Joe was so professional and just as friendly as can be. He is the most trustworthy contractor I have ever met. He is honest and fair and does a fantastic job! We even let him stay in our home by himself to work with no worry at all. He has also done work at my mom's house, wood floor installation, and new granite counters and kitchen backsplash. It turned out beautiful!
His work is flawless! I would recommend him to anyone. In fact I have recommended him to my boss and he ended up doing work for him and my boss and his wife were so very pleased with Joe. They also plan to use him for all future home remodel needs.

He has done a lot of work for me.  He has rebuilt my whole bathroom.  He gutted it out from ceilings to walls. He also did all the electrical, plumbing, insulation, and put in the shower and tile flooring and also painted it.  He did excellent work and is very skilled, meticulous and clean.  He cares about what you want and will also recommend different ideas.  He also does exterior home improvement.  His pricing is just wonderful.  You get what you pay for.  I will continue to use him in the future.

We actually came by Vercontaire & Sons through the tile subcontractor, who was excellent. Vercontaire became the general who managed the remodel of our 20-year old master bed and bath suite. This was a complete remodel as everything was stripped down to concrete and drywall. Painting work was generally good. However, his son failed to let caulking around ceiling beam dry before priming and painting. He didn't prime and simply painted over the wet caulking. As a result, the paint and popcorn texture now comes off in patches, landing on the bed, floor, shower, wherever. He improperly installed our new bathroom fixtures, which later resulted in the faucet stem breaking, requiring additional work. The real problem came with the Bruce hardwood flooring that he installed in the bedroom. In spite of our asking about the padding that Bruce requires before installing the "floating" wood planks (Joe Vercontaire's response: "naw, I've never done that; it will be alright"), Mr. Vercontaire proceeded to glue the hardwood planks directly to the concrete slab. As a result, the flooring now "pops" and "cracks" when walking on it. We had Home Depot Flooring experts come out later to look at the floor (where we had purchased the materials). They confirmed that the floor had been improperly installed and that our only remedy would be to completely rip up and replace. So we learned a very expensive and valuable lesson. NEVER let Mr. Vercontaire anywhere near hardwood flooring and, if you do use his services, watch everything like a hawk.

My wife was referred to Joe through a church contact. Joe came out and I described the project that included a finish out on a 1000 SQ Ft Bonus Room. Also had a large room without a closet. We wanted to add a closet so that we could use it as a bedroom if needed. Also wanted that closet to double as a Media Cabinet. So, it needed to function as both. Joe provided a detailed estimate. We also had a 1000 SQ FT bonus room that is not air conditioned. It started with drywall and plywood flooring. Needed trim to match the house, paint, and carpet. We were happy with the price estimate. During the project Joe and his son were always courteous, prompt, and clean. They were always easy to reach by cell and email. We also had them fix a few small items while they were here including a few cracks in wall board and a leak in the masonry. Joe said he did all aspects of remodeling including electric and carpentry. We were very satisfied with the work. The finished project looked fantastic. We are planning to use them again for some other projects we have in mind including a remodel of a bathroom.
