Mike installed new gutters on my home last summer. In less than a year's time, the gutters are packed with leaves and water is not draining properly. I called Mike who said that he would clean them for $185. I thought that seemed like a lot of money (on top of what I had already spent) but he bragged about how thorough his process was and he detailed all the work that would be done to ensure the new gutters worked properly. Gutters do need to be cleaned periodically and I wanted to preserve the investment I had just made in new gutters. Since it was rainy season and I was anxious to get the problem corrected, I scheduled the work by leaving him a check at the house. Big mistake. The check was cashed and the work was not performed. When I got home that evening, I could visably see all of the leaves still packed in to some of the gutters. A large garbage bag was left on the top of the roof. I assumed Mike and/or his crew would be back to finish the job. No such luck. I have left repeated messages and have received no return calls. I was totally ripped off. I am going to hound him until I get my money back or the gutters are cleaned properly because I don't think he should get away with unscrupulous business practices. The experience I had is very similar to another review on Angie's List. Please beware before using him for any work. He will take the money and run. It's unfortunate but this business can't be trusted.

I had other bids but his was the best. He was very prompt. It was very straight forward job. They were in and out of here within a few hours. The water actually drain away from the house now.

Mike came out promptly and gave me an estimate. Work was started in a few days and quickly completed. The gutters look great, but when the first rain came shortly after the gutters were installed I noticed a corner where there was a huge amount of water getting behind the gutter and flooding the ground underneath. I called Mike immediately to the woman who answers his phone. She said Mike would get back to me. He never did. I called at least 5 more times and the woman kept telling me Mike would call me back. He never did. I then started sending emails with pictures of the problem. I sent at least 5 e-mails. I would give them about 3 weeks to get back to me each time. I got one response ("I'll take care of it") It has been almost a year now and I have not heard anything else from Mike. I would recommend waiting for a rain before paying Mike, because you will never hear from him again. I guess that means that his warranty is worthless. I can understand that it wasn't noticed that this one area would be a problem, because it looks like it should work, but to not stand by your work and to not respond at all is ridiculous and unforgivable. My rating is has changed in my mind from an A to an F.

Installation went quickly at under 2 hours. It looked okay from the ground. After it rained we used a ladder to inspect a too low corner. Three days after the rain water was still standing in that corner of the gutter. Even more shocking was that the corner of the gutter was noticeably below the flashing. We inspected the other three corners and all four were installed below the flashing. In fact the preexisting gutters had been forcibly bent down to meet the new gutter installation so that they are also below the flashing at the corners. Look at the pictures to see where the spike holding the preexisting gutter ripped through the gutter, exposing the fascia, as it was forced down to meet the new gutter. Look at the pictures to see where the Rainmaster gutter was cut too long to fit under the flashing and the preexisting gutter was again forced down to meet it so it is also now below the flashing. Mike denies that he bent the preexisting gutters below the flashing. SEE PHOTOS
Response from RAINMASTER GUTTER SYSTEM
"We installed guttering on the sides of her home on February 19, 2008. I was on the job site from beginning to end. The customer left me a message on Saturday afternoon. I returned her call Monday morning. It was a short call, approximately 3 minutes. She did not want to listen to my explanation. She ended it by telling me she would give me an F on her report and hung up. She was not willing to discuss rectifying the problem. There were existing gutters on the front and back. I tried to explain when this is the case, you will tie all four corners of the guttering together so as to complete the system and is what we did. When tying corners together we are limited to joining them together at the existing height to allow water to flow around the corner. The existing gutters were exactly as high as they are shown in the pictures, which is where the corners came together. They are at a level towards the bottom of the flashing although not at a level that would leak. The existing gutters were not lowered or bent as you can clearly see in the pictures. If the existing gutters had been moved there would be multiple nail holes showing through the back of the guttering and there are not, again, as shown in the pictures. Even more, the existing gutters could not be raised due to the fact there are existing downspouts at each of the four corners preventing them from draining properly. We strive to keep our customers happy, we will resolve this matter."

Mike Mosely (Owner Rain Master Systems)came out and gave a proposal/estimate. He suggested using a larger down spout all around the house to let leaves wash through vs constant clogging we were getting from smaller downspouts. He also recommended a couple extra downspouts. His estimate was the lowest. One company wanted $1800 another $7000. Mike's estimate was $1419.00. Mike Mosley appeared very professional and experienced. Once we chose Rain Master Gutter Systems we called and scheduled installing. We waited six weeks and the price Mike estimated did not change. On the day of installation, the Rain Master team arrived on time 8:30am and were completely finished at 2:30pm. This was very fast. The installers were courteous and did a very good job. I am very happy with the price and quality. Rain Master is a quality company I would use them again!

It was an excellent experience. I obtained bids from a total of three contractors, and these guys were the least expensive by far. They were very prompt and cleaned up every last piece of debris. They did a great job!
