All Star Fence

I contacted All State fence to program our chain-link fence motor, key pad, and remote devices. From the time the technician called me to say he was on his way to the time he left was an hour and a half. He did not have to provide any materials. We received a bill for $1,400. I was completely surprised by the invoice. After asking why the invoice was so high he said they do not bill by the hour, they bill by the project. There was no warning that the price would be that high. They said they would review it and revised the invoice to $1,200. I am a local contractor, and I understand overhead and profit but I have never charged an individual $1,400 for an hour and half of work.

This is a follow up after leaving a previous report with a rating of C and a yes that I would do business with them again. In the previous report I had been promised a return visit to fix issues left undone. The return visit never came. After numerous calls to the owner of the business, who always speaks sincere and heartfelt concern over the phone, I have not received one return visit or callback. In fact, I am flat being ignored. Thus, I am forced to change my rating to an F. You can't work with people who refuse to complete the job even after payment in full was rendered. I know. You don't pay them in full until the job is complete. I'll file this one under a bad experience and learn from it. I wish they had been rated on Angie's List before I did business with them.

Took a while for them to get to us, but it was a very busy season after the storms that had come through the area in the spring.  They showed up when they said they would. Did what they said they would do and did it well as far as I can tell. Overall, I was pleased.

Please note: I still highly recommend the company and it's people. I have taken into consideration finding quality products to work with is becoming harder for vendors to find. Even so, I just don't feel giving a perfect score is the right thing to do at this time. I will review and update the rating when the issues are corrected.

Every thing went well.  They were able to come earlier than originally stated so they called to see if it would be OK.  They arrived when they said they would and finished ahead of schedule.  They took pride in their work and cleaned up afterwards.
