the price $5000. We paid the $80 bill. In October we get a call from Frank's saying the city inspector was coming to look at the work. The inspector found the work was not up to code. A high water safety switch was missing and the condenser needed to be three inches off grade. Called Frank's back again. they sent out a technician to complete the work. the solution was to raise the condenser on multiple 4 inch square rubber pads under each leg. A temporary fix at best. the condenser will not stay on this fix. Called Frank's back again about this fix. their response was it was good enough and they were not going to put the pad that was supposed to be installed on under the condenser in. Will be calling the city and BBB in the morning

Frank's installed the plumbing and heating/AC in my new construction. My new home came with a written 2 year warranty on plumbing. Within the first two weeks after purchase, I called them out to replace the leaking faucet outside. It took two visits before it was fixed. There was also a "sewer odor" present in the master bathroom that began approximately 2 weeks after moving in, that would "come and go". The first three times they came out for that problem, the odor would be gone by the time they visited and nothing was done. They asked the builder if we were Hispanic as if that would explain the problem. Finally, after about 3 months of me having them return, they replaced the wax seal on the toilet and the problem was solved. One and a half years later, the kitchen faucet (parts were included in the warranty) was leaking bad enough to fill the sink (if stoppered) within just a few hours. I called Frank's Repair Plumbing and they refused to return on the warranty work. They insist that the warranty was only one year, even though I have the signed warranty which states clearly two years. Finally, after the secretary for Frank's hung up on me, I called the builder and another plumber came out that same afternoon and covered the warranty that Frank's would not.

They showed up on the morning that was agreed upon and began work. They said it would take at least a day and probably two. They were there for two full days. The coil and heater were in a very small closet located on the second floor and the attic space is next to nothing. The units were all Lennox models and the coil matched the outdoor unit for tonnage. I was at work for the entire installation so my wife was present for everything. I would call occasionally to check up on how it was going and she said they remained working all day with few interruptions. The work went well and my wife and I were both satisfied. I wanted to wait a few days before posting this to see if anything would go wrong, and the units, so far, have run as expected, which means very well. I have inspected the work that has been done and found nothing that I disapproved of. The closet is located in a hall with wood flooring and stained trim. There were a couple of minor scratches but I anticipated there would be, nothing a little varnish won't easily hide. Overall, we are very satisfied with this company and will retain them for service in the future.
