Americana An Aveda Concept Salon

My husband and I are members of Angie's list. We are currently traveling so I am out of range of my current stylist. It's kind of scary using a new stylist but my hair was just getting too long. I have long thick hair past my shoulder blades and I have run across some stylist who don't want to take the time to necessary to work on this much hair. I checked Angie's list and saw a good review and this is an Aveda salon so I thought I'd give them a try. My experience was positive from the first step of making the appointment right down to paying for services. Every employee I came in contact with was very friendly and helpful. Jenny, the owner, cut my hair. Her experience was very obvious. She asked me questions about how I liked certain aspects of my current style. She was a very good listener, asked specific questions to check for understanding, and she didn't proceed till she knew we were on the same page. She hadn't even started cutting my hair and I was already impressed. She made a couple of suggestions which I liked and agreed to. One suggestion was to change my bangs a little and the other was to add a little more face framing. She massaged my scalp, washed my hair, cut my hair and styled it. I absolutely love the cut!! Wow, she certainly exceeded my expectations. The cost is very reasonable too (comparing it to San Antonio, TX) especially considering it is an Aveda salon and she used Aveda products on me. She also did not rush at all and she paid attention to details which I very much appreciate. I visit Alpine about 4 times a year. Now that I know Jenny is this good I am going to make appointments with her every time I come to town.

I have used them ever since I got to Alpine eleven years ago, and they have been great. I know the owner, and I have been friends with the owner for a long time, but besides that, I have just been going there to get my haircut for eleven years. It does not matter who you use. They are all great stylists, and they are highly-educated. The owner makes sure that they are really tip-top. They do a great job and are super friendly. They give you what you want if you want coffee, water, or whatever. It is actually a nice experience to just go in there, visit with them, and get your haircut. You will feel good.
